Oh... where do I start. PLEASE... do not book here! My fiancé and I ignored the prior bad…read morereviews, because we wanted to give the owner (Rich) the benefit of a doubt. We wanted to judge for ourselves. Unfortunately, the negative reviews are 100% true. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. There's no issue there. The problem indeed lies with the owner. Everything started out warm & accommodating.... But quickly turned into very a controlling situation. Keep in mind, you are not required to place a deposit or sign a contract, which makes sense because I'm sure we weren't the first couple to pull out last minute. The owner is probably used to that. Here is some of the craziness that we dealt with... You have to book the bunkhouse for the entire weekend. It can be used for getting ready on your wedding day, but it is strictly monitored on who can enter the home to visit you. No visitors, unless it's bridal party & immediate family! You can use their pieces for your event, but can't change the shabby, weather beaten fabrics & fake florals. None of your own decor can be added. You are not allowed to enter the property to set up & decorate until 3pm the day before. So, that leaves you absolutely NO time if you're planning a rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, etc. In addition to that, it is strictly in forced that you can only have a very small group of people on site to help set up. Good luck getting everything done in time! If you have a DJ, the owner demands that the music & noise be kept at a very minimal level, as not to upset neighbors (even during daylight hours). You have to end your event strictly by 9pm. Everything and everyone must be completely off property by then. Guests... vendors... everyone, must get out! This includes making sure that you've also done some general cleaning/picking up of everything beforehand as well. When you're on site, the owner will hover over you the entire time! There's no privacy to talk amongst yourselves and you will be reminded multiple times about "the rules". Overall, the entire experience with JR Ranch was exhausting and disappointing. I could keep going with more crazy details. He really does have a beautiful venue, but he's absolutely clueless when it comes to the wedding business. Save yourself a lot of stress and go elsewhere!!!

This year was amazing, live relaxing music, cute petting zoo, kids activities, fun…read moreface-in-hocutouts(see pic), Chalk Artists and plenty of food vendors offering Eggplant dishes to go along with the festival at decent prices! They also had lots of vendors selling gift related items, to get you started on your holiday shopping, and offered complimentary samples as well! I tried some deliciously flavorful Mandarin Olive Oil, Balsamic and sweet Orange Blossom Honey from the Colwell Thundering Herd Ranch booth and purchased some cards made by a local artist from the Cloudy Art Studio booth! As well as entered into their raffle to win some beautiful hand towels and cards! For lunch I ordered some deliciously flavorful and perfectly sauced Eggplant Lasagna from Rubinos Ristorante Booth and will definitely be checking out their restaurant in Rocklin now! I would highly recommend attending the festival and don't forget to pick up your free Eggplant before you leave, I cannot wait to try mine and see what next year has in store!
