Monellis has a well rounded menu and haven't had a dish I didn't like. Good portions. The free bread is gas, and I recommend their chicken piccata. I got here a little early lunch in Sunday. Started out quiet and became crowded by the time we finished eating. I had a pesto panini with grilled chicken. It was delicious. We always have fast, courteous service here. The bar side can be a bit noisy, but it's spacious and fun. The restaurant side is well-separated from the bar area, so noise is not an issue. The menu is extensive! Wait staff is always helpful with finding dishes to accomodate our food sensitivities. My favorite dishes here are the risotto and the PIZZA!! The lunch buffet seems to have a good selection, though I've not tried it. The bread and butter served while waiting for the meal are delish, as well! Prices are fair, not too pricey. Business had me in town 6 months out of the last 8. I tried this place a couple of times and dislike it. If you are from out of town don't go ,specifically if you want to watch your hometown football team. I came in early, on a Sunday asked the Bartender if I could get a small nearby TV (they have like 50) on the game I wanted and she said "sure". My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner and started with the amazing bread and holy moly great garlic butter to spread !! Then we ordered an appetizer. We chose the Beer cheese with pretzels , we are pretzel lovers! And wow! They were soooo amazing! The pretzels were PERFECTLY baked! They were so fat and yummy! The beer cheese was perfect! I got the Sicilian sirloin steak, which is a 10 oz USDA choice sirloin marinated olive oil and Sicilian spices. Your entree comes with a potato (sweet potato but I don't like them so we asked what we can substitute them for and they said red potatoes or fries) and a vegetable (that day was green beans) and you get to pick soup or salad to go with your dinner, I chose soup (minestrone of course) it was ok, not as good as I'd like and kind of spicy. Finally dinner came, the fries were delicious! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! Simply perfect!! The green beans were great, and the steak ugggh that steak is something that I'd dream about, something that would wake me from a dead sleep to munch on at 2am!!! Perfect seasoning, amazingly cooked! Used to love this place, but it has gone downhill recently. Food quality is much less, and prices have gone up. Usually, I order the SouthWest Chicken Salad, but the last time I ordered it the chicken portion was so small. Also, it was incredibly salty. It was so salty, my mouth was burning and I couldn't eat beyond a few bites. The waiter said that it comes from the seasoning on the tortilla chips. They did give me a portion of the cost off of the salad, but it really should have been taken off completely or replaced. In addition, it seems that every time we go recently there are so many loud, screaming, and unruly children in the dining room. Part of this is not the problem of the restaurant, it is the responsibility of parents. However, when kids are spitting on food that is being brought out table to table (not my food but someone's) and when the kid is screaming so loud I can't hear myself think from across the room, I do believe management should intervene in these situations. I asked my husband to remind me that next time I suggest going out to Monelli's, he remind me why we shouldn't go there anymore. read more

This is a fun spot on South westnedge. It has two sides a sports bar side and a dining room side was a little quieter we opted for the dining room side since this was date night in the middle of the week. Service here it was fast friendly and efficient. We ordered a baked penne pasta that came piping hot and covered in melted mozzarella cheese.. it was big enough to take half home and still be full. The red sauce on the pasta had a little sweetness to it which really enhance the noodles and the noodles were tender al dente perfect to hold up to the sauce. read more

I got the spaghetti with meat sauce, the pasta was cooked perfectly but I found the sauce way too sweet. Use more tomato sauce and less paste, it tastes like someone added too much sugar to the sauce. My partner ordered the chicken finger dinner. I tired the chicken, delicious! My husband and I stopped here for dinner one night as we were passing through town. We were a bit hesitant with the 3.5 star rating plus we tried to hit Texas road house prior but didn't want to wait their expected wait time. HOWEVER, after our experience, we believe this place is very UNDER rated. Let's start with Wait time: It was dinner rush on a Saturday, so obviously busy. Plus businesses are still struggling for help and then COVID restrictions, all that jazz... we figured we would have to wait a while. At the counter we were informed our wait would be about 30 min- super reasonable (especially considering the wait at Texas road house was 1 hr 45 min). They have a seating system so you're able to see how many parties are in front of you, your expected wait time, etc. -which is nice! Turns out they were able to seat us in about 15 min. Service: everyone was friendly. The person who checked us in, the gentleman bussing tables, staff we encountered in the restaurant. Our waiter, not sure his name, was a gentleman with long blondish hair. He was very pleasant & attentive. Our food came out in a timely manner and was good and hot :). The food: we got the cheesy bread sticks, chicken parm and Alfredo with broccoli. The main dishes came with a side salad and bread was provided as a freebie. I'm a picky Alfredo person- I don't like when the Alfredo is super thin or foamy. This had good flavor and was creamy so good. Chicken parm had great flavor. The chicken was a good thickness too, it's disappointing when it's like 95% breading but this was well done . The cheesy bread was all the cheesy goodness it should be with the right amount of garlic! Portions: large portions. We were super hungry and definitely over ordered but we're planning on left overs for a few nights Cleanliness: the place was clean. No sticky tables. I've visited Monelli's many times but never really gave their pasta a chance (mostly because the sandwiches are so good). On this particular visit I decided that a seafood pasta dish was happening and I'm sure glad I made that choice. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the seafood was abundant, which I thought was awesome! The server was attentive to every need and even though they were very busy; made it a point to stop back a few times during the visit to ensure that everything was on point. It was a special birthday and my guest was treated to a complimentary dessert that was as good as the meal itself. Got two take-out subs for lunch: Italian and Chicken Parmesan. The Italian needs some acidity and herbs. It doesn't really taste like much but bland cheese and mayo. By the time it got to my house (just a few minutes) it was soggy and when I bit into it all the meat came out of the back because of all the mayo. Not a good sandwich. The Chicken Parmesan, however, is typical. If you are craving one this will probably satisfy you but I would like for them to use a sharp provolone and more herbs. For a restaurant with a huge supply chain they don't really seem to use high quality ingredients. It seems more like they are playing it safe with pasta sauce and cheese to create these bland sandwiches. read more

