This was my first and last time using this alteration shop. Over the years, I have been to many different tailors, and I have never experienced such low-quality work. I specifically requested that they save and return the excess fabric after shortening the sleeves, but they failed to do so. To make matters worse, the hem is completely uneven. I took a chance at this tailor when I moved into the area, what a gem! The alterations are a bit higher in cost than I'm used to but the work is impeccable. I had a long dress with multi layers and my husband had two sports coats tailored abs we both were happy with the results. I unfortunately had a rough experience here. I asked for my dress straps to be shortened and for my dress to be hemmed. I was quoted $130. I picked up the dress today for a wedding tomorrow and noticed there are stains all over the bottom of my dress! The straps are also still too big... I'm disappointed with the service and frustrated I paid $130 for a stained dress with straps that still could use alterations (but now I have to wear the dress because I have no other options). read more

I came in and showed the lady the hole in my pink t-shirt. I had been to Gabriel Park the day before when a stupid tree branch decided to attack (!), creating a hole, and not even at the seams! That branch came out of nowhere! You know where it was? It was inside the huge tree that had 4 forts built inside, now just 1. It's so cozy and cute in there. I ordered my wedding dress online and thought i did a good job with custom measurements however the bodice was too small. i had gained weight in the almost 2 months it took to get the dress. The conversation about weight loss or altering the dress was super stressful. i opted to lose the 15-17 lbs requested to keep the look of the dress intack. when i tell you this husband and wife team were a hoot, the candor could have gutted someone with a tender countenance but they were just what i needed. i got it together, lost the weight had the dress fitting perfectly. I did not realize I had 9 NINE layers of tulle which was too long. But they got it together in time for my dress to be ready 4 days before my wedding. this team is PHENOMENAL!!! i will be forever grateful for the time, the humor, the cheerleading and the beauty of how they handled me. Overpriced and judgy. I took my 12 year old daughter with an oversized sundress to alter to fit her better. My daughter said the inside of the changing area was filled with bible quotes. They asked for close to $100 to take in the sleeves and fix the v-neck. When we decided no thanks, the woman complained that the dress was too mature and said we needed to buy clothes for her from the kid's section. I did not ask for her opinion! Went to Peacock Cleaners on Boones Ferry and was quoted $38 for same dress with MUCH nicer service. Not ever going back to this place. read more

I guess the owner is friendly as long as you don't have any issues with the work she does. I had her take in a dress for me and she made the arm holes too small. When I went back the next day, she tried to convince me that it was fine. She finally agreed to fix it, and when I said I hoped it would work, she said "It better"- as in she was done with it after that. It still doesn't fit well, but she was so unhelpful and unfriendly that I won't go back. I think she just undid the alteration and gave it back to me. Her services are not inexpensive and so I paid a lot of money for nothing! read more

I went in to have my Halloween costume brought in because it was a little large, it included a white button up, vest, and a skirt I planned on wearing a tutu under. The husband was super cute and hummed as he did the alteration pinning. I felt VERY comfortable as a young woman in there despite an older man pinning and tucking around my waist and chest. He ended up asking about doing more than I thought I needed, but he was definitely right as he pointed them out. We ended up deciding to attach my tutu underneath the skirt instead of wearing them separate, making the neck on the button up shirt tighter, the wrist cuffs smaller, tightening some elastic, replacing 2 buttons, and adding darts to tighten the chest area. This sounded great until we got to the counter and the wife said it would cost $110! Holy smokes! I told her I spent very little on the costume so it didn't seem worth it. She said "I don't care what it cost you, it's a lot of work". I said I was sorry but I couldn't spent that, so she offered to do it for $70. I said it was still too much because I would only wear the outfit once. She then pushed the clothing on the counter to me to give it back to me. She was pretty sassy about it. I could have left but I did want the original alterations done at the least, so I asked if we could not do some things in order to cut the price, or if things could be done more cheaply/quickly to cost less. We decided on only doing the neck collar, waist, chest darts and 2 buttons for $40 which felt very fair. I did the remaining alterations at home myself super easily with a needle/thread and fabric tape. I mean... It was for one night. When I went I pick up my alterations they seemed kinda blah about it, despite my attempts to be friendly. The work they did was actually great. I was a little sad they didn't iron it like they said they would though. The husband who works there is super sweet and I would like to see him again. I didn't love how the wife spoke to me though. I felt like she didn't care if I came back. read more

I brought in a pair of denim jeans that had a crotch blowout and patch that had been partially torn off. I was only in town for the weekend, so I was hoping to have the jeans repaired quickly. I asked if they could be done by the next day, and was told it wouldn't be a problem. I imagine with more extensive alterations made the turn around time wouldn't be nearly as quick, but nonetheless I was impressed, considering another denim repair option estimated waits of around 15-20 days. I came in the next day and was very pleased with the results. Where they patched the blowout is hardly noticeable, and they reinforced the other side of the crotchal region to prevent future blowouts. The patch was also sewn back on very sturdily. And it only cost $18! A real bargain for the quality of work. Would definitely return and highly recommend for anyone seeking repairs to a pair of raw selvedge denim they have worn in. read more

