We were very impressed with this restaurant, especially located in Blackhawk. We've dined at many restaurants in Vegas and this was reminiscent of that. Also happy to eat at an option other than the standard Buffett. We didn't have a reservation, but we're seated immediately. The decor was beautiful and our service exceeded our expectations. Loved the scallops for an appetizer, the Chilean sea bass is a must try and the cocktails are decently priced. Plus we didn't mind the gifts from the chef, what a surprise bonus! The only negative was the bathroom was a bit far to access-you have to go outside of the restaurant. Other than that, what a pleasant experience! read more

Unfortunately we went in on the wrong night. Celebrating my birthday on a Monday when the general manager was out was an unfortunate choice. The service was the okay although most of our meal we were ignored by our main waiter and had to pour our entire bottle of champagne ourselves. Some of the food was excellent but I do not recommend the scallops as they were not cleaned properly or the ribeye as it was extremely grisly. Disappointing for a $400 meal but I gave them three stars because some of the food was excellent and the waiter did try to redeem himself after everyone else left the restaurant. Pretty hard to ignore us when were the only ones left in the restaurant! read more

Upscale delicious steakhouse conveniently located in the Monarch Casino. The environment was very nice, roses on each table and very comfortable chairs. They offer a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. I had the espresso martini and it was the best espresso martini I've ever had. To start, I had the French onion soup which was delicious. I ordered the filet mignon medium, and it was cooked to perfection. Perfectly pink and tender in the middle with great flavor. I had the béarnaise sauce that came on the side and added some delicious flavor to the steak. We ordered a side of the mashed potatoes, which were also delicious. We were so full after our meal we were planning to skip dessert. Since we were there for a birthday, they offered a dessert on the house so we went with the crème brûlée. Boy were we glad we did. The creme brûlée was incredible. If you like crème brûlée, do not miss out on this!! It came with some fruit on the side and strawberries on top. I would go back just to get this again. Truly incredible. Overall it was a great experience and the service was on point. You will definitely drop some money at this restaurant but it is worth every penny! read more

As you walk into Monarch ChopHouse, you're greeted with an elegant and relaxing lounge area and bar, great for a glass of wine, a drink at the bar top, or you're entire meal. The ambiance includes lounge chairs, attractive flame decor, and a floor to ceiling wine rack. As you sit, you're greeted by fantastic service and food/drinks menus. The dinner area, as seen in photographs, are gorgeous and perfect for a couple or family. The steaks and side are absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend the items prepared table side. There is nothing which gave me the "this is boring," thought. From my meal, I would recommend starting with a caesar salad (phenomenal), enjoying the rib eye (delicious!), pick any side, and finishing the meal with a crème brûlée. The crème brûlée is the best I have ever had. My least favorite was the asparagus. To get personal, I was there with my family and a three year old. Management was very polite and respectful of our child who didn't like to sit still for a long dinner. Customer service and wait staff were phenomenal. Specifically, we had Charles (server) and Troy (table side). Charles was funny, quick witted, knowledgeable, and attentive. I can easily say he was the epitome of a quality server. Whereas, Troy was knowledgeable and described the process of his table side cooking techniques, including ingredients and awareness of any allergies. Troy made the dinner very enjoyable. However, let's not forget about all staff; warm towels were provided before the meal, water was promptly provided and never ran dry one time, wine was filled if we got stuck in conversation, and my plates were cleaned when I was done. With the changes in Monarch Casino Resort & Spa, this casino is definitely my go-to. With amazing food and the level of customer service, Monarch ChopHouse is my go-to dinner before/after an eventful night at the casino. read more

Came to celebrate Fathers Day and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. All of the staff were incredibly pleasant and accomodating. The tomohawk was the best one I've ever had. The king crab was sweet and delightful. we ordered additional chive mashed potatoes to take home. Thr crab risoto wad a little fishy, but everything else wasbfabulous. A great experience from start to finish! Fantastic service and we had "the best seat in the house" in front of the fireplace as it was our anniversary. Steak (baby filet) was cooked perfectly. The beet & burrata salad had very generous helpings of burrata - My philosophy in life is "never too much cheese" so this was right up my alley. Had martinis (1 before dinner in the lounge and one with dinner) and they were made perfectly. Little touches, like the basket of bread served alongside dinner with a variety of fresh bread & biscuits, were welcome. Our other side dish was the sauteed mushrooms, awesome! I also had some french onion soup. MMMMMM... you can tell when it's made with really good stock. So good! We didn't have dessert or wine with dinner but nonetheless enjoyed everything. It's worth every penny to eat here. My one beef is that I wish a dress code was enforced. Saw a few folks looking messy in shorts & flip flops. Eating here feels like a high end experience, and should be treated as such. At least nobody had on a tank top. read more

