The menu offers a wide variety of milk teas, fruit teas, yogurt based, lemonades and slushes. They do a good job of meeting your sweetness level. This is such a cute bubble tea shop! It gives you cozy homey feels as the artwork is hand-drawn and child-like while the food is quality food. They serve the food and drinks fast so it doesn't seem busy but if you note the traffic of the influx of people coming and going, its pretty steady. There are plenty of bubble tea shop now, some are real Taiwanese chain and some are local, but not many serve snacks/food. Tea is pretty good but i like that they serve fresh monigiri (Japanese rice ball) and waffle. If you are used to regular waffle then you might not like these little mochi waffle, because I am sure their batter is rice flour and tapioca flour. This is my favorite boba shop in town! We visit often. The last few visits have been a mixture of dine in and take out. The shop is small but the space is used well. There is plenty of room to chill and enjoy your treats! The drinks have a wide variety of flavors, custom sugar levels, and toppings. They make the best Taro tea in town. My husband loves the peach tea! The tofu is good, and there is a wonderful variety of unique snacks and bites to try. I love the mo-nigiri! The lines moves fast even when they are busy, and the service is always spot on. They have never messed up an order for us. Even when getting take out, you can pick up right from the drive through window which is super convenient. Bright and colorful and fun- with some cute art on the back wall, and seasonal treats like spooky toast- this place has everything a great boba place should. Stopped by for a quick BoBoa Tea after biking, felt a bit hungry while ordering, so I asked the staff if there's any snacks.... The Asian owner staff lady was very kind and nice to recommend their famous Mochi Waffle. That was such a jackpot! They have either 3 mini Mochi Waffle for $8 or 1 regular size Mochi Waffle for $6. I highly recommend the 3 mini for $8 as you can mix and match flavors. Like other reviewers said it's crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Speaking of flavors, Earl Grey is the bomb! So unique and if you are even a borderline tea lover, you will love it. I'm so glad the nice owner staff lady recommended that as well. All in all, an absolute gem. I cannot recommend enough. Clean bathroom too. Some tall stools style seating if you are dining in. Great vibe and reasonably fast processing for orders. Great flavors not too sweet, everything is just right. As #WomensHistoryMonth continues, I wanted to share another woman owned business that I absolutely love to stop at whenever I'm in the area, Momo Ashi! As far as I know, Momo was the first boba shop to make an appearance in Winston, and is still one of the best! Although I don't have as many occasions to stop in as I used to when I worked closer to the Robinhood road area, when I do get near it, you can bet I'm coming for a treat. In fact, this place was one of my first ever boba experiences and taught me a little bit of the ropes. Brown sugar everything is the name of the game here, whether you do that in drink form (half sweet for me), or do it on one of their delicious waffles or treats, you cannot go wrong with this flavor. It is FANTASTIC. Which is funny to me, because brown sugar would not be my go to in so many other things, but since having one on my first visit, I'm definitely a fan. Such a cute boba cafe! The service was pleasant and the drinks were yummy. We also got mochi waffles. They are not mochi, nor a regular Belgian waffle. They are a weirdly Frankenstein like blending that somehow works. The Earl Grey is ok, Red Bean is good, and the chocolate was exquisite-not too sweet but definitely flavored. The decor is fun and lighthearted. If you like these products and are nearby, it is worth the stop! Hint: stop waffling and try a mochi waffle. The first time I came here I wasn't a huge fan, but after a friend of mines had them cater for her wedding - every visit after just seemed to taste a little bit better! They have a decent amount of indoor seating with a couple little nooks that make for good photo back drops. I wasn't a huge fan of how their rainbow jelly tasted. The fruit tea is ok. Have been wanting to come here and finally stopped in to meet a friend and I realized I've missed out on so many opportunities!! I have been here a few times, never disappointing. Drinks: I like places that serve drinks with 0 sugar, it usually tells me they brew their own tea. Food: I tried every snack and I like them all. Monigiri (onigiri) is something rare to find from a store here, it reminds me of convenient store culture in East Asia. As the name suggested, the toast is too thick for me, the flavor is good. I am most impressed by the wamochi, I like the sweetness from original mochi flavor, I like that I can taste earl grey. I went to Momo Ashi for