We met a couple of friends for our monthly moving feast. The Mrs. and I shared the Lebanese sampler, hummous, and raw kibbee. It was delicious as always. My aunt, the Lebanese cook of the family, would have been proud. The waitress was very pleasant and chatty, and was always there when we needed her - and kept both the bread and refreshments coming. My wife and I went to Shadi's for dinner last night, 5/9/26, at 6:30pm in order to get to a show on time at 8pm. We waited until almost a few minutes before 8pm to get our food. 1 1/2 hrs wait time by the bar area. The service was bad, very bad. I assume we should have arrived at 3pm to get our food on time by 7-7:30pm. Since we had tix to an 8pm concert, after waiting 1 1/2 hrs, we took our food to go. Never had an experience were I go to restaurant to eat food, had to wait 1 1/2 hrs for the food just to have it wrapped up to go. PS-I was sitting by the bar area where the bartenders were concentrating more on serving drinks. I also told the female bartender at 7:15 pm that we needed to attend a concert at 8pm. Went to lunch with my husband and very good friend. She recommended this place to go today. First time for us but my friend been many times. The food was amazing loved everything. Got the cold appetizer which was two different hummus's feta cheese tabouli and stuffed Grapeleaves With pita bread and we all ordered a lunch plate. Everything was so delicious! Nice restaurant with plenty of table and bar seating. Our waitress was nice, but not very attentive. She only came back once after we placed our order and never offered water or drink refills. The food was okay. Hommus appetizer was delicious. The chicken kabobs were moist and tender, but could've used a sauce for flavor. We ordered the grape leaf dinner cold (the waitress reminded us that it was served cold as well), but it was served pipping hot which was frustrating. They get a rare 5 star! Family run with homemade food and decent portions (with decent prices to boot!). They care and it shows. The place is clean and service is better than most of those overhyped restaurants. Bread is fresh & they give you real butter. Baba ganoush and hummus is made fresh & presented well. Grape leaves almost snap when cut into (freshly made) and stuffed cabbage is perfectly seasoned. I don't eat raw kibbeah (unsure of spelling) but my dining mates love it. As for me the baked kibbeah is seasoned perfectly. Our server was awesome, sense of humor and attentive. Oh, don't forget their French fries, surprisingly tasty. We ended everything with baklava and you can taste that it's made with butter and honey..not like that cheap junk sold at other places (we won't name them here - you know who you are!). Dinner at Shadi's last night March 1st 2025 was great. Shrimp cocktail was excellent. Large shrimp iced but cocktail sauce very dry. Lentil soup 5*. Salad with creamy Italian dressing 5* Hummous 5* Rice Pilaf 5* Now, the beef kabobs were not so good. They had NOT been marinated and even though cooked perfect, they were very dry. So dry, I had trouble swallowing them and could not eat them. My husbands lamb kabobs were also prepared the same way. He had the same problem. Even though all the rest was almost perfect , I cant say I would return as the main course was seriously a problem. read more

Our pre- order of a tray of chicken kebabs and a tray of rice was warm, ready and waiting for us, when we arrived at the designated time on the 24th. It's always a relief when you order ahead of time and then it is ready as it should be, which is not always the case at some places. But since we are regular satisfied customers we were not surprised, to find that was the case. Your excellent food was a great addition and everybody loved it. Fresh, moist, tender and delicious. We have been dining at Shadi's for many years. The food has always been good and the service as well. Unfortunately lately things seem to have changed. We stopped in for a late lunch recently around 2:00. It was NOT busy, maybe 3 tables and a half dozen bar seats taken. The unenthusiastic quiet bartender was slow in taking our order. He has worked there forever and I'm not sure why; he has zero personality and almost seems afraid to talk to you. Anyway we ordered baba ghannoush and sandwiches and it took an exceptionally long amount of time for our order to come out. Like I said, very few people were there. The baba had little flavor besides garlic. I am convinced that they use the leftover stale bread for the sandwiches because the Syrian bread was crusty and inflexible. I picked up my lamb sandwich and it immediately broke apart. I had to eat it with a fork. Same for another person in my party with a different sandwich. Never once did the bartender come back to ask how things were. The fries used to be amazing, now they are just average, and are served unsalted. The owner stands around and can clearly see these issues but does nothing. There are a lot of newer high quality Mediterranean restaurants around now so I will not return to shadi's. If I were guessing I would say they'll be closed within a year. read more