We had an amazing dinner on October 20, 2021. We ended up here because it was perhaps the only steakhouse in town where there wasn't a 21+ age requirement. We were here with our small children, ages 4 and 6. The bartender was so sweet and made them specialty drinks when we first arrived. The maitre d' was so friendly to our kids and everyone acknowledged her birthday. (We didn't go there for her birthday on purpose--it just ended up that way!) They gave her a special dessert. The food was excellent -- we had the filet mignon, asparagus, the NY Strip Steak, table-side gelato, and creme brulee. Treated with attitude from the start. Hostess did not believe we had a reservation and wanted the name of who took the reservation. As if it were my fault she could not locate the reservation. Ineptitude at its best. The server was, admittedly, more focused on a larger table spending more money than us on wine. Let me just tell u that if u r in the area and looking for a special dinner night out, then u need go no further! Monarch ChopHouse is the place to go! From their expertly prepared food, to their superb customer service, every step of the way was a truly remarkably satisfying experience for our party of 9 (8 adults/1 infant). Here are some dishes that we particularly enjoyed rated 1-10 (although, most were 9 or 10) Complimentary BREAD basket had an assortment of breads (including, but not limited to, slices with flax seed, buns of whole wheat, sticks with garlic, cheddar crisps, etc). (Appetizers) LARGE SHRIMP COCKTAIL - 10 Best shrimp cocktail I ever had! Four shrimp were large, plump and tasted fresh! Squeeze a little lemon on top, dip in cocktail sauce and enjoy with a bite of the greens served on same plate....Very nice! PROSCIUTTO WRAPPED SCALLOPS - 10 Dish came with 3 large scallops wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of greens. We really liked the scallops. Recommend. LETTUCE WEDGE SALAD - 9 My niece ordered this and said that she enjoyed this salad mainly because the lettuce was served ice cold and crisp! Recommend. CAESAR TABLE SIDE SALAD - 9 Johnathan prepared the salad (as the name indicates) at our table side with fresh and authentic ingredients. Smashing the anchovies with some garlic (and other ingredients) to make a delicate dressing, he gently tossed the lettuce to coat before serving it to me. It tasted so very good!!! I only scored it a 9 because he added chopped romaine lettuce. I think that with the excellent presentation Johnathan delivered, the dish would have been more enhanced had he kept the lettuce leave whole. It's jus my preference, but I definitely Recommend. (Sides) WHIPPED CREAMY POTATOES - 10 Pretty basic creamy mashed potatoes, but thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. Recommend. POLENTA - 8 The polenta was served in a glass jar and topped with a tomato sauce or jam, not sure, but I did not care for it, the tomato sauce, not the polenta. I really liked the creamy polenta, which if u don't know, is corn meal. I would probably order this again, but ask to hold the tomato sauce. Recommend. (Main entrees) BISON SHORT RIBS - 10 The short ribs were served with a large braised bone cut in half with bone marrow still in it, which made good on presentation! First time eating bison for me and I liked it. Tasted very much like a pot roast, only deeper and earthier flavor. My bite had a piece of bison meat and mushroom, all smothered with some bone marrow...delicious!! Recommend! STEAK DIANE - 10 This dish was prepared table side by Troy and cooked to order, complete with a cognac flambé, which made for great entertainment, as well. (Desserts) CREME BRÛLÉE- 10 Best creme brûlée that I've ever had! Nice crispy top, creamy custard filling and topped with fresh berries, all made for a winner dessert to end our night. Recommend. GELATO - 10 Another dish created table side for us! Flavor was Strawberry Basil. Tasted similar to Yoplait strawberry yogurt. Recommend. Customer service was excellent, too! Some key players that stood out were: DANIEL - Helped secure us a last minute reservation for our party of 9. He also rolled up his sleeves (metaphorically) and served us a special bite on a spoon, from the chef, a smoked salmon mousse (?) with fish roe. Very nice. CHARLES - Our server, who worked diligently to serve us throughout our entire meal, from beginning to end. We appreciated his determination to make sure he gave us the very best service, no matter the late hour. Thank u for the biscuits and cookies to go and for the amazing stories of growing up in Breckinridge. NOAH - Noah stood out immediately with his gracious and humble demeanor, slightly bowing as he greeted us. Throughout our meal, we never failed to notice Noah's attentiveness to detail, from refilling our water, to removing our used dishes, everything he did resonated with a quiet sense of respect. Thank u, Noah! We noticed. TROY - We were pleasantly surprised by Troy. Not only did he prepare two of our table side dishes expertly, but he also proved to be an encyclopedia of information! Giving alllll the stars possible for this excellent chophouse!!! We made a reservation on Open Table that went sideways and the amazing manager Jonathan went above and beyond to fix the problem and make our triple celebratory dinner happen (wedding anniversary and 2 milestone birthdays so a big deal!). Cannot thank Jonathan enough! He greeted us upon our arrival, assigned one of the best servers to us, and started us off with a champagne toast! Everything including food, staff, cocktails, wine, ambiance was top notch. Everyone ordered something different it seemed and everyone was very satisfied. My personal recommendations are the filet, Caesar salad, French onion soup, and asparagus. Wine bottles priced reasonably. Presentation of every part of our meal was perfection! It's a little pricey compared to other BH restaurants but soooo worth it!! Splurge a little on yourself and you won't be disappointed!! The food was very good. It was not amazing but take in account, I am hard to please. I did not like the electronic background lit menu. That messed with my eyes a little as it did not compliment the restaurants ambiance. Now, the service was amazing. There was a hiccup with running out of Bulleit Rye (not sure how that is even possible) and a lack of communication with the bartender and the server but I can deal with that. What I appreciated with regardless of the mistake, the server and their support staff never stopped trying to give the best. I really appreciated the constant watchful eye and the teamwork. I am a huge fan of customer service and when it comes to fruition, not only as an individual but as a team....I am impressed. The noise level was moderate but that was due to a very happy party of individuals behind us which only made us laugh and enjoy our time even more. Also, I am a bourbon/tequila guy and I wish they had a more extensive bourbon selection than that that I would find at the local liquor store. Monarch Chophouse, do not stop on the customer service. I am a self-admitted foodie with high expectations for dining establishments who are at the top of their game in all the aspects that combine to make an upscale restaurant a singular pleasure to visit. I'll start by saying that my expectations were not only satisfied but actually exceeded during a recent dinner at the Monarch Chop House. Firstly, for those dubious that a fine dining experience is an oxymoron in a hotel, let alone a casino-hotel, you can put those doubts to rest. There is an entrance very close to the entry to the dining room and bar so those who wish to can avoid the hotel and the gaming areas completely if so desired. That is an example of the kind of planning that reveals the intention to create a special, private atmosphere where the service and cuisine are the stars with no distractions from buzzing slot machines and boisterous crap tables. The greeting at the lobby was genuinely warm and enthusiastic. We felt welcomed and appreciated. Our server was new-ish but well-trained, patient with questions and unerring with his wine recommendations. As the evening progressed, the attention to every detail became more and more evident. From the linen tablecloths to the impeccable cutlery and china to the uniqueness of an extra-large backlit menu (!) nothing has escaped the management's discerning eyes. My GF and I had a tough time choosing our meal but decided to start with lobster mac and cheese and bison short ribs. The mac had the creamiest cheese sauce to complement the large chunks of delectable lobster. The bison ribs were a revelation; perfectly medium rare, falling off the large bone with its marrow as an extra treat and memorably delicious to the last bite. Looking around a nearly full room on a Monday evening, I saw the "Fred Flintstone" Tomahawk steaks (next time), several traditional steakhouse tableside preparations and happy campers everywhere. This is a true steakhouse with all the traditions brought up to the 21st century; a combination of expertise and elegance from the kitchen to the plate. As we lingered over our dessert (amazing house-made sorbet), the Manager, Daniel Hoctor, dropped by to ensure we were enjoying our night out. We got along so well, we had an extended conversation about his vision and Monarch's dedication to their uncompromised goal of perfection. Daniel has the most engaging personality. His enthusiasm is real and contagious. This is a man on a mission. He made it clear that he is proud of the current standards but he has every intention, with the full support of the resort owners, to take the Chop House to legendary status. Judging by our time with him, the ambience and out of this world food and wine, he is well on his way to making a journey to Blackhawk an absolute must for those who know a great steak and its culinary accompaniments served with elan in an oasis of dining pleasure that feels like your own private club. The experience our group had at this restaurant is nothing short of impeccable. The staff was attentive and the food was delicious. We had drinks in the bar until our table was ready, and the bar tender checked in multiple times with us to make sure our drinks were good. Once we were seated, they sent out multiple chef special small plates to keep our tummy's from growling and the bread offerings were tasty. The steaks and sides were incredible. They say the sides serve two, but if you are hungry, you could easily have a side to yourself. Great staff, great atmosphere and great food. Pricey, but worth every penny. read more

