I would recommend that if your hours are 7:15 don't advertise that you close at 8:00 pm. Tables were very sticky and didn't look clean. The couple that got seated after us got their food before we our drinks. All the food looked and tasted terrible. Some rolls looked like they sat out for a day, just dried up and not fresh. My wife ordered the dynamite roll and the topping looked like chopped up version of that it was supposed to be and tasted like it went bad last week. She only had the one piece of this because it was a raw roll.We aren't ones to complain and the only reason I am writing this is because we brought this up to the staff and and chief. they took off 5 dollars on the bill which it was a 15 dollar roll. I have been making an effort to support the local businesses. I found this place which appeared to be a gem. I was treated well and had good food if a bit pricey and tipped very generously, again in the hope of supporting the good restaurants that are making an effort. Tonight I got hungry and called on the way over about an hour before closing. I specifically advised them I would be about four minutes and requested a reservation. They happily wrote my name down and said they would have a table ready. When I arrived the man who presents as the head waiter, whom previously had been a highly professional excellent server, advised me the owner had just closed the facility for the night. I advised him I was a little upset having literally just called and confirmed a reservation and asked him to tell the owner I was a little upset. He laughed and waved at the nearly empty restaurant and said 'we have plenty of business' and I don't really care about you or your complaint. I repeated my request to tell the owners and he said 'yah, I'm sure I'll do that; you can leave now' and walked away. Maybe, just maybe, there is a reason you have one table with three people at it on a Saturday night and have to close early. I won't be back. It's a shame. read more

Recently went to Sushi Garden for lunch with a friend on a Wednesday. The outside of the restaurant needs some work and it is a bit dark inside. A very extensive sushi menu with pictures, which a BIG help. The food was good but the service was excellent. And talk about value for your money, you can get a chicken or beef bowl with soup & salad for $10! I got the chicken teriyaki lunch combo for $15 and it came with chicken, rice, 3 pieces of tempura, 4 california roll sushi and 2 pieces nigiri sushi plus soup & salad. Got told 20 min until takeout food was ready. I arrived 25 min after ordering. I got told it would be out in only a minute, however I proceeded to wait an hour before it was finished and another customer who had ordered takeout came and went within 10 min. I have worked in two sushi/Japanese restaurants myself, and the food I ordered should have only taken at most 30 min especially considering the lack of customers dining inside the actual restaurant. If there was an issue in the kitchen, it should have been addressed to me, so I could have made a decision to wait for the mediocre food, however I had been told it would be only a minute, 6 times. I believe that even the manager had come out to the front desk to check on things but even then, it felt like I was more of a hassle than a paying customer. To top it off, the chicken I received, wasn't even fully cooked and still partially raw. I will not be going back to sushi garden again and I will informing others to avoid it as well. read more

