I've been spending a significant amount of money at this store. I purchase bags of high end food and frozen food combination on a regular basis. The other day when visiting I had to use the bathroom and was denied. It's incredibly rude to deny the restroom. I was told to go to CVS and the bathroom there was closed. I had just visited the Starbucks which is right next to this location and had some free time before a business meeting and thought I would stop in and take a look around, I am glad I did. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised at the HUGE selection of items for sale here for almost every pet imaginable. Upon walking in the door the staff working during my visit was nice, helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the items for sale at Wild's Animals Supplies. I found Wild's Animals to be extremely clean and even smelled clean which is a pleasant surprise for a pet store that allows pets inside. I walked around the store and picked up a few toys for my furry children. Wild's Animals even sells all sorts of healthy food options for your furry children. Upon checking out I came across a refrigerated section that sold 'raw' food for dogs & cats. I have always wanted to switch up my furry children's diet to a 'raw' diet. Wild's Animal Supplies sells Taste of the Wild and are located closer to me than the Pet Stop Warehouse (Mission Viejo). I like Pet Stop more since the staff is more attentive, but Wild's carries a lot of the same brands with similar prices. The guys working the counter, the other day, weren't really concerned that Suki and I were there. They did ask if I needed help, but I wanted to take a look around. They sell all sorts of natural dog food & supplies, cat supplies, bird supplies, and fish supplies. It's a small independent pet store across the street from the Andre Agassi 24 Hour Super Sport gym on La Paz and Aliso Creek. The store isn't as tidy as I'd like but it's a pet supply store. I'm sure there are plenty of animals that come through each day. If I need dog food and am in a pinch, then I'll come here since Petsmart doesn't carry Suki's dog food either. read more

After looking for Stella & Chewy's at Petco and PetSmart, one of the guys at PetSmart told me that they carry them at Wild's. I was greeted by the gentleman stocking the shelves. I needed to get some flavors that they didn't have on the shelves yet. He told me that they sell out quickly and he had just received some. He opened few boxes and got exactly what my dog loves. I was in and out within 5 minutes, which I love. Next time, when I have more time, I will come and look through the entire store. It looked pretty interesting. Ive shopped at Wilds on and off for ten years. Its located across the street from Wholesome Choice Market adjacent to Walgreens. After we lost our dog to what we and our vet believed was caused by the commercially produced dog food he ate his whole life we looked for alternatives. Wilds was very early if not the first to recognize the issue and do something about it. There was very little if any of the recognized brands we were all used to. Replaced with the higher end better quality products. The selection is better than the big corporate chains and pricing is comparable. They open at 9 am which helps with my schedule Recently met and chatted with the owner, yup locally owned and operated which an endangered species. I found him to he very genuine and honest. He seems to care about his business the community and our pets. This is why i now only shop at Wildes. I read all the other reviews and yes the shop could be upgraded a bit but try to remember this is a small local owned business not a huge corporation with millions of dollars. Keep your hard earned dollars in your community not some tax free offshore bank account! read more

More importantly my dogs think going to the pet store is like a trip to Disneyland. ZuZu has a very special bond with Kelly. See the pics for proof. When work was slow and I was concerned about spending the money I was on food they gave me options with their huge selection of good products. When Jack was having hip issues they gave me suggestions on supplements. They always greet you with a smile , the dogs with a treat or pet. My 2 dogs are like garbage disposals. They eat insane amounts of food and we go through the large 30 pound bag fast. And yes, I do give my dogs the "higher end" dog foods because I know if I was a dog I wouldn't want to eat leftover miscellaneous processed meats with corn filler. So that means I need to go to a specialty dog store. I was a little lazy and didn't want to drive to my usual pet supply store, so I decided to give this place a try. I was surprised to find that the usual dog food I get was about $15 cheaper. Upon checking out, the guy informed me that they have a plan where if you get 12 bags of dog food, you get the 13th for free. You don't have to carry any kind of club card or anything because they keep it for you. When you come back for subsequent bags of dog food, you tell them you have a card there and they mark it down. My pets are somewhat special needs pets and I end up buying all of their food here. My dog is a special needs pet only because he is a Shiba Inu and picky as hell. He'll only want to eat something if it's either cat food or human food. Dog food is a distant third. I had to try several dog foods to find one he likes. We finally settled on Orijen, which Wilds' sells in limited quantities. I can't find Orijen at any of the larger stores such as Petsmart or Petco, and I could order online but I enjoy supporting smaller local stores. Some times my dog is extremely lucky and they won't have the regular Orijen in, but they'll have the large bag of red meat Orijen, so for the next two months he'll be spoiled and get to eat dog food made out of beef, venison, and lamb. My cat is special needs because she doesn't drink any water at all. For the first 3 years I had her, she probably drank a little water with her kibble, but not much. After the third year, she began vomiting everywhere multiple times a day. The vets though she was allergic to food, so they had us put her on Natural Balance canned green pea and duck formula to test allergies (which Wilds sells). The vomiting stopped, but after trying pea and duck kibble we found its the moisture in the wet food that she needs, not the limited proteins. We mix some water in her food to make sure she's getting enough water, and she's doing a lot better now. I would recommend Wilds' for all your special pet food needs, though it is fairly expensive being a smaller store. read more

