Work called me to Pahrump today. It was actually my first time over the hump so I though that I'd Yelp my lunch options. My coworker agreed that Mom's was a good choice so off we went. If you're looking for something more than diner food, you're in the wrong place. However, this is good, solid diner food done right. I had the BLT and it was perfect with bread toasted just right, cool, crisp lettuce and crispy bacon. The fries were shoestring style and crispy, not greasy at all. In fact none of the food was greasy. The staff was friendly, prompt and nice. They seemed to know the regulars well, which I always take as a good sign. After living in Vegas for 6 years, we decided to drive over the hump to Pahrump for lunch. I was hoping to find an old school diner with homemade desserts. Mom's Diner hit the mark. Shared the mom-strosity burger with hubby. It was good and gooey with a nice side of hot fries. But what I really wanted was homemade pie. I chose the lemon meringue and was not disappointed. Moms dinner has OK food for the area, BUT, as I went today to see if it could accommodate my disabled Vietnam veteran father, the staff manager was as rude as they come, they don't have a handicap table, ( reserved table but no handicap, must be for special locals) the door is too narrow for any wheelchair, and the bathrooms are way to small for a wheel chair. And zero handicap spaces upfront. So I will be complaining to the state, its unfortunate this little small town dinner will now have to come into the 22nd century and accommodate our very large retired military community. I'm sure renovations will start once the compliments come in. I'd pass on this place if you need to be accommodated with a disability in your family. well I went to eat at MOM'S. I had the special. PORK CHOP. NO it wasn't a pork chop. it was a cheap ass pork steak with a lot of grizzle. packaged gravy. last nights baked tater. what ever vegetable. coffee. no refills. i've been in pahrump 25 yrs. it's pretty damn sorry when DENNY'S is the only good place to eat. oooh well. Wow! I just bought a home in Pahrump and immediately went to Yelp to check out the highest rated restaurant in town. Mom's seemed to be the #1 pick of many reviewers and after having lunch there today, I can see why. This place lives up to the numerous five-star reviews. I went in and ordered take out. They said the food would be ready in 15 minutes and it was. The place was packed, but the service people were friendly and genuine. I ordered the club sandwich and it was delicious. Generous portion and the potato salad was as good as my mom used to make forty years ago. My wife had the Beef Dip sandwich with fries and it was also very tasty. Believe me, we will be back! I have to tip my hat off to a restaurant that offers great food at very reasonable prices. The two sandwiches came in at less than $20 and were worth every bite. Found this little diner on our last trip to Pahrump and couldn't wait to come here for breakfast again! When it comes to a good old fashion breakfast...this is the place! Family owned-they take pride in making sure their customers are taken care of! Love all the collectibles on the wall(and the way they displayed them without looking too cluttered), the bathrooms are customized to each, women and men, and the food...YUM!!! I rate my food places by 2 things. Can they make a Patty Melt and how is the Mac and Cheese. Let me tell you the Patty Melt was awesome. Looks like the staff knows everyone, which I'm not surprised with. If I lived in Pahrump I'd be a regular as well. Tasty medium rare ribeye steaks; fresh garden salads; potato soup, boiled carrots, zucchini, other vegetables; mashed potatoes with plenty of brown gravy; baked potatoes with butter, sour cream, and chopped onions: green onions, actually. Coffee's good (not strong, but flavorful enough). Classic chocolate fudge cake. Excellent service. Clean and hospitable place to enjoy each other's company with comfort foods. read more

I received notice that Yelp removed this review - I think that it is honest and correct, they said it did not reflect that it was a first hand experience. IT WAS. I am re-posting the review as it is first hand and it is correct. If you would like to contact me then contact me and don't go around and delete because you do not like it. This is a difficult review, first let me say that Mom's is a nice place to eat when in Pahrump. (I have eaten there multiple times and in the case of this review it is irrelevant) I have found the diner to be an enjoyable place to eat. Below is the review of the box lunches that Mom's makes for Front Sight. It is a first hand review and it is from personal experience. Recently, Front Sight selected Mom's to make the on-site lunches. About the only good thing to say about them is they are there. There is no water, fruit, cookie, basically, two slices of bread, lettuce, meat, and condiments. Also some minor sides that last for a spoonful. Frankly there are much better values from other sources as this is a RIP off. After reading the review, I have this to add, most of the hotels in Pahrump make a box lunch for you to take with you, I have eaten them and used them on my most recent visit, they are a better value. I stand by my original review and stand by this: the lunches made by Moms for Front Sight are convenient, that is the only thing going for them. Charles read more

Came out to Pahrump during Memorial Day because we were all off at the same time. I looked up places here on Yelp and Mom's Diner came up and they were open. Three of us had the Pork Tenderloin, one had biscuits and gravy and the child had a grilled cheese. Granted that we are from the Mid-west and love pork tenderloins, this was one of the best ones that we've had in southern Nevada. Our daughter loved the grill cheese. Dessert was 2 brownies and a piece of cheesecake. Everything was wonderful. The atmosphere and staff were great and very polite. We may make extra trips out here just for the tenderloin. read more

My Wife and I were in town visiting from Phoenix, were looking for a good place to have dinner on Friday night, and this place had great reviews on Yelp. Michele had Chicken Fried Steak, and I had the Mom-Strosity Burger. Both tasted awesome, but our waitress Amanda, had to be one of nicest servers I have ever met. She really seemed to care about all of her customers. We enjoyed Mom's so much, the very next morning we were back for breakfast, and guess who was there with the biggest smile, AMANDA !
