A new Indian/Nepalese restaurant in Concord only been open a few weeks with ~60 5 star reviews and counting... I now can see why! Believe the hype! I brought my mom here for her birthday on Friday and right away we were greeted by who someone I believe was the owner (real friendly guy!) and they quickly cleaned a 4 person table to seat us at. We ordered and shared regular, steamed veggie momos, shrimp curry, Bengan Bharta (barbecued mashed eggplant) and it came with rice and naan. You can definitely taste the quality here -- everything was phenomenal. My mom loved it too! The portions looked small at first, but filled us up so quickly. We had yummy leftovers for the next day. Plus, we took them up on the free dessert check-in offer, which was a a small dish with two sponge-like cookies in a coconut soup - I forget the name, but our server said it was one of her favorites! The food is authentic tasting and fresh. Even take-away tasted as good as dine-in. My go to dishes are steamed veggie momos, paneer tika, saad paneer and kasmery naan. I get food here at least twice a month. I hope they can make it through covid shut down because it would be a loss to the community if they close. Lunch menu Had lots of choices but could order off the regular menu. The lunch portion was generous with my guest taking home the leftovers for lunch another day. Service was excellent. Ordered: steamed momo, butter chicken, garlic naan, basil garlic naan 4 stars for the momo and butter chicken. It's hard to come by momo, and this tasted pretty legit. Price was good at $9 for 8 as well. Liked the sauce it came with, and would love to try the sizzling momo in house next time. Butter chicken tasted legit, and the chicken pieces were tender and chopped into bite-sized pieces. 3 stars for the naan - thin and somewhat tough after it cooled down. The naan I really like is airy and fluffy. Great that all their entrees come with rice! It's hard to come by that in the bay area, and it's nice that this restaurant can still afford to provide a healthy portion of rice with the meal, even though we also ordered naan. read more

