I haven't been in here in about 10 years since when it had a target and a forever21. I go out of my way to go to towson town center even tho I live 10 mins away but I had to get something that was available at the this claires location. I thought the location was really sketch and it had gone downhill since I've been here but the people in here are so nice/heartwarming and have hearts of gold. I had too much stuff and my young kid wouldnt go down the escalator without me so this lady who happen to be nearby matter of factly took his hand and rode him down the escalator and wouldnt accept a word of thanks. I only come in the early morning when the stores are about to open so I have no experience in this mall when there's heavy traffic. However, the parking lot and mall are always clean. I even felt like I could "mall walk" for exercise here because it's the perfect length from one end to the other for "mall walking". I'm not going to lie though, I thought this mall was going to be gheeeettto because of everything I've heard and because it's in Baltimore; while the people, for the most part are nice, the city is a big ghetto. My apologies if I offended anyone but it's true. They have nice parts but the urban areas which is most of the city are depressing to look at. Honestly Mondawmin mall isn't as bad as people make it seem. And by people, I mean me too lol. I haven't been to this mall since I was teenager. I specifically came here to find sneakers and there's an ample amount of tennis shoe stores to choose from. Everyone was friendly and the mall was well kept. Parking lot was a mess. It appears no one cleans up throughout the day here. The doors need fixing, almost got my hand closed up in the door. Have not been to this mall since the new renovations. I see that is it well lit, nice floors and easy to find stores. Not enough security inside or outside. The lot where I parked was not well lit, and was alarming since crime is climbing. read more

It's a interesting mall with alot of urban wear , rainbow citi trends journeys ashley stewart. Basically you can find something for a cruise or a beach vacation to Cabo or Cancun , or locally Miami Beach. It's filled with alot of families and teenagers as well as older folks shopping. I could tell it's a favorite among the locals . Some clothing stores are comparable to lovely wholesale shein fashion nova. Food spot like popeyes and a asian spot was filled with people . And plenty of security not sure if it's common but with the look of the crowd it was needed. Parking was free and it's 2 levels and has a deceit restroom . It's located in the local neighborhood near a grocery store and a ross with walking distance. read more

I made the mistake of visiting the Boost Mobile kiosk at this mall. The employees were so RUDE AND unprofessional. I rarely patronize this mall at they are one of the reasons why. They had the nerve to try to treat me like I could fraud them in some way. I didn't feel comfortable giving my credit card information to these people. I should have immediately LEFT my purchase right there and drove someplace else to get my services. And it wasn't just me. They were rude to other customers and even to a senior citizen asking about service. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this mall if you need to purchase anything besides cookies. read more

The prior reviews of this place couldn't be more wrong. Yes, this is an "urban mall" - stop being secretly racist and say what you're thinking. Yes, you're going to see a LOT of African Americans here, and yes, some of them are going to be playing rap loudly in their cars and probably offending your uptight, suburban sensibilities. To be fair, this mall IS located in the middle of some pretty rough neighborhoods, but don't let that stop you from coming here - most people here are shopping just like you are and they're minding their own business. I promise. I'm as Caucasian as you can get, and I've never been approached in a "wrong" way here. As a matter of fact, my disabled mother was trying to get out of her car and one of these supposed "ghetto thugs" was actually kind enough to stop and assist her - I've never seen THAT happen at the Towson mall. Ever. The variety at Mondawmin has increased over the years. There's your usual clothing and shoe stores, but they've put in a lot of new features and the mall, as noted in a previous review, is extremely clean. They don't have a lot of high end stores, but there is a Target attached to the mall that has done very well, as well as Marshall's. If you're a plus-sized female, this place is heaven for you - they have an Avenue, Torrid (which is NOT a cheap store, believe me), and Ashley Stewart. Mondawmin used to be kind of bad, but it's actually thriving in an atmosphere where the traditional shopping mall has either died (Owings Mills Mall) or is failing badly (Marley Station). You have to give them cred for that - they know their target audience and they provide. And, as noted, it's the oldest mall in Baltimore City, as well as the ONLY one. This mall has the closest grocery store to me (Shoppers) as well as the closest Target, so as far as I'm concerned, that makes me an automatic customer right there. As a 50+ woman, with lots of "urban" experience I LOVE Mondawmin Mall. To date, I have never had any issues with any "thugs" It is the way most young ones dress - get over it. They have the best Marshall's - why? Because everyone is afraid to come to Mondawmin. Deals galore, but you have to look. The Post Office is quite user friendly for those who like to sleep in - they open at noon. Plus a Shoppers and Target and it does not get much better. There are plenty of other malls for folks in Baltimore. However, if you love shopping and great deals, hit Marshall's. I have not yet been to Ross, but it is now open as well. I can't figure out why people need to keep defending this mall and making it sound like its a safe place. I was here with my friend recently out of curiosity and boredom. I've heard bad things about Mondawmin Mall before but I never really believed the stories. However, after only 20 minutes of being here we witnessed a lady's purse get stolen and the guy ran off with it. Needless to say we left immediately and will not be back. I have heard stories in the past of people getting mugged here, phones getting stolen, ect. These are not made up stories. Stop sugar coating it and pulling the race card. I am a black girl from the Towson area and this mall was too ghetto for me! I have family members who live close to the mall and they dont recommend anyone go to this mall either. Why risk your belongings and safety to go to this mall that has so little to offer? Please do not believe the positive reviews about this place. Never go to this mall, there solicitors just outside entrance of the mall that will threaten to physically assault you if don't buy their counterfeit perfumes. This has happened to me twice now. In my 3 times visiting in the last year. First time I just thought it was a one off thing. Second time different people approached me, I declined their offer and they immediately became aggressive, Yelling, name-calling, and threatening. This place gets a bad rap. I mean, it's not Columbia Mall or Towson Town Center, but it serves a purpose. Yes, when I walk through the door, I am asked by 3 different people if I need a ride. Yes, I am subjected to bad language, inappropriate clothing, and some unsavory characters on occasion. Nonetheless, the mall is airy, clean, and I, generally, don't have any problems with my service. This mall is only suggested for things that you cannot find at the popular malls such as Tyson's corner, arundel mills mall, Annapolis mall and columbia mall. I really dislike coming here due to the fact of the younger crowd of ppl are rude and disrespectful. If you want something urban but fashionable, I recommend " USA BOUTIQUE " or " JIMMY JAZZ " also I like the fact that " USA BOUTIQUE " has rare tennis that you won't be able to find anywhere else unless you order them online. Crowded for a Thursday. I wasn't expecting the mall to be this crowed on a Thursday morning I usually come here to get my hair cut. I was surprise that Mondawmin has a couple if new stores on the upper level. One of these new stores a a cinnamon pastry shop which is always crowded. Mondawmin has really changed over the years for the best. In my opinion mondawmin is now becoming a much more friendly and safer mall. I could remember a time when it was to dangerous for family's to visit this inner city mall. I don't come here often,but when I do it is always a pleasant experience. We were in & out today my daughter knew what store may have the shoes she was looking for so we went straight there made our purchase and left. Strike is the name of the store it's our 2nd time purchasing shoes there. It is a small shop with a nice selection of both men & womens shoes, accessories and mens clothing. The store is neat & clean and has a nice sitting area with chocolate leather furniture. The sales guy was attentive & let us browse without the annoying follow u around type of behavior u get sometimes shopping in the inner city. If u want a trendy shoe, handbag or something nice for the Mr. Strike is a good place to start. read more

