My father and I dined here on Christmas Day, The service was fast, and very friendly. The food came out in a reasonable time for as busy as they were. This restaurant is in an old Taco John's building, so there is very limited seating. Portions are decent sized price is pretty on par with other Chinese restaurants. This is a family run restaurant and I am guessing family recipes. My ginger beef was absolutely delicious. My father had Hunan beef and he said it was very tasty. The only downside to the meal was the meat wasn't as tender and succulent as I've had before. This is definitely going to be a place on our list for dining. They are open late and they have a drive-thru.

Great little place for Chinese in Boise. Had seen some good reviews so I stopped by on a Saturday night for some takeout. Ordered Spring Rolls 2pc and Spider Roll (J61). Forgot to take pics but was pleased with both choices. I was hoping Spring Rolls were fresh paper wrapped but they were the crunchy ones, still good however! Spider roll also very tasty. Family run place and quick to get food out. Not busy at 8pm on Saturday inside but drive through had a couple cars. Overall I would come back

I have to be honest, when we pulled up, and this place was inside an old Taco Bell, I had my reservations. That's where my reservations ended. We were greeted by a young man, and I am guessing the son of the amazing hostess/waitress/amazing woman. She came to the table and gave descriptions to us on all the items we had questions about. She went above and beyond, and I would return back, just to visit with her and order more amazing food!! We ordered several different items, we got their Orange Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, Pork Fried Rice, Roast Pork Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon, and the Triple Delight. The Orange Chicken is so good, has the right amount of spice, orange rind pieces, not greasy, came with a few pieces of broccoli, and amazing! The Chicken Lo Mein, I don't know where to start. I love Lo Mein. This is the best I have ever had. The flavor the chicken has is incredible, I would 5-star this item all on its own. Also, in my experience, many places that serve this, it's greasy, not this, it's perfect! The Roast Pork Egg Rolls and Crab Rangoon were delicious. The Crab Rangoon is fried perfectly, it's full of flavor and better than most. The Egg Roll has a really unique flavor. They are not huge, just the perfect size, and hit the spot. The Pork Fried Rice is full of pork, peas, carrots, and just what you would want in a friend rice. It's not your typical fried rice that you get from other places, it is like a flavor explosion. The Triple Delight has decent size shrimp, pork, and chicken, along with all the veggies, onions, broccoli, baby corn on the cob, mushrooms, snow peas, carrots, and water chestnuts. The flavors come together and make you keep going back for more. The overall experience was a 10/10. We will definitely be back here again. Sometimes, the places that look questionable have the best food.

I have been coming here for 10 years. After having been to Chinatown in several cities, including San Francisco this place is a breath of fresh air in the Idaho Chinese arena. Always good food and service

a hidden gem!! I live very closeby, so Panda Garden is a one of my go-tos for dinner. the portions are incredible and very well priced!! the staff is always so welcoming and friendly, and the restaurant itself is nice too! very comfy place to sit and eat, look out the window, or admire the resident slider turtles!

Had to stop for lunch and found this place. The place was a small area along a main road serving Japanese and Chinese dishes. Ordered sashimi, bento boxes, shrimp fried rice and spicy chicken dish. What a amusing combo. Japanese dishes cooked by Chinese. Did not taste good. The fried rice was oily and the sashimi variety was a bit hard and not that fresh. This place is good just to fill your stomach and not much more.

Okay okay, this was hands down the nicest I've ever been treated at a restaurant, they're a family business, and DANG that is some good sushi for $5. Nowhere else are you gonna find that kind of food at that price. Very good (I'm actually kinda a sushi snob but it passed the test) and they brought it out literally not a second after I finished my Miso soup. The restaurant building itself is a little rough around the edges, but the service is great, the family is hospitable, and they do takeout ALL THE TIME so if you're not about the atmosphere, just order to go. Very very satisfied, adding that to my list of hidden gems.

Amazing chicken, crispy sesame beef, pork and seeds, lomein, veggie foo yung.

We ordered a feast on Thanksgiving from here and everything was great, from start to finish! It was easy to order online and the lady who delivered the food was VERY nice. We ordered a chicken lomein, the Amazing chicken (which IS amazing! Soooo good!!), a crispy sesame beef, an egg drop soup, pork and seeds, and vegetable foo yung. Everything was fresh and DELICIOUS! I would definitely order everything again. Great place!

