Do Not Recommend - Ruined My Brand New Dress I brought my brand new bridal gown for alterations and left heartbroken. The fitting area was dirty and right by the front door. After the fitting, I discovered yellow stains all over my white gown, likely from spices or dirt. The seamstress offered no apology and just tried to scrub it with OxiClean. My dress did not fit me at all and I needed it right away. After taking it here, It fit me the exact way I wanted it to and in a timely manner. It is based out of her house, however I had no issue with that because it was very clean, nobody else was around, and we wore masks at all times. After seeing great reviews of Hamideh I reached out to her to alter my wedding dress that had a lot of details, beading, sequins and design. It needed to be shortened and taken in. I took my wedding dress here to be altered. I told the seamstress on the very first day that I was pregnant and that my wedding date was on July 17th. She could never remember when my wedding date was which made me incredibly nervous and on the day I went back to try my dress on she tried to tell me that I never told her I was pregnant and she was very frustrated. Very bad customer service. My dress has a lot of boning, sequins, and lace and she kept saying every time I went in that she worked so hard and long on the dress and that the price was gonna be high. So as I think anyone would I asked for a rough estimate and she said "I can't give you an estimate"... I'm sorry, what? Terrible service. For starters, she isn't very smiley or happy or talkative at all, almost on the verge of rude. Her business is run out of the foyer in her home and the work is done in her garage. There's an accordion divider separating the foyer from the living area of her home and both times I went to see her, there was someone on the other side eating and talking. You're told to change into and out of your dress in a coat closet in the foyer than has a small pedestal, a floor length mirror, and a couple hooks, but it was dirty and had lint everywhere. I took in a bridesmaid dress that I was set to wear in my sister's wedding, needing it hemmed and taken in a little bit in the waist and chest. I agreed that we could put bra cups in the chest to help give more shape since all the dress had was ribbing. She told me it would cost $160! I was in a hurry to get it done since my sister's wedding was only two weeks away - and I realize that a rush fee was in that total, but I don't remember what it was. Here's where the service got bad: I come in to get it fitted after alterations and the hem is crooked - the skirt underneath is longer than the sheer layer on top; there are little stains in multiple places; the bra cups are sewn into the dress in a way that it doesn't fit the natural shape of my breasts; there are multiple snags all over the pleated top of the dress... I told her I noticed all the little dirty spots, and that the hem wasn't right, and that there were snags, and she got exasperated like I was being difficult. I'd never even tried on the dress before I took it to her the first time, so it was fresh out of the bag and obviously didn't have the damage. She frustratedly clipped off a string from a snag in the bust area while I was wearing the dress and acted like it fixed the whole snag problem. She cut the hem to fix it and then took the dress out to the garage where she cleaned the stains off and fixed the hem. The chest area wasn't altered at all, and I mentioned it and she seemed frustrated with me. She proceeded to tighten the straps of the dress to an uncomfortable degree so that they were digging into my shoulders in order to pull the dress up so the chest "fit better." It didn't, but she seemed too upset to admit it. I told her the straps were hurting me and she seemed to not care one bit. I told her I felt like $160 was a lot to pay to get my dress back dirty, hemmed incorrectly, and snagged. She looked at me and said, "I know you don't want to pay." I never even insinuated not wanting to pay - she still worked on my dress, I owed her for that absolutely. But a full $160? She asked me if I wanted her to take it to the dry cleaners, and I said no, that whatever other work needed to be done I would figure out on my own. I handed her the money (she only takes cash) and she pulled $20 out and handed it to me and said, "Here, to take it to the dry cleaners." Come my sister's wedding day - the chest of the dress doesn't fit and I have to keep adjusting it, the hem was STILL too long and I was stepping on it all night, and the straps were digging into my skin so much it felt like they'd rub my shoulders raw - my aunt actually wrapped the straps in napkins to help soften the rubbing. I will never recommend her to anyone and will never go back to her for any help on future dresses. Poor, poor business and I'm still so frustrated. read more

I have never taken a dress, or any clothing for that matter, to get altered. I am going to be a bridesmaid in my brothers wedding, and needed to have my dress hemmed. I was absolutely thrilled with how it turned out! She even replaced the bra cups in the dress, to better fit my chest and give me more support so nothing would fall out! She also was able to create delicate spaghetti straps that ended up working SO well with the dress, in case I do decide to wear it with straps for more support! I was very, very pleased with her services, and she definitely has a gift for what she does.
