Found this gem last night as we were in the area and craved some Indian/nepali food. This place is authentic and delicious!!! Eating out with kids can be tricky as they sometimes don't like new things or end up with something spicy...but their food was mild, like truly mild - not like some places you ask for mild and it's actually spicy (for those like me, and young children, who don't/can't eat spicy foods). So thank you for not making our food spicy as we requested!! The menu full of options to satisfy any cravings, the flavors are rich and service was on point! Our little one was running around so didn't get a chance to capture photos if each dish we had but everything we ordered came out perfect: vegetarian chow mein, fried rice, samosas, butter chicken, and the chicken tikka masala. We were excited to finally try this place but it didn't meet our expectations. Server was nice but it took a very long time to place our order and receive the food, even though there were only a few customers inside. The naan tasted raw inside so I couldn't eat much of it. We ordered the dishes spicy, but it was to the point where it was barely edible. Keep in mind we always eat spicy and have a high tolerance for it. Due to these issues, we ended up leaving hungry. I ordered the uber eat from this location today. Under the description for chicken tikka says it came with rice. But when we revived it didn't have any rice. I called the restaurant, they told me they don't know why the uber eat website indicated that. You can also see the shrimp we ordered. 6 shrimps for $13.49??!! I ordered the Chicken Tikka Marsala lunch special to go and I have to say I was disappointed. I have never seen such small portions. It consisted of a small bowl of the Chicken Tikka Marsala and the tiniest to go box of rice that have ever seen, see pics. If you have ever ordered a lunch special from a Chinese restaurant that included a cup of soup to go, that was about the size of the container of the Marsala. The portions were just too small . I just finished my lunch special and I feel like I've wasted 12 bucks since I'm headed back out to get another lunch from somewhere else to fill up. Hidden gem in a small strip mall location. Our favorite Nepalese food in the Bay. Traditional dishes without the heat, but they will provide the heat if you want it. Very flavorful. No one welcomed us when we walked in and the lady seated us at a front corner table w little space. There were more available tables w more space that I think she could have seated us at. We got the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala, plain rice and plain naan bread, and chai tea. Everything we ate was great. No one checked in on us during our entire time there. We had to flag someone to ask for more rice. The only time the lady came to our table was to collect our $. My hubby left a tip but I would have left them no tip due to the lack of customer service. I really enjoyed Momo N Curry! They're still getting the kinks out of their menu but the food and service isn't lacking. I came here with some girlfriends last night since it was getting great reviews and was only 5 minutes from my house. At first we ordered the mix grill but quickly found out the seekh kabob and tandoori salmon (replaced with shrimp which my friends were allergic to) weren't on the menu so we'd only be getting the chicken tikka, so we scratched that. They also only had some wines available from the menu, but they were really apologetic. What we DID order was a little bit of everything: the samosa chat, steamed chicken momos, lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala, veggie korma and garlic naan. We ordered everything medium spice. The food came out fairly quickly and it was delicious! The toppings on the samosa chat were really fresh and tasty, and the sauce of the lamb was so flavorful. The momos were good also but were made better by the sauce. The tikka seemed less creamy than some I've had but still tasty, and the veggie korma was just so-so. The garlic naan though? It was the bomb! I love any kind of naan, but they added butter to it making it crispy and soft at the same time. Scrumptious! I'll need an order of that for me alone next time. It was friends luncheon day and one of my friends took us to this restaurant. When we entered, a person made a gesture to us to find our table. The service boy took a long time to note our order on a device he had in his hand and seemed to be a newbie. I ordered a lemonade with two cubes of ice and he brought it without them. when asked, he said that they had melted! The food was just average but we enjoyed it while my friend kept saying its too good. Well, the tastes do differ, I told myself. Hands down one of our favorite Indian restaurants in Concord! We used to visit Naan-and-Curry in downtown Concord but we always put off with customer service that was lacking. We were in for a surprise when this joint popped up right down the street. Service is excellent! UPDATED REVIEW Momo n Curry, you are our go-to Indian/Nepalese restaurant in the entire north Tri-Valley area! 5 enthusiastic stars! Please read my first very thorough review as this one will be really short and just talk about the improvements and some of the food. SERVICE Specifically, speed of service. Boy what a night and day turn around! The owner Sam added some staff upfront and in the back kitchen and has apparently ironed out the first week soft launch's kinks. As I previously wrote, our wait was over an hour and 15 before we got our first dish. This time: 23 minutes. It was probably a little less because we just started chowing down on the beautiful appetizer we ordered! FOOD THE SECOND TIME AROUND Like the first time, the food was truly amazing though one needed some improvement. Let's talk about the beautiful appetizer I mentioned above, which one of these days I'll happily get again. It was called a Samosa Chat. Basically it's two samosas cut in half and laid down with a nice blend of two chutneys, spices, and onions. Not only did it look delicious, it was truly something out of this world. What a nice blend of toppings that made the ubiquitous samosa jump to the next level. Highly recommend! The other thing that was amazing was the Fish Vindaloo. We took the suggestion from the really nice lady that this one was a good one and she was spot on. My wife ordered this dish and I was tempted to switch plates :) The flavors in the vindaloo were utterly delicious, not too spicy, not too mild, and spiced just right. And the fish? Perfectly cooked and tender to the touch. Literally just melted in our mouths. One of the other dishes we ordered was the Goat Curry. I love goat, so I was looking forward to trying and comparing this to Himalayan near Todos Los Santos Plaza. Unfortunately the goat was a wee bit tough, which distracted from the great curry that it accompanied it. The goat could be prepped and marinaded to be more tender and hopefully the next time we order it, it will be more tender like Himalayan's goat curry. All else the same from our first visit, this place hit all cylinders and they were doing a brisk business that night and appeared to be running really smoothly. We love this restaurant so much and will enthusiastically recommend it to any people who are looking for a good Indian/Nepalese eatery. read more

A new Indian/Nepalese restaurant in Concord only been open a few weeks with ~60 5 star reviews and counting... I now can see why! Believe the hype! I brought my mom here for her birthday on Friday and right away we were greeted by who someone I believe was the owner (real friendly guy!) and they quickly cleaned a 4 person table to seat us at. We ordered and shared regular, steamed veggie momos, shrimp curry, Bengan Bharta (barbecued mashed eggplant) and it came with rice and naan. You can definitely taste the quality here -- everything was phenomenal. My mom loved it too! The portions looked small at first, but filled us up so quickly. We had yummy leftovers for the next day. Plus, we took them up on the free dessert check-in offer, which was a a small dish with two sponge-like cookies in a coconut soup - I forget the name, but our server said it was one of her favorites!