I recently read in the Idaho Statesman that this local Chinese joint was going to close at the end…read moreof the month. So sad, their situation. The rental company didn't give them an option to renew their lease. After 17 years, they are closing their doors without a choice. With closure comes choas. I remember when my family gave notice of our closure. We were chaotic from the time we announced it till the doors closed. Everyone is getting in their last hooray in. I anticipated that kind of madness when we stopped in for lunch today. And I was right, the place was a madhouse. When I have eaten here in the past, there was hardly anyone. It was just another table along with mine. It's always chill. Today on the other hand was pure madness. Tables were full of customers and dirty plates. I went ahead and sat myself and waited for my server. It took a minute for my server to get to me. She was the only one working so I just hung out till she got to me. Tea and menus were finally dropped off and I kicked it till my daughter showed up to have lunch with me. My daughter and I looked over the menu. Knowing it's our last meal at this joint, we decided to go ham. We both ordered soup, a lunch and I also snagged a tofu chow fun for later. My soup order was hot and sour. For lunch I went with your typical order of mandarin chicken, chow mein and pork fried rice. My daughter got won ton soup and beef with broccoli, fried rice and an egg roll. We waited for a hot minute for our food to be prepared. You can tell they were not staffed properly. Only one server with a whole dining room full of guests. I'm sure there were only a couple people working the kitchen trying to push out all of the orders coming in. Our soup did finally make it out. We both ordered small bowls but the bowl size was gracious. They were both hot and steamy. My hot and sour soup was ok. It wasn't really spicy but it did have a nice sour element to it. There were pieces of tofu, bamboo and carrots. It was thick and hearty but overall it was ok. My daughter's won ton soup was average. The broth was nice but there was not a lot of filling in the won ton. It was mainly won ton wrapper. And I found it odd that they put lettuce in the won ton soup. Lunch was dropped off shortly after we started working on our soup. When I placed my order, I had asked for fried rice with my meal. Server said it would be an extra charge and I figured it would be. My plate didn't have the fried rice. It only came with my chicken and chow mien. After I addressed my server about it, she looked completely lost. I got an "ok" and never saw her again. So, I just worked on what I had. The chicken was good. It was fresh this time around. I love the saltiness of the chicken with the sweet and sour sauce. The chow mien will always be one of my favorite dishes. It reminds me of my childhood, growing up at my uncle's Chinese restaurant and eating it all the time. I love when the crunchy noodles get all soft from the sauce. The bean sprouts are my favorite. The chow fun was really good. It was savory, the noodles were chewy and the tofu was perfectly fried. They will always have some of the best chow fun in town. I'm giving today's visit a 5 star but in reality it's truly a 3. I didn't get my rice, our server didn't really tend to our table and I had to get my bill adjusted for extra charges. I know the end of the road is coming soon for them but hopefully they will be able to prepare themselves for the next couple days because the choas will only get worse and clearly they need the extra hands. I wish these folks the best of luck with their future endeavors, whatever they may be. I'm happy I got one last meal in before doors are finally closed at the end of this month. Truly sad that another local joint will be just a fond memory for us now.

Most places have remodeled and taken out the charm and ambiance of restaurants making them stale. Lucky Palace still has that charm and evokes that feeling of being a kid, with your family, on a Friday night family date. I will say the food seems to be on the saltier side here, pretty consistently. And I am on the search for the best sweet and sour chicken in the valley, the chicken was overcooked on the sweet and sour and the sauce on the extreme sweet side. The one time I ordered generals chicken, it was a bit unmanageable to eat because of the salt. I never waste leftovers, I did not eat these leftovers because of the salt content. With that said, I think you can find some good things on the menu. We did enjoy the egg rolls (on the super greasy side), and my parents manage to find great options such as the Lo Mein. Give this a few tries and I do believe you can find a dish you will keep coming back for. Hidden in a strip mall type setup, you would never know it is there unless you are looking for it. I kind of like that. It feels hidden. Like a secret restaurant.

The bags arrived promptly, steaming like they had just been hustled out of the wok and into our lives with purpose. Credit where it's due: delivery was fast, everything was hot, and the sheer volume of food bordered on heroic. This is the kind of place that feeds not just your table, but possibly your entire week. Visually? No notes. Golden egg roll, glossy sauces, that comforting, familiar American-Chinese glow that promises indulgence and maybe a nap afterward. And yes, it delivered on the nap. This is heavy food--the kind that makes you loosen a belt and reconsider your evening plans. But then... the flavor. The hot and sour soup leaned a little too enthusiastically into the "sweet" side of its personality, like it had somewhere else to be and rushed the "sour" part. The egg roll came in bold--very bold--with a five-spice presence that kicked the door in, rearranged the furniture, and didn't really ask if you wanted that kind of energy. Across the board, things landed in that curious middle ground: low mein, fried rice not bad, not offensive, just... there. Like a cover band that knows all the notes but hasn't quite found the groove. To be fair, this is American Chinese comfort food in Boise, not a culinary pilgrimage. And in that lane, New Garden absolutely delivers on value, portion size, and speed. You will not go hungry. You may, however, find yourself wishing the flavors hit with the same confidence as the portions. So: shoutout to the delivery game. Shoutout to the sheer abundance. But flavor-wise? It's a polite shrug with potential. Would I order again? Maybe--on a day when quantity feels more important than nuance, and I'm ready to commit to leftovers as a lifestyle.
