My son and I were driving to Concord and all of a sudden out of nowhere where we both had a craving for some Indian butter chicken and naan bread. We yelped Indian food nearest to our location. We were surprised that Mehran Restaurant had an all you can eat buffet that served butter chicken and naan. It was 220p and the lady who picked up told us they stopped their buffet service at 3p. We were 7 minutes away. The restaurant wasn't hard to find and parking wasn't difficult. As soon as we walked in a family of 6 and a party of two were leaving. They all looked full and satisfied. Nadia is the nice lady that picked up the phone and greeted us. She explained what the dishes were and what sauces go with each entree. She even gave us freshly cooked naan bread. They had three chicken and one goat item to choose from. (Butter chicken, chicken tandoori, chicken curry, goat curry) They had plain white and vegetable rice biriani. Also a round potato fried patty to complete the carbs section. Four vegetable items were also available like a lentil dish, tofu in sauce, curry vegetables, and some type of green spinach dish. We definitely went in on the naan and butter chicken. We had like 3 plates. Naan was warm and melted in your mouth. The butter chicken was super flavorful and paired well with the naan and plain rice. Chai tea was also available to sip on and wash down the food. The vegetable dish was ok I think because we came towards the end. It was over cooked and most of the vegetables broke down softly. The restaurant was clean and Nadia provide excellent service. Towards the end of our meal Nadia brought out fresh oranges and man were they sweet and juicy. I found out they also cater and the prices are reasonable. I seen a few customers come in and picked up trays of food to go. First time coming here and it won't be the last. We went to one of our favorite restaurants out here for a birthday dinner( she chose here and came from the peninsula - she loves their food too)! And it has always been good food, but for some reason, today was PERFECT food! Idk if they have a new cook or what- but everything was on point! The food was delicious and fresh tasting. So excellent food today and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it! The beef feet ( pya) is my husband's favorite and this is cooked for hours- he loved it. This is his favorite restaurant and he is Punjabi /Pakistani so he knows his food! Service from the gentleman was great too! The usual line up includes 4 vegetarian options and 4 meat options which typically include tandoori chicken, goat curry, chicken tiki masala, and chicken curry. Vegetarian options vary. Today there was chickpea Chana, alo Gobi, palak paneer, and a wonderful roasted eggplant option. Chai tea and naan (garlic or plain) are included. The sauce options such as a tamarind chutney sauce, raita yogurt sauce and mint chutney were great to spice up or cool down some of the dishes. Thirdly, I have lived near here 17 yr & have NEVER had a bad experience with food or service from these beautiful people. I'm sad that I have to write this but I hope this helps positively. I've been eating at this place since 2011 and it was my favorite Indian/Pakistani restaurant in the east bay. Recently the food quality has declined. Gravy's and sauces are no longer cooked with care, time, and effort and exchange for speed. The chicken in the tikka masala seems it's just just plain boiled and cut thrown into a thin dull gravy instead of marinated, flavorful chunks of chicken. The food is a shell of the rich, authentic, and robust flavors that used to be here. This place had it so right for the longest time. I only hope that they can bring back the food or talent that used to be Mehran. read more

We held my Jago here in April and it was incredible! Nathan is doing an incredible job running the venue - his attention to detail and follow through has been very helpful. He also communicates very clearly and was happy to receive any and all feedback. Their menu is pretty expansive! They are also making some changes to the recipes. The appetizers were pretty good! And the food was constantly refilled and dishes cleared in a timely manner. The venue itself had a recent ceiling change so everything is very nice and bright inside. There are so many great things I could say about the venue. I personally have been to so many events at this venue that it was extremely special to me to finally host my own event here at Mehran. Nathan (the owner) and his team were amazing from communicating to setting up tables. Prior to the event, Nathan was extremely patient was with us on picking out which food we'd like, how many tables we needed, and even reminded us on what time everything should be served. He created a time frame and a well organized/easy to read document that listed the menu and pricing for every thing. My family and I are were very happy on comfortable the whole experience was. The service let's just say was OUTSTANDING. The staff was smiling and very quick with bringing out the appetizers, food, and dessert. The renovation of the venue is also stunning, making the whole room look extremely elegant and classy even without decor. You must visit in person. The food was 10/10. Everything was cooked to perfection, soooooo tasty. My compliments to the kitchen staff. Even coming here during their buffet time (public eating time), the food is delicious. This place is the perfect place to host your events. My henna night came out beautiful. Everybody complimented the decor and the venue. It's located for us in the perfect area with lots of parking and a park 4 min away in case people wanted to take outdoor photos prior to their events. I'm genuinely and truly happy with how everything turned out. If I had the professional pictures from the photographer during my event already, I would post more of the food and all, sadly I don't have them just yet. Wow! This is my