This is the best breakfast in Stillwater, hands down. There is an assortment of sweet rolls and other baked goods to choose from daily, along with so many different specialty coffee flavors. Every visit is a chance to get a unique sweet roll, they are gooey and every bite melts in your mouth. This place was recommended to me by a new coworker of mine so my mom and I stopped in on our girls weekend for some brunch and caffeine. It was busy! We had to sit at the counter which was fine, the upstairs is reserved for a different work force that they also cater to I believe. The coffee was good and the fancy avo toast I got was also good. Since the cashier attendant knew I didn't want cheese on my toast she said she'd also make sure they didn't put real butter on the bread, not sure if that was followed or not but I didn't get an upset tummy and I enjoyed my meal. read more

Came in this morning for a drink and it was so nice! We got there around 9 am before the rush and were able to get a booth which was super comfortable. I got a matcha latte with oat milk and honey which was delicious, they don't make the matcha too sweet which I appreciate. My boyfriend got the black coffee and said it was good as well! It's cute inside and has lots of great seating although it can get a little bit busy. There is free street parking outside which is great and convenient! read more

It's a bit too bad some people use this place as an office and hog up tables while they do some work. This practice causes a wait for patrons wanting to get a table so they can eat. The business should shut off the WiFi if they have customers waiting for tables while people that have long finished their food or drink linger 'in the office'. This place is smack dab in the middle of Downtown Stillwater, MN. The vibe and service were top-notch. I've read great things about the coffee here, and I totally get why. My Pistachio white mocha was to die for! I also tried their Nutella roll and Quiche with meat. The Quiche took about 5-10 minutes to make, and the coffee was ready in 10-15 minutes. After a reasonablly short wait, my food was served at my table. The freshly made herb biscuits were delicious with a toasty exterior and fluffy soft interior. The sausage gravy was decadently rich, flavorful and bountiful. The poached eggs were also perfectly cooked with a soft yolk. Great way to start our morning visiting Stillwater. My husband and I each had a couple of lattes and then split a blueberry lemon scone and croque monsieur roll. We then took an almond joy cookie and banana chocolate bread slice to go. Kudos to the gal who was working solo at the front and dealing with morning rush. Everything was delicious. I preface this next part by saying I am a very proficient at home baker and my husband has been spoiled by this. There were slight let downs with a few of the things we ordered. The croque monsieur didn't have meat and cheese layers completely through the swirl: filling may have moved during baking but the result didn't provide the flavor you'd expect in each bit. Its brioche bread though was perfect! The blueberry lemon scone was more cakey than you'd expect from a scone. The almond joy cookie was delicious, but the almond flavor only came from almond extract, which didn't seem to be mixed in thoroughly as there were pockets of high concentration, and I was a little let down not to find any actual nuts within the cookie. The general feel of the restaurant was lovely though, and we'll be back for another sugar infusion while we're here. read more

Such a delicious little spot for breakfast in Stillwater! We were at the Hotel Crosby for a wedding and needed some food early in the morning before the festivities. This was one of the only places open before 11am, so we made our way over. There's a large selection of baked goods, and some hot food items. We were looking for a heartier breakfast so I went with a cold brew and veggie quiche. Cold brew was nothing special, but it hit the spot! Veggie Quiche was also yummy, but nothing mind-blowing. Loved the dressed greens on the side. Although the staff was nice and the service was decently quick, the price point is pretty high for the amount of food we got and basic coffees. Stopped in today Sept 16 to have breakfast and do some work. I ordered breakfast at the counter and paid the tip they shoved in my face. Sat at the table waiting. I didn't have a pen on me so I returned to the counter and asked person I tipped if I could borrow a pen to do some work. They told me NO in a slightly snarky way. They refused after I bought breakfast and tipped them. Really regretting paying that tip before I have even had any service. I will not be returning to this place. There were a few taken tables, but we didn't need to claim a seat before ordering, so we walked up to the counter and placed our order. The service was good enough and it didn't take long for the food to come out. Everything tasted just fine. The portions are pretty big and you could probably share a plate between 2 people. We got the quiche, the farmers breakfast, and French toast. I don't know if I'd go again, but perhaps to try lunch? I absolutely love coming here, but it is usually very busy. The style is order in line and then your food will be delivered at the table you self select. Drink orders are called aloud, and you retrieve them on your own. I have only gotten breakfast options. The quiche is soooo good, and comes with either a side salad, potatoes, or a side of toast. They offer a veggie or meat quiche and the ingredients change due to season. The ambiance is fun and alive. The restaurant is right on Main Street so the active feel of downtown definitely comes into the restaurant. Just had the most unbelievable experience. Let me start with the fact that we've patronized this business since before they moved to Stillwater, and since they've opened we come in consistently, including supporting when we could during Covid when they had pop up sales. Today we walked in, my kids' were really looking forward to a cinnamon roll, we are at the bakery case (where we've always ordered) my kids are (not quietly) excited about the last cinnamon roll. A woman walks up to the register looks at us, and once we noticed the last cinnamon roll was being taken out of the case we kindly told the staff we had been waiting patiently for about 10 minutes, and the girl just walked up. The staff, in a very snotty tone said well she just bought it (while my 7 year old daughter is crying and not understanding why common rules and decency doesn't apply to adults) And then apologized to the woman who clearly saw we were waiting and there first. I get it, businesses run out, but what this is really about is treating the patrons of your business with common decency, which absolutely did not happen today. Because of how the staff handled the situation and treated my kids' and I today, we absolutely will not be back, which is a real shame. read more

I ordered a croissant: it was twice the size of a regular croissant, and twice the price (4...$). It was crunchy all around, the way croissant should be. This is a fantastic little brunch and sammy place in Stillwater. Packed to the brim on weekends but if you can find a seat or take your order to go you'll love the sammies and the range of coffee/espresso options. How do I put this? Heaven exists, y'all! I had it on a plate in the form of a breakfast sandwich. First, this place is charming. The staff are amazingly patient, kind and helpful. I don't even know how you can make a simple spring mix appealing at 8am but they did it. I had salad for my breakfast side and I was sad when it was finished. The lettuce was perfectly dressed, like Oscar ready. On point. My husband had sourdough toast and their breakfast potatoes with his meal (I'm sorry, I didn't take a pic of his plate because I was not trying to wait any longer to eat. #Facts) and faith in humanity was confirmed. The atmosphere is super chill so I felt comfortable telling my husband to ditch the formality of a table knife and dip his toast into the ramekin of jam. We got primal and I. Regret. Nothing. The potatoes were firm, flavorful and seasoned. No salt shakers needed. We were headed to WI from Central MN and we've already planned our next drive so we pass this place. I can't wait to bust in there like the Kool Aid pitcher and try new things. As cliché as it sounds, don't take my word for it, go and try this place for yourself. You won't regret it. I've been coming back to this bakery for years now, I've just never reviewed it! I can't say enough good things about Mon Petit! It's my favorite place to eat breakfast downtown Stillwater and lunch too they make amazing coffee and tea options and the food it unique and very well crafted. My favorite foods are the biscuits and gravy and the oatmeal. Not to mention all their breakfast rolls are freshly made every day they usually sell out on the weekends because it's so popular. The service team is small, but efficient they bring out your food in a timely manner and always greet you with a smile. I love all the chicken decorations in the restaurant I wish they were for sale lol! There's seating for small groups and larger groups and sometimes a couple of chairs outside. it does get very busy on weekends, so have patience, it is worth it!! read more
