We eat here 3 times weekly since they opened. The Wednesday meatloaf special is served all day and is a huge portion that is always delicious. Everyone waits for it and has it that day. My favorite is the oversize portion of liver and grilled onions cooked perfectly with freshly mashed potatoes and lots of gravy. Ummmm Always look forward to the grilled tilapia special with two large filets. Enough for our always hungry son to be satisfied. Freshly prepared and properly cooked foods are always welcome for us. Only giving it one star bc I like the old time look inside. Didn't care at all for the food, thought it was mediocre at best and way over priced. Service wasn't anywhere near what you would expect and the wait for your food order entirely too long. Hear other people rave about it but until I can bring myself to try it again, this is my review. I hope alot of the businesses in town that wanna leave their place a dirty dining dive will soon pick up the pace bc I personally can't wait til the new businesses associated with the Silverton an come in and set an example to them. I've seen both sides of this coin. The first time I went in, with friends, we did have a friendly waitress, in a sort of "I'm on the job" kind of friendly (it's all about the tips, you know). The second time, it was the glaring waitress and the stern, unsmiling matron at the cash register and the attitude-filled tattoo boy from the kitchen. The food is average...really, really average...which in Pahrump means fine cuisine, I guess. I really wanted to like this place, and if you're a local and they know you, maybe they like you too. The best diner in Pahrump, Nevada, It was recommended to me, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, simple, yet so tasty, I think this is just about it, they pick just the right ingredients, have you tried the coconut pie? It's also about the atmosphere, I don't know, is it because I am an out-of-towners or what, I enjoyed the retro style, the quality of the food (I've got the cheeseburger), prices are rights.... Prices are pretty steep for what you get. Went to "Meat Loaf Wednesday" once and the slice I was served was raw in the middle and drowned in gravy. To their credit, they had no problem with me leaving without paying since I didn't take a bite. Have not been back since. The owners have also opened "Sugar's Shack" in the Stage Stop...I assume it's more of what you get at Mom's. A lot of people love both places. If you love "comfort food" with an emphasis on salt, grease, and fat, this is the place for you. read more

If you're not one of the original locals, forget it! They may seat you in a corner and forget about you. But if you can go to the local Thrift store find you Mom's Diner coffee mug and walk in with it in your hand, no matter they never seen you before or yesterday with no mug. I was not overly impressed by Mom's Diner the few times I have gone. The food was okay, but nothing spectacular, and the service was average, the employees seemed like they where not happy being there, making the environment tense. The decorum is nice, very homely, the pricing was okay, good for home made food. Will try it again, hopefully the environment will lighten up a bit. read more

Three of us stopped here for breakfast on the way to Death Valley. My buddy and I had the Texas Benedict, which was very good. I was in Pahrump NV in late April 2014 for a few days and we all returned to Mom's Family Diner 3 times in 4 days the meals were so good and reasonably priced. The staff was excellent and had a good sense of humor and knew how to joke back. Great place to eat if in Pahrump NV. read more
