I have had the pleasure of being at this resturant twice now, once for lunch and tonight for dinner. It's a lovely spot, well decorated, great service and unique food. My favorite dishes so far: Palak Crunch Chaat (top choice), Samosa Bliss, Masalatini (a different twist on eggplant rollatoni), Spiced lamb chops, The Saag Saga (classic choice), Butter Chicken, all paired with a garlic naan. One of the most unique restaurants I've visited. The presentation of the food and drinks was as pretty as the colorful interior. For drinks I ordered the lychee martini and chai-tini buzz. The lychee martini was a little too sweet and the chai martini was too milky for my liking. There are a lot of interesting cocktails on the menu so I'd like to try something different next time. For food I ordered the Samosa Bliss and the iron pan (kadhai) hit with paneer and a side of garlic naan. The samosas were delicious: crispy on the outside and well-seasoned on the inside with a tangy sauce. The paneer was excellent in terms of portion size and texture. I would have preferred basmati rice with the entree instead of the yellow rice and more garlic on the naan, but overall it was a satisfying meal. There isn't a dessert menu but they have a case with a variety of Indian sweets. Service was very attentive and felt like you were eating at a family's home. Lots of nearby street parking. As with many older New England buildings, the entrance is a little tight and has a few steps so it may be difficult for some people to enter. I look forward to visiting again! read more

We tried Monica's Mithai for brunch on the weekend and had a nice time. Tried a bunch of different dishes: Gujarati puri Vada pav Butter chicken paratha Egg bhurji Saffron chai Irani chai Mango mimosa The Gujarati puri and egg bhurji were the biggest hits followed by both versions of the chai and the vada pav too. Wish they had a more authentic version of the bread for the pav but can't fault that, it's not easy to make ladi pav. We had high hopes for the butter chicken paratha but it felt like the flavor was lacking, it could've easily used more stuffing. The mango syrup in the mimosa didn't mix very well and felt a little artificial so they may want to refine that recipe. But overall, a great visit and what a treat to have Indian brunch. Service was great, friendly and attentive. Ambiance is very bright and inviting. There are a few parking spots right outside the cafe or you can also park on the side streets. read more

Really enjoyed my recent visit. Monica (the owner) was very friendly and welcoming. She took our orders and answered all of our questions about the menu thoughtfully. She made all of our drinks herself. Most of my group does not drink but she was able to make several cocktails into mocktails upon request. The space is cozy and beautifully decorated. This place is so cute, I love the aesthetic of the cafe. It's an intimate cafe, with a good amount of seating. I tried a couple of their desserts, but my favorite is the sugar free milk bar. I really appreciate the owner explaining everything in the display cabinet so I could choose which dessert I wanted to try. My wife and I ate at Monicas last night and were very disappointed in the meal. The veal was dry and tough to eat placed on a pile of dry yello rice with a slice of raw onion and a few small tomatoes on the side. A few small pieces of pita bread. My wife had the vegetarian that had pieces of fried cheese on the rice instead of veal. Both had little flavor; might have benefited from sauces of some sort. The atmosphere was confusing as very little that seemed Indian including the decor, music, staff, and food. The waiter was fine; however, commented that he was frustrated as was training new cooks that night which may have explained part of the problem. In any case, there are plenty of excellent Indian restaurants that are much better to go to. read more

I am so grateful that we have an option that is not steak or pizza. I went to this spot with a friend and it was great! Very friendly servers and they explained all the dishes. I got the tandoori chicken sizzle and came back the next night and got the shawarma platter. Food was great and they gave me free refills with extra cherries for my shirley temple. The menu has a lot of options with fusions of different cuisines. They have a bar where you can see them make your drinks. The presentation on the dishes was nice as they bring it up and take this smoky glass dome off. I don't have a video so you have to go there and see. The place is modern, well decorated with comfortable chairs and a cozy ambiance. The desserts are pretty good as well. Overall I definitely recommend this place and if you are going on the weekends definitely get a reservation because it got pretty full Friday night! read more