Just went outside to feed my birds and got incredibly sad when I noticed that three of my eight birds were dead! I looked around for any signs of foul play (cats, rats, etc.) and found nothing to indicate something of this nature. I am a pretty smart person but was having a hard time figuring out what had happened. I called the Laguna Niguel location and spoke with CHRIS, asking if he had any ideas on what might of happened to my little buddies. I believe that he was correct when suggesting that the incredible fluctuations in our local weather is very difficult for smaller birds to handle.even the possible cause of their death. Not only did I get top-quality treats for my dog, as products in the store are excellent, but had the pleasure of starting my day off with a fabulously positive and energizing conversation with the owner. We found out that over the years, he's completely eliminated certain brands because their ingredients were questionable, or not as healthy as they should be. Basically, he's done all the research, and whatever is in his store is only there because it's good for your pet. I can confidently pick anything, and know it will be healthy. I also love that they keep hanging in there, even with stores opening around them, taking little bites of the business. Wasn't too impressed when I came in yesterday. There was bird seed all over the floor next to the bird cages. In the back is the fish area. The topical fish are kept in very small tanks, unlike PetSmart. I also noticed that their bettas were kept in tiny cups, and their water was filthy, with waste on the bottom of each cup. The bettas for sale in the fish bowls made me laugh. Bettas need at least 2-1/2 gallons in order to be happy. This place is no better than Walmart. Then, I noticed the place was run by a bunch of young women, and not one came to me and asked me if I needed any help. PetSmart is way better and that is where I'll be going from now on. read more

I went here for the first time to buy a natural therapeutic for my dog. Made the purchase but my dog recovered so never used it. Went back for a refund and saw a sign behind the register saying only exchange or store credit - no refunds. Unfortunately I didn't see that when I bought it nor did the cashier say anything. I can't say I'm a fan of this policy although I'm sure the owners have good reason for it. After I use my new store credit, I'm definitely not coming back. I have been going to this pet supply since I moved to South County. There are many reasons why I won't go anywhere else. Every time I go the owners or his employees are always friendly and helpful. I buy a very big bag of dog food. They always offer to help you out to your car. I never accept, but what a nice gesture. Especially, if you need the help. This pet store carries a wide variety of dog food and other pet supplies. They are the only one in my area that carries the healthy dog food that my dog likes. My dog has allergies and the vets food she wouldn't eat. The chain pet stores do not carry. If you buy good quality dog food, you know how much it cost. They will keep track of your purchases and give you your 10th bag free. All these things and I never bothered to yelp. I lost my wallet with every credit card I have in it. I went right home and didn't realize it was gone until the next morning. I realized it was the last place I used my credit card. I was sitting outside the store waiting for it to open. The owner was there and had it for me. I left it in the cart and so grateful he is very honest. Not only would he not take money for my gratitude; he stated he emailed me to not worry and it was there. Of course, I never checked my emails prior. I never want this non chain pet store to go out of business. If you are looking for a great pet store, look no further. read more

I'm a big supporter of small businesses and would rather spend my money at locally owned businesses, but it's unfortunate that the staff today decided that their conversation between each other was more important that helping a customer. I came to this store with intentions to buy my dogs' their food and treats. After about 5 minutes, I figured that the staff could not see me since I was in the corner of the store. I intentionally walked by the staff, girl behind the counter looked up at me and carried on her conversation without even acknowledging me.
