He is a stubborn, anxious 14 yr old but he loves Shelly and her kind, compassionate, gentle and professional staff at OCHT. Maybe get "desk treats" also help ease him in, and he is so fresh and stylish when he comes home. Lemmy has a million old man nuggets and OCHT groomers do a fantastic job of navigating those during his wash & groom. It's very easy to park here and they do a great job of scheduling so that there is at least 1 dog to play with while waiting and 1 dog getting groomed at a time. To say we were nervous about getting our 10-mo old sheepadoodle groomed was an understatement. He was matted when we adopted him and his first grooming experience wasn't the best. They actually made the mat problem worse. On top of that, he's quite the timid boy, so this time around, we were sweating it. Fortunately, all of our concerns melted away when we met Shelley & team at OC Happy Tails. The spa-like environment in this cute little house is SO calm and peaceful that you'll want to settle in for a mimosa & pedi! (don't try it, they only do dogs. who knew?!?!) You won't find a mass of canines milling about or barking from crates. No wall of merchandise with long-expired treats taking up space. Just grooming. That's what they do. All in all, besides the amazing attention to detail and quality groom, our normally anxious pup was calm before - AND after. Unheard of. He's now mat-free and as chill as we've ever seen him. My first pup, Rocky.. or better known as RockStar..was always treated like royalty.. always a great cut and always on time drop off and pic up. When Rocky passed away, Shelley shared her love of Rocky with me.. he is missed every day.. BUT.. fast forward.. now there is little Ms Cali. Cali is now 2 and has been going to Shelley since day 1.. What I love the most is how soft, clean and fragrant Milo remains after a visit to this location. When hubby or I bathe him, we never get the same results. This is the worst grooming place ever! I had such a bad experience taking my puppy for grooming there. I was told that I have to leave my puppy there for at least 3 hours although I didn't want to. When I was back to take him he was shaking his head consistently! When I asked why, the answer was because air is going through his ears. But that was not the case!! I saw bruise and cut on both of his ears and took him to his vet right away. My puppy was depressed after that day :( Don't ever take your beloved dog to OC Happy Tail! This is the second time I have taken my dogs here and the ladies here are great with them. Not only do the dogs look beautiful and brand new, their overall attitude is HAPPY! (it's in the name) The dogs got blueberry facials and last time they got it, the scent lasted for weeks. I am very pleased with the service here. I just had my first of many visits to come for my 8 month old Goldendoodle, Charlie. It was his first full "big boy" cut. I was nervous since it was his first. I was thrilled when I saw him.