I had made reservation for a special dinner with my 80 year old mom two weeks prior. We reserved the table for 6PM. At 5PM i called to see if they can take us early. Was told to come in, and then when we got there, was told they didn't have a table for us, and that we had to wait until 6PM. That was fine. There were no one seated until 6:oo PM, and i watched as 4 tables were sat as soon as they walked in from 6:00-6:30. I guess that these people were VIP. And apparently my money was not as green as theirs. I asked about my table again, and was told it was not ready yet. This is 30min past our reservation time! And we have been sitting for 1.5 hour waiting. I have never felt so much like a 2nd class citizen! I do not know if its because of my ethnicity. We were the only folks that were non-caucasian. We ended up walking out. I have never been more disappointed in a place. I have waited tables for many years, and have never judged people on what they looked like, or how people decided to dress. And for the fact that I have worked in this business, I am a very generous tipper! If I am served, I start my tipping at 30%. The service was horrible! We went up on a Saturday evening and asked if they had anything open for 2 because when we tried to call to reserve a table we go sent to voicemail, so they took our number and said they would text us when a table was ready. I politely asked them how long do they think the wait is and they said they couldn't tell us. So we went back out to Che k out the casino and shortly after received a text telling us our table was ready. The host then sat us in the bar lounge area only to wait another 30 minutes as another person after us was waited on before us. They tried to fix the situation only to get us a table on the lounge area. We ordered right away since we waited so long for the table only to wait another 40 minutes until we had to tell a manager we didn't get our food yet. The manager tried to fix it and sent us out our good 5 minutes after chatting with him and Comped thx meal but we were served basically raw meat! It was a horrible experience and I'd never suggest this to anyone nor will I ever go back. read more
