I'll never use Penske again -- even with a reservation, they told me no truck was available a night before.Terrible experience. Monarch Truck, on the other hand, was outstanding!!! Their customer service was top-notch: prompt, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Simi went above and beyond, even sending me pictures to guide me for the after-hours drop-off. The truck itself was in excellent condition and the whole rental process was smooth and stress-free. If you want reliability and great service, Monarch Truck is the way to go. I rented a flatbed truck from Monarch Truck and it was an awesome experience. Their manager Nickole was very friendly and made sure that truck was all ready before we went to pick up. Customer be aware!!! It's the most bad experience with their rental service especially how their managers Shelly deal with the things with us,rude and aggressive! On Nov 9th,we rent a 26ft truck from Monarch and state that we need to go to LA,they provide a truck which after we load the furnitures on the way to LA in the night,we got a notice from the police men that the brake lights is not illuminate and ask us to go back,the pic show as attach,then we have to stop and change a truck,then horribly we find that the inside of the box truck have leaking and all of our furnitures are get wet because of the whole night rain.we spend another 5hours to change the truck and On Nov 10th when we finish we send the truck back and explain everything to Monarch,they said their customer will contact us on Mon Nov 13th. Right,On Nov 13th their manager did contact me and said could offer me 10%of the bill discount,I explained again that if their trucks brake light doesn't goes off I will not need to return the truck and if they do check the leakage inside my furnitures will not get wet.They insists that's not their problem and could offer me 20% and state that the truck is ok. And they will not ask me to fix the brake light!that ridiculous!We can't get agreement and they just charged me in full bill at the end. I was depressed not only because of the truck problem,even through I have to pay the movers for changing the truck and compensate the wet furnitures.most important their attitude towards the customer ,very rude and aggressive. I attach the pic of the problem which apparently showed the truck we get on that day,brake light doesn't illuminate and the floor is wet when we return the truck. I will definitely contact bbb to file this complaint and hope all the customer and moving company could be aware of this rental company. read more

I had a wonderful experience renting with Christina. I called and she was very friendly and helpful and was able to get me a truck same day. Upon arrival I was greeted by Christina, she was able to get me out of there in in 10 minutes. The truck ran great and was clean. I'll definitely be renting from here again. read more

I reserved a truck (via phone with Chris) on Monday to be picked up for Wednesday at 7am. I hired a few people for that morning and all drove to Union City to pick up the truck. As we're pulling into their driveway, I get a short/non-apologetic email (NOT a phone call) from Chris saying that there is no truck, without offering a solution. I wasted my time driving to Union City + wasted my money hiring people for the day when there was no truck ready. Monarch - I suggest calling customers the night before or at least 1 hour before pick-up if their truck is not ready. It's common curtesy. I will not be doing business with this establishment again. read more

Monarch Truck save me. My 2005 GMC W4500 had turbo failure in June and my truck was undriveable. I rented a truck from Ashley who is the manger there and she gave me a great deal while I was deciding on what truck to buy. I went with the 2020 Isuzu NPR HD 14 FT. Monarch Truck Has turn key trucks in stock. The have them with lift gates all already on them. I own a large party rental company and having a lift gate is a must. Monarch Truck had one in stock and a great lease to own option. My sales man Ben went the extra mile with me. He answered all me dumb questions and even washed the truck when I picked it up because the wash guy was out that day. If you need to get your box truck serviced this is the place. Very disappointed, I called to get a rate on renting a truck. The woman I spoke to on the phone wasn't very polite, she quoted me a really high rate, and when I told her I had spoke to someone else there before and was quoted a lower rate seemed like she got more upset. Not good. read more

Alot better than Penske, but more costly. Trucks are nice and clean and well maintained, they provide straps which is nice. If we didn't have a national contract with Penske I'd use Monarch always. read more

We needed a mirror for our truck and they didn't have the item in stock however, after our guy had just left there they received their shipment. Go figure!! They notified us immediately to see if we could catch our guy but he had already made it back. Being that we are in Dublin and they are in Union City although not too far it was more about the time. Not only did they feel bad for having to ship the unit to us they split the cost of shipping just because they are nice guys. I would recommend them for anything in regards to truck parts. My frustration with Monarch has been building over the last few years and may just be a reflection of a busy economy and the absence of other choices. We have purchased our Isuzu NPR trucks from Monarch in the past and in turn have had the service done by them. Since this is our only truck, when we have our vehicle serviced we also rent a truck from them. And therein lies my issue. Since they are making money from the rental, there seems to be a total lack of urgency to get our repaired vehicle out in a timely manner. Our most recent incident was as follows: we recently had a hole in our oil pan and took the truck in for repair. They had it from April 13th until April 30th (17 days) And all the while we were renting a truck from them. Our total bill for this repair was $1344.60 for the oil pan, which is reasonable, and another $2035.00 for the rental, for a grand total of $3379.60. Another time they had our truck for almost a month while they waited for parts on body work to the cargo box. The truck could have been driven and had we known ti would be that long, we would have hung on to it until they were ready for us, rather than rent. They did make a concession on a portion of the rental fee, but again - it seems when you have an alternative revenue stream by renting, the desire to turn the repair around in a timely manner is greatly diminished since it's a "win win" either way. read more