a Yelp Elite event this winter when there was snow on the ground and it was so cold I just couldn't bring myself to order my favorite boba drink, a taro slush. But with the weather warming up (thinking spring thoughts!), an ice beverage beckons. Momo Ashi has a wonderfully easy online ordering experience, possibly the easiest food order I've ever placed for anywhere (I don't adjust the sugar levels, though, so I didn't look at how that would get entered). I hit the road and in 15min parked and my food was ready when I got to their door. I could have used the drive-thru lane to simplify things even further, but I wasn't sure they'd be ready... I should not have doubted them. So I got a taro slush with boba, and hubs got a mango slush with mango popping bubbles, and they have appropriately sized bags with plastic carry frames in the bottom to make serving super simple. We also got a brown sugar boba waffle each, which was recommended to me at the Elite event, and it was once again amazing. It has crisp, it has soft, it has chew, and even though hubs got his drink & waffle after a 20min drive, both were still in good shape, although I did take the waffle out of the drink bag to try to keep each temp at their levels. Yelp keeps showing me more convenient places to get bubble tea. This one having the waffles too and the convenience of the online order, it might be my current front runner. read more

Can I just say how HAPPY I am we finally get some real boba love in Winston? Like an actual Boba shop! THANK YOU! This place is so cute with the decor & the staff is very friendly. It seems a lot of them are still in training, but they're doing a great job. The boba is cooked perfectly! I've been about 3 times already and I had no issues with my boba. I've had boba waffle which was really good. Not too sweet but sweet enough & fresh with a lint crunch to it. I want to get all the flavors. I also had the pork nigiri, YUM! I'm going to just go down the menu & try everything since it's not a huge menu, but they definitely have something for everyone! We were so excited to see this place open up really close to home. My husband stopped on the way home today and brought me home a coconut milk tea with mango star jellies. I really liked it a lot! There aren't too many places in Winston to get this kind of thing and they have a huge menu of options, I will definitely be trying more. They offer a lot of customizations with various add ins of different jellies and bobas, even red bean which my husband tried and liked. I preferred the mango jelly to the red bean. You can choose your sweetness level, I found the regular to be pretty good, I would maybe try 80% next time. It wasn't overly sweet the way they prepared it though, it was really pleasant. My husband also brought home an array of wamochi waffles which I tried a bite of each but mochi isn't my thing, I don't enjoy the texture. He was happy as a clam though and ate every bit of them! They were really cute though, I will give them that, also not overly sweet but they definitely have a chewy texture from the mochi in them. I want to try their savory items, they have takoyaki and monigiri! Finally, their branding is adorable and my husband and said the restaurant space was really inviting and cute. I'm excited to try more, I will no doubt be back before the end of the week for the monigiri, that's a hard to find item around here so I am pumped to try them. read more

I stopped by while on a road trip and was very excited for this place. The interior was absolutely adorable and the food options were unique. This shop is in a big plaza with a grocery store, so parking wasn't a problem and the cuteness on the outside stood out that it was easy to find. The milkteas had a floral taste to it, which I really don't preferred personally, but if you like floral taste, then their drinks would definitely be for you! I also got an Early Grey mochi waffle. The Early Grey taste was very strong, I did loved the texture though. It truly has a mochi texture on the inside and crispy/toasty on the outside. Absolutely in love with this place! This was my first time trying a wamochi and I was extremely pleased. I opted for the wamochi minis and tried every flavor. My personal favorite were the earl grey and strawberry flavored wamochis. The strawberry matcha bread was also very delicious. It was fairly big and good for sharing. Finally had a chance to drop in to say hi to my cousin, who was working here yesterday during Christmas. Glad I did! A fairly new place, I was pleased to walk into a spaciously pink indoor space with plenty of seating, cute decor, and even a space in front that called out for photo opps. The menu is also very easy to navigate, not so overwhelming where you get lost in so many choices, but organized in such a way that your eyes can easily navigate their signature items. Should you need help though, the staff is incredibly helpful, friendly, and