We went to Monelli's for a quick lunch between meetings. We ate in the restaurant side- it was clean with lots of open tables. The service was quick which we appreciated and the server checked in with us frequently. We started with cucumber martinis. A little on the sweet side but delicious! We ended up having two, not too strong. I had an Italiano Panino sandwich (not sure why it wasn't just called a panini). It was wonderful. It had all kinds of Italian meats with fresh mozzarella, greens & a balsamic reduction- toasted perfectly. I wasn't a huge fan of the chips, pretty bland (probably should've tried the fries). My coworker got what looked like a bun-less burger (?) didn't look very appetizing to me but she ate it and didn't complain! Overall for a sports bar I think they do a good job. The food is quality, but the service is awful. They are still offering patio seating throughout the day. But one of the heating towers was broken and no waiter came to the table for 10 minutes. Once a waiter came out, she told us that the patio has last call at 7:30 pm, this was at 7:19 pm. Basically telling us we could do takeout, but dining would have to be rushed into that time and that the patio closed at 7:45 pm. Earlier in the day, I called multiple times and was told that the patio closed to new walk ins at 8:00pm. I said very specifically, "if I came in at 7:30 pm, that would be fine?" I was told yes, that would be fine, and that I would still be served even if it was after 8:00 pm. The information being told to customers is not consistent. When I called and asked about 7:30 pm specifically, nobody said that last call was 7:30 pm. Each person that I talked to had different times that they told me. Since the heating was broken, the waiter invited us inside to place our take out orders. While inside deciding for 5 minutes, our party could hear staff members talking about us. Extremely disappointing. I brought friends from out of town to Monelli's because it was really good, and after this experience, I regret recommending this place for my friends birthday dinner. This is simply staff not wanting to provide the services they are supposed to offer and poor communication by staff members. read more

My husband took me here for my birthday today. Food was good ! Service was "alright", just slow. She wasn't terrible but also not stellar. Definitely would not meet "secret shopper standards" by any means. The cocktail drinks were terrible. I ordered a Winter Sun and it was awful. I couldn't drink it, and and neither could my husband - which is VERY telling if he couldn't . The Pepperoni Rolls were great, and so was the SW chicken salad . My husband said his lobster fettuccine was good. He compares it to Bahama Breeze's seafood fettuccine. Lastly , I was a bit bummed that they don't offer free birthday desserts for birthdays, or do anything in general for birthday celebrations . I was extremely full but I would have gladly taken a to go box for a desert and had it later lol. Overall, the take always from my visit would be that food was great . Large portions . Plan to get a to go box. Stay away from the cocktails . Stick to beer only (safer option), and don't come on a birthday , if you're expecting a free dessert . This place has a nice outdoor patio with fireplace. We came mostly cause we wanted to sit outdoors. The service was great. We had super fruit Moscow mules which were prepared well. Before ordering I politely mentioned that I have to eat gluten free. I am always reasonable that restaurants are not able to accommodate this request but Monelli's proudly lists gluten free options on the menu. Cool! I ordered the olive burger without the bun (medium rare) with a side salad as the waitress told me the fries could be contaminated in the fryer. Cool, she gets it! My burger came out on a bun. I mentioned it and she apologized, saying she would have it remade. Cool! She left and I looked down at my salad (covered in croutons). The burger did come back out, charred and well done inside. Poor experience overall and I really did not put up a fuss because I know servers are treated poorly these days. read more