I had never been to this mall before but was on my way to Towson and needed a CapitalOne. There's plenty of parking. The teller was friendly and let me know that the Marshalls was actually a good one- she was right! There's also a Dunkin right upstairs which was great. read more

I have not been in the Mall since it had remodeling done, and yesterday I needed to go somewhere close by. When I entered the Mall I was surprise how update all the stores where, and it made me feel like I wanted to return. Also there was a Mars halls and Target just like some of the other Malls. This mall gets a bad wrap. I'm a white woman and felt very comfortable at this mall. Several people warned me not to go here, but I felt it was very safe. Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon after work, very busy mall. The inside of the mall was immaculate. I didn't walk the whole mall, but walked past a Forever 21 store that was nice. My reason for going was returning items to The Children's Place. The store was the biggest and most organized Children's Place I had ever seen with very helpful staff. I will say the mall parking lot was a little confusing. A little out of my way, but I may return occasionally to return items to The Children's Place. Give this place a chance. read more

Honestly, this mall was shit. First when we went to T-Mobile, we were asked how old we were and they said we can't be in the stores when we're under 21 and that's just bullshit. We went to Target to charge my phone and they let us do it and when we went back to get lunch, security and us were arguing because of the curfew and the fact that we weren't Baltimore residents. They thought we were in school, but I already graduated. I see no point in going back here since this mall is fucking ghetto and strict. At the new Fridays. ..the decor is really nice loving the open kitchen the bar is great. .Cant say so much about the service though. ..came in for lunch. .I love Friday's so of course I have tons of stripes point but they don't know how to cash them out. I have never had to wait 20 mins to use my points this is crazy. I hope this food is better than my service who knows how its going to be my lunch time is almost over and my food is more than likely cold. Just sitting here waiting for a manager to cash my points, I hear a lady complaing about her food, I am so not looking forward to this food. If my food is jacked up I am going to spazz. I wrote this review over a year ago and I strongly feel the need to update it. Mondawmin has truly changed and turned into a well respected mall. After the Baltimore Riots and being vandalized- this mall has managed to pick up as if NOTHING EVER HAPPENED! They now have a Friday's, Family Dollar, and Macy's. There is security always at the front and back entrance always willing to help when needed. As far as the kids there is actually a serious school curfew that they enforce during school hours but in the summer that's when everyone is allowed to enter whenever. I am now a regular at this mall! read more

Terrible customer service in majority of the stores. Rude girls gossiping that dont pay attention to you whatso ever. Madrag and Gallo were the worst! Two young girls at gallo had me standing like a fool waiting to get their attention for a fitting room as they were more worried about fixing the playlist. They were the only ones working i saw. Madrag was ratchet af. The girls do not talk to you or help you. . And in the stores that are mostly east indian people working are shady! I went to one of the 3 and i felt sexually harrassed. I picked up a boot to see the price and he kept making innapropriate comments and calling me "sexy lady" if you want better customer service go to leatherman they are super nice and will give you good prices. the store "exclusive" is too small to have 6-8 ppl working!