more than willing to make suggestions. For instance, as a preggo lady, I'd already had my daily fill of caffeine so I didn't know what kind of drink I could have that came without it. They helped me land on the strawberry yakult, a yogurt-based drink. I topped it with star jellies instead of boba. Super refreshing! I enjoyed it lots. My aunt ordered several other boba drinks for the fam and there were no qualms with flavor or quality. Everyone enjoyed their boba drinks and have become regulars. Additionally, I got to try a decent sampling of snacks on the menu as well, from mochi waffles they call "WaMochi" to Onigiris they like to call "Mo-Nigiri." The Pork Floss Mo-Nigiri was a generously-sized portion that came warm in an easy to pull-apart package. It was a nice filling snack that I'll more than likely order again. The WaMochi was also yummy with a mix of the same chewy texture I love from mochi mixed with waffle. It's not something I thought I'd like, but it was kind of addictive. My two-year-old also really enjoyed it which speaks volumes to me as a little human that can take several tries at eating something before taking to it. My friends and I visited during their soft/grand opening in April 2021. They offered free wamochi for the first 100 visitors which was great. I had no issues with my order, but my friend did wait for while for his onigiri. Overall, the interior of the cafe is SO CUTE (pink/black theme with tons of cute cat characters) with a good amount of seating. It is also kept very well cleaned. Plenty of parking which is always a plus. The dessert, savory foods, and drink selection of the menu is also quite diverse from milk teas, fruity teas, slush, toast, wamochi, and more. Definitely a one-stop shop if you're craving a lot of Asian food/snacks! Overall, the quality of the tea is decent. Not as strong as I would like, but mild enough for all palates. The boba is okay (I haven't tried other toppings), could be much softer/chewier but good for Winston Salem. I also like that they allow you to customize your sugar/ice content. I've tried the taro slush (7/10), strawberry milk tea (6/10, way too artificial), and lychee black tea (7/10) all with boba toppings. Their wamochi is delicious (mochi waffle) and I would like to try more of their flavor options next time I visit. Visit Date: August 2, 2021 (Soft Opening) INTRO: Momo Ashi Cafe was the FIRST official boba tea shop to open in Winston-Salem. With this title comes big responsibilities. My friends and I attended their soft opening last year, and we were all brimming with anticipation. We no longer had to drive 30 minutes to Greensboro to satisfy our boba tea cravings. However, our expectations came crashing down. We were disappointed in their service, and more importantly, the quality of their products. We waited over 30 minutes for 2 boba teas and 2 desserts. I think there were less than 10 customers in the store. It didn't help that they had a little kid manning the cashier either. If I'm being completely honest, this was one of the worst boba teas I've ever had in my life. Winston-Salem is desperately still in need of its own go-to boba tea shop. DESSERT 1: Matcha Red Bean Slush ($5.25) - The ice wasn't crushed completely. The ice chunks were larger than the ice found in an ICEE, so you can imagine how difficult it was to drink it. It literally felt like I was eating ice rather than consuming a drink. There absolutely no flavor at all. I couldn't taste any matcha. I mean, just look at the drink. It's not even mixed properly. You can clearly see that the huge chunks of ice aren't mixing with the matcha. 1/10 DESSERT 2: Iced Matcha Latte ($4.75) - Heavily watered down. Tastes more like matcha-flavored water. The drink was bland, and the texture of the boba balls were not normal. 5/10 DESSERT 3: Nutella Banana Toast ($6.00) - It's literally a piece of white bread topped with bananas and chocolate syrup. It didn't even taste like they used real Nutella. The white bread was your ordinary bread you can pick up from Food Lions or Harris Teeter. 2/10 DESSERT 4: Brown Sugar Boba Waffle ($5.00) - NOW we're finally talking. THis was the best item on their menu BY FAR. I honestly don't think it's worth $6 for the size, but I get it. They run a business and need to make money. 7/10 VENUE: Cute, pink interior with a few tables and chairs available for dining in. Most people tend to pick up their orders to-go. PARKING: There is a huge parking lot in the plaza, so parking will never be an issue. WORTH IT? Based on the more recent reviews, I'm hoping Momo Ashi received the proper feedback and implemented the respective changes to their boba teas, pastries, and food-preparation process. I have not been back since I was traumatized by my initial experience. Based on my first trip here, I would NOT recommend Momo Ashi to anyone. However, I am open to giving them another shot in the future. (Overall 3/10) read more
