It's been a hot minute since I have been to this Mongolian BBQ. We frequented this place a couple times a month a few years back. After all of our visits, we decided to take a break. Too much of a good thing can be bad. I didn't want to cook tonight so we decided to go to Mongolian BBQ for dinner. We entered through the back entrance. We did stand in the front for a minute. We didn't want to just seat ourselves just in case. The server was busy chatting with some customers so the chef told us to go ahead and grab a table. We got ourselves situated and headed towards the noodle bar. I love how many veggie options they have. Cabbage, broccoli, zucchini, carrots. The possibilities are endless. I loaded my bowl up with veggies and sauces. I don't know what the hell I'm doing sometimes with the sauces but it always ends up turning out good! Our server was a little disorganized and disoriented. She gets caught up talking to guests and then loses track of what she needed to do. I had to remind her a couple times of our drink orders and that we wanted the soup. She was a little older so we gave her a little grace when she forgot things. You can't go wrong going to Mongolian bbq if you have different eaters with different pallets in your family. And it's a great way to please everyone without having to make different adjustments for everyone. It was a quick and easy dinner and I'm happy we decided on this local joint tonight. read more

For the love of all that is holy, go literally anywhere else to eat. I should have. I walked in on my one hour lunch break and there were no other customers in the restaurant which should have been my que to walk out right there but it was already too late anyways, the lady at the register already saw me and began to greet me. I wanted to try Vincenzo Trattoria but they were closed and I didn't feel like driving to another area so I just walked in here even though I haven't had much luck with Asian restaurants I've been to in idaho since I've moved here with the exception of a couple really good Vietnamese pho restaurants in Garden City and Nampa. I will say the woman working the register was very friendly so my one star is for her. She smiled and got me some water and rice at a table and I went over to the buffet style area to pick out my meats, veggies and noodles. I placed them in three separate bowls as that's how it worked a Mongolian grill restaurant I used to frequent in another state and the chefs there cooked them separately on the wok but then mixed them together and plated them but I guess that's unusual here. The chefs here cooked everything separately and boxed them in separate to go containers. The lady was on the phone and didn't tell them I was planning to eat at the restaurant but she got off the phone as they were boxing up the food and then they started arguing in their language. I said "it's okay, it's already boxed up so I'll just take it to go" and she rung me up and apologized a few times. It wasn't a huge deal to me but their arguing definitely was unprofessional and awkward for me as a paying customer. What really makes my review one star only is the food itself. I got to my car mixed it together and took a bite and even with the sauces I added, the food is so bland with watered down noodles, not the freshest of veggies and hard to chew meat. I stomached a few more bites but it ended up being a waste of money. It's now a little over an hour later and my stomach hurts even though I really didn't eat much of it. I won't be back. read more

I filled a medium bowl and the chef put my meal in a large bowl. They then charged me for the large bowl. I know what you're thinking...I must have filled the medium bowl too high. Wrong...It only filled 3/4 of the big bowl. The ol' switcharoo. Very dishonest when I confronted the waiter about this. Save yourself some money and go to a more reputable restaurant. read more

What an awesome little place. Spotlessly clean. Food is very fresh. Everyone who works there is so nice. Very inexpensive. Two people can eat for about $25 and have plenty of leftovers. I can make 3 meals out of a medium bowl. Highly recommend. read more

Just like previous reviewers, I experienced cold staff, bland food, and an outdated restaurant. It's a nice idea (Mongolian BBQ), but I was not impressed by the execution. I probably didn't follow the right sauce recipes because my food had zero taste, but the meat is what scared me the most...you can tell it's been previously frozen (which is totally OK), but it cooked into a weird color that didn't look natural. The time is 9pm. The day has been long. The mom, brother, and boyfriend are all starving... Humanity as we know it is fading. Then from the darkness we see a sign-- Mongolian BBQ, where we can quench our thirst for sriracha covered noodles mixed with meat and fresh veggies. The service was excellent, and even though we came in 45 minutes before close they kindly offered is a table, fired up the grill and asked us how our day was. The staff were welcoming, offered refills many times and even brought us to-go boxes without being prompted. Build your own. We found our favorite combination of items and get the large bowl. A bit pricey but it goes along way. We usually order delivery and usually comes just the way we want it. Once experience we had was one bowl didn't get sent. We called and the owner said he'll take care of us our next visit. Two weeks later he remembered us and did just that. First of all, look at these 2 and 1 star reviews...what kind of dick hates on mongolian bbq? I hit them up at 3pm for late lunch with the wife and it was fine. Good selection, lots of fresh ingredients. I don't need a show, just quality food and clean surroundings where the wife and I can have a conversation and watch some game show tv on the wall. I've been eating at the various Mongolian bbq's in the area for years so I am.no stranger to how the process works and what I like my flavor combinations to be. I went to the location on state street because it was close to my house. I am a fan of heat so I usually add a couple scoops of red pepper sauce and plenty of other items that give my noodles taste...and color. I put my sauce in a separate bowl so the amount of sauces that I use is quite plentiful. I got my to go order and went home....when I noticed that they didn't give me rice. I was further disheartened when I noticed that some of my noodles were still white and really dry and there was zero sauce at the bottom of the container. I don't know if they over watered my dish during the cooking process but these were the blandest noodles ever....and I didn't alter my sauce selection at all. I have never had this issue with any other location, just this one. A waste of $12 and a waste of food. read more

We under filled out bowls quite a bit, after we got ours and was eating we saw others with their bowls much more filled and wish we had done that as we could have used a little more. The restaurant isn't anything fancy to look at. The staff are unfriendly, cold and to the point. The food was bland, noodles were hard and overall couldn't taste the sauces because the food gets so watered down. The food itself had a bad taste to it, and looked like it had been out for a while. Myself, my two boys and my husband barely touched our plates because it was so bad (and boy can my husband eat!). Still ended up with a fat bill of almost $50. I've eaten at this restaurant often. It's one of the best Mongolian BBQ places in town. The meat is always fresh, frozen, so you know it hasn't been sitting out all day. The vegetables are fresh, never wilted! I've never had to worry that any of the items are old. I love the fact that there's consistency with all 3 locations, and the sauces are unbelievably good. It's the sauces that make the difference, as I've tried other Mongolian BBQ places and no others matched the great flavors. I learned that when you tip cooks and servers before your meal at any restaurant, they're very appreciative, so I would suggest this. read more

Went in there today with my wife, and 2 kids (ages 1+2). They are not quite to the Mongolian BBQ phase but that shouldn't stop the adults.The lady that works there kept scowling at me that I gave my kids some baby snacks instead of ordering them an entree. The host was a young man who was neither friendly or helpful. Kept standing right over me to see if I was going to give my son some noodles. (Their policy is that if you share with someone else, you have to pay twice). Both the lady and the host kept staring at us making us feel uncomfortable. It got weird. We packed up and left. The chef will water down you sauces to the point where you can't taste anything. Food was below average, staff were ridiculous. The policy is pretty lame seeing as if you pay for something, you should be able to share with who you want. read more

Was instantly disappointed a minute after entering. I told the host that I would like to take it to go but he just ignored me and walked me to a table. Every time we had a question about something they directed us to the cook. I don't know if it's because they couldn't speak English very well or what but it was annoying.
