Somehow 501 was able to get the necessary parts and repair or rebuild all of them. In addition to simply getting the job done, Peter is an expert in handling his clients. He kept me informed a few times a week as to the status of the parts he had to order and updated his timetable. Final bill was as estimated. Per his website he does a wide variety of home repairs. My new place has needs which I will be calling on him and his team to do for me.

We came here for our kitchen counter tops and were immediately impressed with the professionalism that comes from Natalia. They have a very good selection in store, and the prices are very reasonable. Not the lowest, but much cheaper than most places we looked at. Natalia directed us to many warehouses to pick our counter top. Once we picked the granite she handled everything and had the piece moved to the factory in Everett (the main branch). There, we met John, who was the person who does all the installation. He was extremely nice, friendly, helpful, and professional. He even picked a fantastic remnant for our window top that has since become our favorite piece! There was a minor hiccup along the way - they cut out the wrong shape for our sink.. but luckily for us, they had another piece. If that was the last piece.. I might have had a different review. So I would advise everyone to follow up and confirm details every step of the way (for all granite places, not just here). Even with that though, they still did a fantastic job. Everything looks amazing and you can barely see the seam in the kitchen. I highly recommend.

The woman who works in the store is sweet and courteous, but she is dependent on the guy in charge, John, for information and he doesn't seem to check the schedule or answer his phone. If your counter tops are ready, or if they have a question, or a problem, do not expect them to call you. You will have to call them. I was told by Milly, an efficient young woman who first won my business, that my estimate would be ready the next day. Three weeks later, I still didn't have an estimate and Milly didn't seem to work there any longer. After I left several messages I found out that they had to come back and check measurements. This happens ... but were they ever planning to call me??? On several occasions, I wasted whole days waiting for these folks to show up. Once they didn't show at all. For installation, they told me they'd come between 10-12. At 11:30 I received a call that they'd be about an hour late, but they didn't show up until 3:30. Then there were several glitches. John also suggested I replace my window sill with granite. Well ... no one accounted for the fact that removing the existing sill would leave holes on the sides and beneath my window. The guys came back and added a short back splash, but they left holes under the window and on one side. I had to have someone plaster over these places. Perhaps this was my misjudgement in part, but no one explained it to me. Also, I got a new sink. I asked three times if I needed a plumber and was told I didn't. Well, guess what? I did and still do. Two weeks later I'm still trying to get an appointment. I would have scheduled a plumber in advance if I had known. So, when the granite guys disconnected my sink, they neglected to close a valve which resulted in a leak in the basement below my condo which I was very lucky didn't result in the condo association charging me. Finally, there is a a language barrier. The guys who came to my house were nice and polite, but were not fluent in English. Some didn't seem to speak it at all. I don't have a problem with this ... as long as someone communicates clearly, which was not the case. In the end, the granite does look great but the it was a very stressful and drawn out experience.

Unfortunately I am not the only one who has endured a bad experience with her. MH I warn anyone who will listen away from this unethical business and owner Robin Boyce. I had the misfortune to be her client and endure her careless, unprofessional, dishonest and ultimately abusive and vulgar treatment. My "custom kitchen" arrived without the custom elements and with a grossly oversized refrigerator. The kitchen designer blames someone else for a major kitchen error and refuses to fix it! (See photos) I had the exact same experience with the shutters and the custom stair-runner I ordered from her. They were both delivered with errors and missing parts, and Design West has done NOTHING to correct its errors. This is the worst experience I've ever had with another human being, period. I never received an apology on any mistake I swear to God. That's when I realized too late I had hired the wrong person. Robin Boyce/Design Center West scammed me by promising professional results and delivering dirt. Robin Boyce then turned verbally abusive when confronted with her easily disproved lies. (I have all documentation to prove my charges.) This last point deserves special mention. When I expressed my dismay at the errors, delays and lack of accountability, her demeanor shifted immediately from friendly to combative and borderline violent. It was a shock to learn the owner wasn't just a sleaze but mentally unhinged too. When I confronted her in her store after she ignored my contractor's emails and texts, she began screaming profanities at me while hurling insults about my appearance and character, which I presumed was an intimidation tactic. That felt sickening, but it worsened when she came at me with her arm pulled back as if to throw a punch, but thankfully she stopped herself before landing her fist in my face. I feel certain the only thing that stopped her was a possible assault charge. I would feel sorry for Ms Boyce if she wasn't a thief, and if her emotional instability didn't manifest in such an ugly manner. But no mental state excuses her dishonesty, mentally healthy or not. Not a word of this review is hyperbole. I lost thousands of dollars and was blindsided by a venomous verbal assault because I had the temerity to call out Robin Boyce on her mendacity and fraud. I could provide a colorful litany of her actions, but suffice it to say that it involved a lot of obscene finger, hip and hand gestures. Incidentally, her staff just sat there like dummies the entire time and let it all happen. Apparently they don't have an issue working for such a repulsive woman. Prior to my dealings with her, Robin was verbally abusive to my contractor on multiple occasions as well when he asked her about delayed deliverables. Following is an example of one the few correspondences between him and Robin that isn't littered with her F-bombs: "Shut up. Stop talking. Don't tell me what to do. Its not Maureen... its you. I'm surprised guys take your mouth, and the way you talk down to others; I suspect you've been punched a few times." This is the first---and I hope last--bad review I ever had to write. Let this brutally honest review serve as a public service announcement to warn others away from this troublemaker. Do not hire Design Center West. You will pay a premium for sloppy, mediocre results, and the owner will curse you when you express your dissatisfaction. This has been a yearlong nightmare that only ended after I hired someone else to fix all of her mistakes. Caveat emptor!

Robin helped me from start to finish with my new house build. Even during the pandemic she has been on top of things and instructing me to get things ordered prior to shipment delays. She and her team have been responsible, proactive, and truly professional. They are communicating with my contractor and his team and his cabinet installer told me it was such a pleasure working with them he would like to do more jobs with them. Any mistakes (Fedex dropped a vanity and it cracked) were handled quickly and replaced at no cost to me. Her attention to detail is incredible. Additionally, she was very focused on saving me money and making sure I was not buying things I did not need. It has been a true pleasure working with Robin and her team again. I cannot say enough good things about them!

We leveraged Mark to help us with cabinet selection and layout. He walked us through all the options, showed us lots of examples of previous work, and gave us suggestions. He was responsive and flexible, worked with us and our timetable to get us everything we needed. Our GC double-checked all of Mark's measurements and layout, as well as doing all the installation for us. We did not experience any of the issues that others mention, perhaps for that reason. Our renovated kitchen is absolutely beautiful and we are happy with Mark's work.

The colors are simply magical, which works as our house in Carmel, CA is named Casa Magia. The craftsmanship is beyond any stained glass I've ever seen. Even the sturdy wooden box the windows were shipped in showed careful workmanship. Joe even sent trim pieces to secure the windows, all perfectly mitered, pre-drilled and painted. He ever sent the right screws! This was all for a price about 1/3 of what a local artist asked. These windows are the crowning touch to our new home. We could not be more delighted. (The photos don't do the colors justice. They are much richer than they appear.)
