They also had a variety of sandwiches (club, grilled ham & cheese, etc.), starters, salads, and Asian foods such as gyoza, teriyaki, and spring rolls. They had an impressive number of mostly regional beers and ciders on tap (around 8?) and even more by the bottle/can. My son had the bulgogi burger, which had bulgogi on top of a burger with bacon and cheese. I had the Mondo special, with bulgogi teriyaki. The meat was excellent, tender and not gristly. Our family stopped by yesterday for lunch. We were a party of 12. One thing that I noticed was the professionism the staff displayed. They seemed to like their jobs and what they do. I had selected the Marblemount Burger. It was truly the best burger that I've ever had. Others around the table said good things about their selections like french dip and halibut and chips. So, if you're driving along State Route 20, this is a good place to stop for lunch. I'm glad we stopped there. read more

This is a restaurant in Marblemount that gives classic, small town diner vibes with an eclectic selection of decor, and they serve Asian food as well as burgers of various kinds. Burgers that stood out to me include the bison and elk, and my friend and I got the elk and kobe burger and shared half of each. Both orders come with fries and they are not just the filler fries. The fries are actually crunchy and very good - nicely seasoned and salted with the right amount of potato in each fry. The burgers are fairly solid although on the more expensive side. 1 burger after tax and tip (the special ones at least) can bring you up to $30 after tax and tip. However, the burgers are very high quality and we are in a fairly remote place so naturally, costs are higher. The elk burger I requested medium and it was very flavorful and juicy. The recommendation is medium rare or medium so that the meat does not get too dry. The kobe burger is very flavorful and slightly sweet, and the patty is fairly large. It came with the usual fixings and a Mondo sandwich sauce. They also have teriyaki sauce on the table that I did not end up trying because the food itself was good and flavorful enough without. read more

The food was amazing! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was hot and juicy and the red onions were so fresh that I could taste them all the way home! That was an hour and a half drive! The lemonade was so refreshing it wasn't bitter and it came with two lemon slices as well! The fries were hot and crunchy on the outside and hot and soft on the inside. Not to mention that they have elk, bison, waygu, ostrich burgers as well! Will definitely be back to try some of those! read more

Great service, really good food. I'm not a burger person and I know this is a burger restaurant but I found great food that I liked. This place is a real gem. It's a great, low key ambience that has plenty of room. They have a huge alcohol selection and you can purchase some to take home too. The service was phenomenal - had multiple staff members come and check regularly, followed up, etc. The food...wow overall. The apps were ok, but the entrees...we ordered the Bulgogi and the PNW burger, and both were phenomenal. Very authentic, tender, juice, and great portions. I'm still dreaming about that burger - the patty was top tier (bun was ok). Definitely go here if you are around, and go hiking to make sure you can splash out! read more

After a killer hike to Lookout Mountain, our group was too pooped to cook at the campsite. A quick dip in the Cascade River and a change of clothes got us semi-civilized enough for a trip into town for dinner at Mondo. We were happy to find a large picnic table outside (and the guests inside were no doubt happy too). This is such a good place, with an eclectic menu featuring Asian specialties as well as burgers and sandwiches. Their beer list is lengthy and equally eclectic, with selections from the Northwest, the US and the world. I had the chicken teriyaki with egg rolls, which was a giant portion and included a very tasty full-size salad as well. The staff were all so attentive and friendly and everyone's food was great too. I was pretty blown away by Mondo! We tried a nearby eatery but they appeared to be seriously understaffed, with a long wait to even get someone to come over to put our name on a list. I called Mondo to see if they could seat us and they said "YES, COME!" After a long day of hiking, that's what I wanted to hear. We were seated immediately, our order was taken immediately, and we had our food within 10 minutes. They have a little bit of everything. The bulgogi Was very good, especially wi Th their house made teriyaki sauce. The grilled cheese was also well reviewed. The side salads were a good amount of food with several dressing options. They have a large drink menu, including several ciders (in cans). The staff were all friendly and so fast--they were all working like crazy. The decor is delightfully eclectic. Expectations weren't high, but for $22 a plate we were served the equivalent of three pieces of frozen fish patties from your local market, same for the fries and the rest of the assortment. I take issue with this mostly because the menu specifically said local and hand battered. For the price and the menu being misleading, I can't give them more than one star. Salad wasn't even similar to Dennys but more like a side salad from Jack in the box. That said, the bulk of their menu is burgers and I'd recommend sticking to the burgers. We visited this place because we were hungry after visiting North Cascades NP and this is the closest restaurant. However, it's a very interesting hidden gem in this small town. The place was owned by a Korean lady I believe and the menu has both traditional American and asian food. This gem is located about 13 miles from North Cascades NP's Visitor Center/Newhalem campgrounds. I visited there last summer, mid-way through (I HOPE) the pandemic. It says it comes with bacon as well. The sandwich was of poor quality, the cheese was still cold (despite it being grilled) and there was one piece of 1/2 cooked bacon. We ordered: - BLT with fries - chicken wrap with fries The Asian food caught my eye, but I needed something simple before hitting to the trail so I stuck with a BLT. This place is fantastic and a real reminder why chain burger places can only be so good. It was hot, fresh, juicy, and the type of place you imagine was on diners, drive-ins, and dives. It was seriously amazing. We stayed at an RV site nearby and after the one burger at Mondo we contemplated eating our own food from then on out. We're going to plan our trip next time with Mondo in mind so we can just eat their food instead of ours. The staff was also very attentive, helpful, and was happy to get our kids a coloring book, extra pickles, and a strawberry milkshake that blew our kid's mind off. My girlfriend and I stopped here after going to Diablo Lake and Cascadian Farm. There's not a whole lot of choices for food in the area especially during Covid. We only ordered apps. We got coconut shrimp, asian chicken bites and onion rings. These were about $10 each. All of them were average pre-made frozen things deep fried. Like you dropped by Trader Joes and bought these out of the freezer section. The chicken was very aggressively fried and I feel like I almost chipped a tooth on one. If they were like $6-7 bucks each I'd be like whatever due to the location, but at $10 bucks each I'd skip it. Some of their actual burgers and asian entrees looked better though so maybe just go for those if you are here. read more

I ordered the Mondo Special which looks like a burger, but it's actually their thinly sliced teriyaki beef. Messy deliciousness. 4 napkins at least. The fries are delicious. Double fried I think so great crunchiness on the outside. This is a big restaurant and there weren't a lot of staff working so if you need something, flag someone down. They are attentive, but won't be hovering. What was especially impressive to me was the number of groups of 5, 6, even 9 who walked in and were seated immediately. No muss, no fuss. The back of the restaurant has souvenirs, pastry case, cold beverages in bottles and snack foods. Awesome little place just outside North Cascades. We had breakfast after picking up our backcountry permit, and decided to come back the next day for lunch it was so good! Clean bathrooms, and a little convenience store section where you can get beer/cider/wine. The pancakes were divine! And the bison burger was excellent.