This place is really good. From the food to the service, they didn't miss a beat. I know that the owner is in his honeymoon stage, but you can tell that he passionately wants his restaurant to succeed. From the moment we stepped foot inside, he was appreciative and all throughout dinner, he was real personable. A breath of fresh air to have above and beyond service. We ordered Butter Chicken, Kadai Bhindi Masala, Lasooni Saag Paneer, & Garlic Naan. All 3 entree's were so good, I couldn't decide which was my favorite. Ultimately, the Paneer came out on top. Everything in it would just melt in your mouth. Also, If you love Okra, then The Kadai is what you need. It was crunchy along with robust flavors. As for our last entree, you could never go wrong with some good ol' Butter Chicken. Tender chicken with a rich sauce. Most definitely a must try. I've been here a few times now and my experience has always been pleasant. The service is very friendly and the servers are polite and quick. I was really excited when this restaurant opened up in the vicinity since I live momos. And thankfully the restaurant didn't disappoint. My personal favorites are the JHOL MOMO and CHILLY MOMO. The momos are perfectly cooked and their filling is simply delicious. Amongst entrees, none of the dishes that I tried stood out, but they are decent nevertheless. Just to clarify, I've only tried their vegetarian entrees. The owner vouches for the non-vegetarian dishes so they might be better. A pretty good and reasonably priced restaurant on the whole. Finally! Indian (and Nepali!) food on Clayton Road!! Feels like a miracle. The inside is nice, nothing fancy but it works well. The owner and staff were all super nice too. Good selection of wines, which is always good. We had the veggie pakoda which were excellent and really crispy, the pani puri which were delicate and light with a good sauce to pour in. The chili momo and chili chicken both had a really nice flavor but needed more heat. Next time I will ask for spicier and if that happens I would probably make my review a 5. We discovered this gem about 2 weeks ago when I was craving curry. So I researched for places within a 30 mile radius. We are from the Brentwood/Antioch/Pittsburg and options are limited. Since we eat with a toddler, we were looking for a place that can serve flavorful curries without being too spicy and we are happy to found this Restaurant. During the first visit, we ordered Samosas, Paneer Pakoda, Butter Chicken, Masala Fish, Sizzling Momo along with the garlic basil naan and Kashmiri naan. Everything was pretty good but the dishes that stood out from this visit was the Butter Chicken, the Garlic Basil Naan and the Kashmiri Naan. I give all these dishes 5/5 for flavor. Why are people not talking about the Kashmiri Naan?? This is a naan filled with shredded coconut, sugar and dried fruit and jam. It was sooooo good. Fish Masala was good but it tasted mellow next to the Butter Chicken. Samosas were typical and Paneer Pakoda (fried cheese curd in chickpea batter) was good but it felt really heavy along with the rice and naan we had. Sizzling Momo was pretty bland. Before we left that day, the owner Mohan recommended we try the chow mein next time we visit. Today, we tried the fish curry, egg chow mein and the chicken jhol mo soup along with the butter curry, basil garlic naan and kashmiri naan. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT. The soup was a light cream vinegar based and it was a nice contrast to the momo dumplings and the dishes we picked out. Reminds me of the Chinese Xiao Long Bao dish. The fish curry had a mild tomato base and it was nice to see chunks of veggies cooked with the fish, which gave us some texture in our meal. Chow mein is not your typical Panda Express with thick doughy noodles that one gets tired after 2 bites. The noodles size is in between fettuccine/linguine but has the chewiness of ramen noodles. This dish was light, refreshing, and not greasy at all. I think we will be ordering all of the same dishes the next time we come here. Our family eats out a few times a week and we will be definitely coming here every few weeks when we are feeling for like have good Indian Nepal food. I think most of the bad reviews for this restaurant has to do with the dishes people ordered so please check out these dishes I recommend and you will have a good experience. Yes sometimes they don't fill the bowl up all the way when you order curry, but it doesn't change the fact that the food is really good. yes there was a couple times the Biriyani had like whole giant chunks of clove which was difficult to make the food edible, but still the flavors were on point. Our new favorite Indian/Nepalese restaurant in Concord! This was much needed as there are a few good Indian restaurants around this area in comparison to San Ramon, Dublin, and Fremont. They have a variety of dishes and even dumpling items. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Curry, Momo Dumpling, Salad, Garlic Naan, and Mango Lassi and it was all excellent and flavorful. As a Dimsum and Dumpling enthusiast, I was really surprised to find delicious dumplings here. Never had dumpling with a Nepalese kick it to, but it was nothing short of awesome. Being a new restaurant, I hope they maintain their quality as we will keep returning. Overall 5 stars for good food quality and friendly staff. Keep up the good work guys. Another, little known, Concord gem. There is very little street exposure to this delicious Indian Nepalese cuisine! The food is absolutely on point, with delicious spice and deep flavors. For this level of float or and great service, the price point is an incredible bargain. The location itself is quite tucked away among other businesses but parking is easy. My boyfriend from out of town came to visit and I begged him to order Indian food-- asking him to call the place in Todo Santos having been there before. Of course, he doesn't know where anything is and called the first number that came up. **Thank Goodness** we accidentally ordered food here! The staff was so nice and lovely as we got take out. The inside is clean with great ambiance. The food is hot, made fresh, and so so good! We got dal, chicken vindaloo, and tikka masala-- plus some garlic naan and rice pudding. Everything was really amazing. Now, we can't wait to go back and try their world famous dumplings, butter chicken, and more desserts. My kids discovered this place, then they brought my wife here, and last night they brought me. I really enjoy Indian food, but I have found that I can go pretty much anywhere for Indian food and simply enjoy it. Nothing has ever really WOWed me. Last night this all changed. WOW. We ordered a whole lot of dishes and I enjoyed them ALL. Saag Paneer is one of my favorite dishes and I thought you couldn't do much else with creamed spinach and farm cheese, but their version had more colors, spices and complex flavor than any other version I have ever had. The Lamb Korma had tender pieces of lamb in it, which surprised me because most stew type dishes have meat that's a little on the dry side. This was perfection. And lamb skewers cooked in the tandoori oven were also amazing. Never thought I'd find an Indian restaurant that truly stood out from the rest, and now for one of the few times in my life, I am wrong. If you find yourself in the Concord/Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill area, take a little detour and visit Momo N Curry. It's tucked in the back of a small strip mall, but it'll be worth the effort to find it. Also, friendly attentive service if you're into that kind of thing. Our extended family discovered (after missing it from the road a couple times -- bigger signage near the driveway would help) this new gem last weekend. I could make a meal out of their heavenly samosas alone, but the aloo gobi, palak paneer, and chicken tikka masala were all delicious and fresh tasting. The restaurant appears to be family owned & run, and they are almost literally running -- they're busting their butts to provide great service. Even though it was crowded, we never felt neglected. They seemed genuinely concerned with our satisfaction. The only thing keeping me from giving them five stars is the timer. There's a kitchen timer that is clearly audible from the dining area that goes off every few minutes. It was the only negative distraction from an otherwise wonderful meal. We'll be back. read more

Absolutely delightful restaurant with a lovely variety of some traditional North Indian dishes, and a half dozen dishes with momo dumplings (veggie or chicken). Really lovely, welcoming staff, who started us off with papadam, and we ordered veg pakoda-- savory and delicious! This is the best nepali resturent in bay area the best is paneer chaumin and chilli momo chicken.

I would def order the Momo dumplings again but otherwise the rest of the dinner was underwhelming. The lamb korma was oddly sweet and the chicken tikka masala was unremarkable. The garlic naan wasn't fluffy or chewy. Was hoping to find a gem but the search for an authentic Nepalese restaurant continues. read more