What a wonderful experience we had at Shadi's this weekend! We threw a surprise 70th birthday party for my mother. Shadi and their team were warm, welcoming, and incredibly supportive at every step of the way. They provided us with our own private room, servers, and even helped us create a special menu with family style apps and sides for the entire crew. This was several of our first times at Shadi's (among many frequent fliers in the mix), and the food was absolutely FANTASTIC! The hummus and tabbouleh, kebab, baked haddock, and mediterranean platter were all incredible - and the portions were huge. The caring service from Maureen and Katie was also so kind, thorough, anticipatory, and flexible. Every request and question we had they had an easy and kind solution for. They both truly went above and beyond, made the experience so smooth, and left everyone feeling like we were among family. We could not be happier with the experience and would (will!) absolutely be asking Shadi's to have us back for events in the future. When we are in the mood for Middle Eastern food, it is usually Shadi's that we go to. We think that the food is excellent and plentiful. In addition to Middle Eastern food, Shadi's also serves chicken and fish, all of which is of excellent quality. We have always had good service when we have been there. I've been to Shadi's on several occasions. Our first was at their former location in Methuen. The hubby and I both had their haddock at that time and didn't get what all the hype was about. That was before I tried their Lebanese specialities. On subsequent visits in their current location , I've been impressed. My "go to" is their Arabic platter (kibbee, stuffed grape and cabbage leaves) and two sides (at lunch) of salad, rice, veggies or hand cut fries. Their fries are fantastic. Hot, crispy and not salty. Grape and cabbage leaves are very tender. I've also had their kafta which was perfectly seasoned and tender. The hubby had the shish kabobs (beef) and said they were good and only critique was the temperature of the kabobs...they were lukewarm and not hot. I recently had lunch here with a small group of friends. . There were 5of us. Anyway, I made the reservation easily I think online We entered and we're greeted by their friendly host. She took us over to our table all set up & ready. We were given menus right away. Our server came within a very short while and again - friendly & knowledgeable. I had absolutely no plans to order a glass of wine, but his suggestions sounded great. And so 3 of us made the decision to have some. It wasn't long after that he brought over a metal basket loaded with freshly sliced pita bread and butter . This restaurant keeps it wrapped in a plastic bag covered with a cloth napkin... I've never seen this happen anywhere else, but it works to keep it from drying out. The bread was delicious I ordered the luncheon size chicken kabob. Friends decided 3 different things. Mine came with 2 sides for which I chose - rice pilaf and a tossed salad. The house dressing is lemon mint. Out of all the salad dressing I've had I believe this is my favorite. I never tire of it. My kabobs were done to perfection . The rice was basic. Nothing special. But good. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The server was engaging and really helped make our lunch enjoyable. I can't say it was a 5 star experience... But close. I know one thing & that is we will definitely return soon. read more

Went for lunch and it took 12 minutes for our server to come over when the place was pretty much empty. Orders apps and they came with our meals. However, they forgot one of the meals. Server said it would be right out. He came out 15 minutes later with it and the chicken kabob was raw in the middle and looked nothing like mine. he offered to make something else but we had already waited so long And they had a catering order. I brought a friend who was anxious to try it. I had been before and didn't like it but wanted to give them another chance. we were seated immediately but no waitress for 10 minutes. We both ordered shish kebob, medium. Our disappointment was evident as soon as she put the plates on the table. One skewer of steak tips, and the steak tips were very small. Then we cut into them and realized they were well done, barely chewable. The waitress did not come over to ask us how everything was so I had to flag her down. I told her we were both disappointed and she asked us if we wanted to order more of them and I said we don't have the time. she was useless and didn't bother to make us happy in any other fashion. nothing was taken off the bill. Ridiculously overpriced for lunch too. my suggestion to EVERYONE is to go to Yalla Grill in methuen for the best food and delicious shish kebab! Stopped in for lunch. Ordered lamb sandwich (rollup) and grape leaves (half meat, half vegetarian) and a side of toum (garlic paste). Lamb sandwich wrapped in nice soft and chewy bread, crisp lettuce, onion and tomato. The lamb pieces were cooked as ordered but a few were tough enough to stop eating. I also didn't notice any dressing, but the toum fixed that. I mistakenly ordered the rice. Decent but disappointing (I didn't finish it). The stuffed grape leaves were very good, though could use more salt (easily fixed). They didn't last long on my table! I would definitely return to try other things, like the kibbe, zatar, fattoush and Arabic platter(!), but my first experience was anticlimactic. read more