They never get your Togo order correct and they act like you are bugging them when you come to pick it up. And the supposed owner doesn't care at all if your happy. This is one of the two best sushi restaurants in all of Pueblo. They have a lot of variety they respond to special needs such as tofu wrap for people who are allergic to iodine. My husband called to see if this place takes reservations. They said no. That is fine. We went there and they told us it would be about a 40 minute wait. We were okay with that. Heard good things about food. The front of the house very chaotic. Walked in and they were asking customers how many. When it was my turn I told them 2. Was told to wait in the waiting area they have. I asked if we need to put a name down. They said no. Everytime they came to get someone for their table they would ask the guests if they remembered who was next. Also while waiting, they called a party that was waiting in the area for their reservation, even though we were told no reservations. They specifically said "party with the reservations" Not a very good system. Finally we were the only ones in waiting area. Then 2 more parties showed up. One had 3 and they sat in waiting area, the next had 2 people in their party. They had told them we only have 2 people Host said they could get them seated in a minute and they would be next. My husband and myself heard this and weren't happy about that but thought we will wait and see. The other host came back and said to the other host "I told these people that they were next" That is when my husband voiced his concern and said hey we were next. The rude host said she knew and told us "thanks, we knew that" in a very rude tone. Told us to follow her and sat us at table. She then in rude voice told us that our waitress would be there shortly. We walked out because we knew that we weren't going to get good service. They were busy and we understand that. We also understand mistakes were made. The girls up front very rude. Came back to visit my family after a long time and wanted sushi. Before I moved away like six years ago we use to go to sushi garden all the time. I missed it. Sadly the interior hasn't changed but the food has definitely decreased in quality. It wasn't the freshest I've seen before and the taste wasn't good. I also had to change my menu item three times because they were out of popular items that I use to get. I wasn't happy to not get what I wanted. Not my first second or third choices. I settled for a random roll which was then brought to me with alterations because the chef didn't get it right. Instead of sending it back I just ate it. The hostess who was also the waitress took our orders and when she asked if there was anything else I said drinks would nice because it's some she not not ask for in the ten minutes it took her to return to our table and take our order. A few minutes later she was helping another table and I got her attention. I politely said I noticed her thumb in our food and immediately she went on the offensive and said she is not required to wear gloves and that is how she always serves people. I asked if she could maybe hold the dishes from the side she said she would not and said she would not replace our food. When I asked if I may speak she immediately said she was. I said okay then may I speak to her manager or the owners she said she was also them. I then immediately got my family up and left. She was so rude and disrespectful. Let me start with the positives: our server, Tami, was super sweet, friendly, and attentive despite being the only server on a busy Saturday afternoon. The prices are decent and the sushi overall is good. Now the negatives: my shrimp had poop in it! When I told Tami about it, she tried to make it right immediately. Unfortunately, the sushi chef (whom I am assuming is the owner) rudely told me they don't clean the shrimp and if I don't like it, don't order sushi with shrimp. I'm sorry, but in America, we don't eat shit. I have been here before and did not have uncleaned shrimp...My advice, don't order shrimp here. We went for my daughter's birthday and they said they didn't have a seat for all of us. I get that a group of 9 is sometimes hard to seat (we have a big family, so we'reused to it) so we said we'd split tables if we needed to if that would work better to fit us. Many of the menu items weren't on the ordering sheet, but we made due. But then then our waitress had us hand out our own soups, then salads, and even drinks. She didn't let us know that our appetizer wasn't available until after she had already brought part of our order and we asked about it. We waited for refills on water and tea that never came. After our first sushi rolls came, one wasn't what we wanted, when I asked about it, the waitress got snarky so I let it go. We never saw the rest of our order. When we finally asked another waiter, he brought out our bento boxes...COLD. We had also asked about our sashimi tray, and it turns out our waitress hadn't put the order in and it was going to be another 15 -20 min wait. The waiter who's attention I grabbed was awesome about it- he apologized profusely and assured us it would be taken care of. He went to get our waitress and when she came to the table she was again snarky and full of excuses, blaming the sushi chef and the kitchen staff, and that when the restaurant is busy that's what we're going to get. We told her to just forget it and to bring us the check. I was frustrated that this was a birthday dinner and told her so, instead of being understanding or apologizing, she just kept getting louder and more aggressive. When we looked at the check, she had left everything on there, and when I told her we weren't paying for food we couldn't eat, she yelled at me and blamed me for not being patient enough to let her take anything off. Again the other waiter was super helpful, super kind and trying to tell her to calm down and to stop yelling, she just ignored him. They took the food we didn't get to eat off, but not the wine or mixed drinks we didn't get to drink, didn't offer to let us take anything we had started eating or even give a discount on that, and still yelled at me the while time we were paying the bill. At the very end we asked who the manager was so we could talk to them later about our visit and she tells us SHE IS!!! What kind of management acts like that? She literally screamed at me through the entire restaurant in front of other customers. What a mistake to take my daughter there for her birthday - she had to leave before she got to finish her dinner much less the mochi she wanted or any of the other things that make a birthday dinner special. And now we're out $162 and still had to stop & buy the kids fast food for dinner. read more

I came here with a friend who loves sushi and he said this place had the best sushi in the area. I did not have sushi but I had a chicken bowl with vegetables and rice which came with soup and a small salad. Everything tasted freshly made and was presented in a very attractive way. The chicken meat was juicy and flavorful the vegetables were perfectly done, not raw but not mushy. The rice was very good, too. The soup was very tasty!