Unbelievably good work. My wife took my favorite raincoat that had worn out to duplicate. It was a $3,000 Missoni no longer available, and very complex with hood, lining different from outer; I really thought it would be impossible. We found the fabric to match in San Francisco and took it to this place. It took awhile, two or three months, but I got the duplicated coat today and it was perfection in every detail. It was not cheap, but nowhere near the cost of new. Highly recommend for those with hard to fit or hard to find clothing that has worn out and that they love. Never tell my mother but I ripped her wedding dress. I tore the lace by the neck and freaked out as her dress will be displayed at my wedding. They were able to replace the 30 yr old lace with almost an exact match and unless my mother follows me on Yelp she will never be the wiser. Nice people and decent prices. They replaced a zipper on a pair of khaki's and patched a 3" tear in the sleeve of one of my suit jackets from the inside (damn cat nearly ruined a great suit!). The zipper was flawless, and I was thrilled at the quality of the patch considering it was a blue pin-striped suit and you wouldn't notice the affected area unless you knew to look. The prices were completely reasonable especially compared against the cost of a new pair of pants and a new suit. read more

This shop saved my wedding! I had purchased a dress from Anna's Bridal down the street and had Anna's alter or try to alter my dress. They made a horrific mess of it. Luckily I have family, that I later found out, has been going to this shop for years. They took it in just 2 weeks before I needed it and completely re-altered my wedding dress. It was an absolute mess, in which Anna's had sent it home with me and wouldn't take the time of day to listen to me about my feelings towards the dress. Anyways, they took it in willingly, where sooooo very friendly and kind AND they listen to what was bothering me about the dress then worked their magic!!! Words will never be enough to explain the drastic makeover these guys did on my dress! When I took it in it fit like a tent and was a mess where Anna's had attempted to take in the sides (all bunched up and thread hanging out). They took inches off of the sides, redid the bustle, attached my belt/sash that Anna's had said didn't needed done and took 2 inches off of the back (of which I might add was such beautiful work!!!!!! My dress zipped up the back and had a lace overlay. He took the zipper off, brought the back in the 2 inches, but didn't want to loose some the lace detail, so he then kept the detailed piece of lace and made an all but invisible snap - so once the dress zipped up, you brought the piece of lace over the zipper and snapped it - it was so discrete that I had to show anyone helping me with my dress where it was. IT was AMAZING!!). I was so nervous after my experience with Anna's Bridal to leave it and for them to have to do so much work in such little time, but it couldn't have been better! They did the work and had it ready in just 5 days then let me try it back on just to be 100% happy with it before I left the shop. They were 100% forward in what it would cost (which was $150 less than Anna's Bridal and they did more work than Anna's) as well as they were forward with what they were going to do! (also something that Anna's Bridal failed to do). Love Love Love Love this shop and highly recommend that you make them your first stop! I will from this day forward. I wish I had pictures of the before and after, but I was so overwhelmed with the whole ordeal that I didn't think about it until I went back after they had completed all of the work, unfortunately words will never be enough to explain what amazing work these guys do! read more

Went in to get my wedding dress altered because it was many sizes too big. Came in days before the big day to pick it up, tried it on, and it still didn't fit! When I brought it to their attention they pointed out each spot they made alterations to. As if that would change the fact that the dress was hanging off of me. They took measurements again, and told me it would be another 60 dollars to do the new job. And that was 50% off! Because apparently when I went in the first time they thought I only wanted the front half to fit me and completely ignored the back! And they said they would add clasps to the built in bra, which they didn't do either. Completely unimpressed! WILL NOT EVER RETURN TO THESE MONEY HUNGRY JERKS. I suspect that this alteration shop is fine for hems and minor adjustments to the width of a garment. However, they claim also to be tailors. They are not competent in what we would call tailoring as opposed to alterations. I took two expensive jackets there, one by DKNY and one by Max Mara. I had lost weight and I wanted shoulders and torso taken in. This meant new shoulder pads. They took out the old pads but didn't put in new ones. So the shoulders flopped. There had been excellent tailoring especially on the Max Mara jacket (Italian tailoring), but the shoulder lines in the alteration were crooked. I took both jackets back. I picked them up after the second alteration and they still looked terrible in the shoulders. I then took them to Abraham on MLK. He is a real tailor who makes suits to order. He fixed the shoulders and pointed out that in order to take in the plaid jacket, this place had just pulled the center back seam together and failed to match up the plaid pattern. I had to pay $285 all over again to get the jackets right, having already paid these people a similar sum. When I asked for a refund the woman said she would talk to her lawyer. Go ahead and take your prom dress to be hemmed, but never take a jacket here.That phrase that others quote "a lot of work" also came up. read more