first time I had Beef Feet Stew. It's so good and tender. So delicious! And the chickpeas are outstanding! Overall food is so great! I was very happy like I went to Disneyland happy. Second time here, we came for the buffet, they have Indian & Pakistan food style. I'll pretty much tried everything on the buffet, it was very good, however I'm not to familiar with the food. They had beef , lamb, goat & chicken. The buffet is $18 plus tax & tip, no drinks included. The restaurant was clean a bit dark for my taste, but everything was good. I got the got the popular chicken tikka masala, hoping it wouldn't be bad, but I was wrong. Chicken was somehow still dry or old. Sauce was still seeming like an Italian sauce. The owners are the best people you can deal with, very friendly and accommodating. They renovated their place every year and they have a verity of options to decorate their venue accordingly. The food was good and had the perfect spice. The serving was plenty and could have easily fed 2-3 people. The service was good and our server was friendly. There were plenty of seating and parking. The ambiance was welcoming and I enjoyed watching the looped video that was playing of someone cooking Indian food (it was food network type of show). We had an event catered from Mehran yesterday. It was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious. They had people come over and fry fresh small samosas, fish pakoras and veg pakoras. They were frying and serving fresh onsite. They also brought a tandoor onsite and made delicious chicken kabobs, sheekh kabobs and prawn tandoori. They were delicious. Not to mention the yummy biryani, chicken tikka masala and fresh yummy naans. The food and the service were both really great. If you are looking to entertain, check their services out. I'm a fan of Indian buffets because there are so many dishes I enjoy. It seems that a lot of restaurants stopped offering buffets which is unfortunate but understandable. Located A couple of miles off Hwy 4 it's on the corner of a strip mall shared by a hall and an Indian grocery store. They had a good selection of different dishes. I liked the level of spiciness which would be considered too spicy for some but definitely not too spicy for my taste. I booked Mehran Hall( the hall on the left side which it much smaller then the right one ) , for my son baptism on 10/26/2024 Nathan/ family and crew members were so attentive 100% on customers service and hospitality. Nathan / crew always checking in with us while my events was going on, the bartender was amazing always communicating with us, food was served on time and fresh and delicious of course. We had Americans buffet which included chicken,pasta, rice, potatoes, salad and fruit platter with dinner rolls. The waiters were also very attentive with dirty plates and picking up food/ drinks so the tables were clean. I recommend this hall because it has everything you need to plan your event it has the Hall, food the Bartender, waiters, plates no plastic. You just need someone to decorate and bring your own liquor. Plus you can bring your own appetizers and desserts. Crew cuts your cake and pass them out. The entres were ok. Nothing special. Lots of chicken. The naan was quote poor. No butter, no garlic, in fact, no flavor at all. It was dry, chrispy (not pillowy soft) and detracted from whatever good qualities the other entres had. I tried a spiced yogurt dessert that was distinctly not sweet at all, and would have made a tolerable salad dressing. I'v been here at least four times and enjoyed it less each time. Vallejo is too far to drive to find an Indian buffet, so I'll have to give up on Indian buffets. The service was acceptable. read more

Wonderful food and wonderful service Sam treated us like queens .We went to the Sunday buffet and we came out so full and happy we felt like we went to Disneyland. The curry goat to the chai tea was exquisite. Attended a birthday party last weekend and it was great!! The servers were on it and made sure to come around to pick up trash from the tables the staff was very nice. I booked Mehran for my husband's surprise 60th birthday party for 08/23/25. I met with Nathan and was immediately impressed by how professional he was. He walked me through the packages, service and everything that you need for a party. Their package included house DJ, decoration lady, bartender, waiters, and security. Although I used my own DJ I was happy that they offered these services so would not have to go looking on my own. I initially booked the small and needed to upgrade to the bigger hall and was fortunate enough to do so with no hassles. The party was pretty amazing but the food was the talk of the party. I have never been to a party where the buffet at the end of the night was all gone. My guests were able to get seconds and thirds. Everything was handles with care, respect and very professionally via Nathan and his brother Ryan. I absolutely had no complaints and nothing but positive reviews from all my guests. My husband is white and I am Indian so I needed to have a fusion menu which was no problem at all for Mehran. If you are looking for a party venue with all the accommodations, I highly recommended Mehran. Best buffet hands down. Not just for being local but better than other Indian/Pakistani buffets I have been to in San Jose, Fremont, east bay etc... These guys offer a wide variety of food 7 days a week with a special menu on weekends Sat/Sun. Each dish is made with a lot of quality and the sauces are thick, rich with the best blend of spices. I swear no expeses spared is what you taste from every dish here. This place is my protien hack. I come by a few hours before weighlifting or after for a good part of my daily protien intake. Best of all the food tastes great. I believe it's about $19 for weekday lunch and $23 for weekend with some specialty dishes like my favorite Beef Nahiri(hope I spelled it right).
