Easy stop off Highway 5 in Yreka. We stopped in on our way back from Oregon. Retro 50's diner vibe, with lots of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean & Elvis pictures. Plus some funny memes and sayings posted on the walls. Service was good and it looked to be run by two women. One at the counter and one in the kitchen. (At least what we saw) We ordered the Avocado bacon cheeseburger with tater tots. Also the Miner special (double cheeseburger with fried onion rings and barbecue sauce ) with french fries and a Butterfinger milkshake. Tater tots were delicious, hot and crispy. Burgers were good. Each patty was pretty thin so if you like a meaty burger, then order a double or triple. Shake was creamy and yummy too. There's also a patio area, however we ate inside. We were in town for business and needed a quick lunch. The location is a flash from the past. Our server took our order at the front counter. She was so fun! The dining area was clean and comfortable. We ordered two burgers and fries. My husband had his own and my daughter and I shared a cheese burger. They brought out our food fast! My burger was cut in half and we were given our own fries in our baskets. I really appreciated that. We don't eat a full burger. The meat was delicious. The fries were THE BEST!!!! We needed some food on a road trip and the place needed to be dog friendly. We did not want to end up doing fast food and eating in the car - we needed a break Other issue is some restaurants are too far off the highway which then makes a long day even longer This place has an enclosed patio which was perfect! Tables with umbrellas provided some shade. I went in to ask if it was ok to sit out there with our dog - I couldn't figure out how to open the gate - the latch was kind of hidden. A woman showed me where it was and opened it for me. I went in and ordered- burgers and a fries and a drink - they have canned soda and fountain soda and I got a cup for just water Person working the counter was friendly. We got an order of fries to share - the fries are huge. Ours were very tasty and not greasy Our burgers were good and we both enjoyed them Yes the owner is a character and opinionated - but our country thrives on diversity of interest and opinion. My 16 year old (straight) son was in this place to eat with his friend about a week ago , an employee who I'm assuming is the owner told my son as he was ordering how he looked like a "gay boy" because of his pooka shell necklace and his Croc shoes. She then told him "the menu is up here fagot". My son didn't know how to respond or how to act. He called me as soon as he got home and told me how he was talked to and how she talked bad about his friend's dad whom she thought was Hispanic. This behavior has been going on for years. Walked in and walked out. Lady at front was helping an old guy probabaly in his 80s, and was super rude about him not being able to see that it comes with fries on the sign. She even repeateded with her rude attitude and comment 2 other times after. I also noticed that once the lady gave the girl in the back the food ticket, she got up from where she was sitting (probably on her phone) and pull down her shorts as it was probably riding up her ass, didnt wash her hands, wasnt wearing gloves, and grabbed the frozen beef patties out of the cooler with her bare hands and then decided to grab the burger buns right after with ground beef hands while that was happening, we asked to use the restroom, and the snippy lady running the orders said "ya, only for paying customers". I had a chat with my mom right outside with the key in hand and didnt feel the bit comfortable to eat anything from there and stay. Returned the key and booked it. I honestly can't decide if I loved the food better than the entertainment or vice versa. She's witty, crass, and runs one hell of a burger joint. She's got all the classics a drive in would offer: big burgers and tons of options, shakes, onion rings, etc. All kidding aside, if her food actually sucked I would still give 5 stars and eat here purely for the entertainment value. In this PC BS world we live in her attitude and feistiness is worth every put down, insult and humiliation she throws your way. When, not if, she throws shit your way be prepared to throw it back at her! Yeah, she may be preparing your food and all but if you cower and hide in your shell you're not getting the full experience...Be warned! read more

This place is NOT family friendly. A weird crazy lady got in arguments with customers while we were there and was aggressively yelling at everyone. She yelled at our table (which included two children) before slamming our food down. The food was okay but overpriced. The bathroom was dirty. The restaurant was dirty, cluttered and outdated. I shop locally when ever I can and like to give my business to non-chain operations when ever possible. However, I wasn't overly impressed with this establishment or the food or the prices. The burger was fine, as were the fries. But the prices were a little steep. The food was better than fast food, but for the same price in town I could eat at an establishment where there are servers.
