This company pissed me off and the fact that the representative thought it was a joke made me super angry. I ordered a total of 5 tv wall mounts to hang TVs in my place of business. Delivery shows up a few days later the box is huge. I grab the box place it in my car and go on about my day. I did say to myself this box is rather dang light to have 5 brackets in it; I make it to my business with the box open it and the contents contained 5 packages of bubbles and 2 pieces of butterscotch candy inside of the box that was the the size of a Tv. Now where the hell is the humor in that when preparing for a grand opening. Then the fact that they really act as if it was a game. I had to send pictures of the items wait for return calls and emails and my refund. Not to mention I had to go to 6 different places to find 5 brackets in a matter of 3 days which was a nightmare. Not to mention there place of business is local. A couple months ago purchased my first ever sub for my home theater system, and after much research, settled on the 10" Monolith by Monoprice for $500. I have experienced subwoofer hum from day 1. Monoprice chat had me try various things to fix it, and I also posted on Reddit about it, but unfortunately none of the fixes worked. I processed a return order online but didn't receive anything in my email. After a couple days, I completed the Contact form on the Monoprice website. Still no response. I tried calling Monoprice and it said "due to Covid, we are not offering phone support." About a week later, I went back on Monoprice chat and checked on the status of my return instructions and they said they never received it and my return period is now over. On top of that, the Monolith was the same price on Amazon and Monoprice.com, and I bought direct from Monoprice so they could keep more of the money. If I would have purchased from Amazon then I would have been able to return the faulty product, but am now stuck with a $500 paperweight instead. Their return policy states things like "easy returns" and "for any reason." I bought a full swivel TV Wall Mount from a nice choice of models. I had it for a month already then decided to attach it to my TV, only to realize I chose the wrong fit for my flat screen. When I informed monoprice of my error they were very prompt and courteous in there response and issued me an immediate RMA (return certificate and code) and issued me a full refund, even at that late date. I ordered the ring doorbell and it was a great price. Not happy with "free shipping". The site shows 3 - 6 business days for shipping. Being based in SoCal I thought it would be closer to the 3 days being in NorCal. Monoprice had my order at FedEx office in Independence, KY on the 11th the day I placed the order. March 12th Departed Independence, Ky. Will arrive on the 19th. 6 business days later. Had I known it was not shipping out of CA I would have ordered from Amazon and had it today. I ordered some cables and monitors. Also placed a second order for some keyboards. I have since received the monitors but the other items have not shipped. BEWARE!! they like to limit material sold on their website to make extra cash on the back end. for example, if you need 50 each of an item, their website states "limit 20 per customer" so they make you purchase 3 separate transaction and charge you shipping 3 times! Why would you punish customers for buying more on your website? if you ever try calling them, good luck! their customer service department is a joke and practically non existent. I wish I could give them a Zero star rating! I've used Monoprice for years, and was always satisfied. However, in the past 6 months they've become ridiculously bad. I ordered a PCIe network card. They shipped a PCI card instead. I ordered 2 network cables on 4/14/2020 and as of 4/28/2020 they still have not arrived. I filed a complaint about the order and their response was to tell me to give it another 3 to 5 days. I could have walked the 30 miles between my home and their store way more than a dozen times over during that time, but they can't get 2 lousy cables delivered. I have been buying networking parts, (jacks, cable, connectors etc)for a couple years. The good thing is the prices are very reasonable and there is a variety of colors , when that is necessary for a particular job. HOWEVER, there are numerous issues with their IT side of the operation. Their own search engine does not recognize very common parts description, but if you go to Amazon with the same exact description, the first response is the Monoprice part with the P/N. Go back to Monoprice, enter the P/N and Voila!; there it is. They claim that if your order a part that is not currently in stock at the main warehouse, you will get an email to that effect. That has not happened yet with me. Another recent issue is a very simple 2 gang plate for 8 keystone style connectors. These are SUPPOSED to be universal across all manufacturers. THEIRS is not and does not work for the vast majority of inserts. There are complaints on their own page detailing this going back to 2011 and there are three responses from the company that they are aware of this and are supposedly having their product specialists look into it. Meanwhile we buy them from the order page assuming that they will work just like every other manufacturer's product does. Get on jobsite and UH, OH! Lost time, reordering from someone else, shipping, delays in job completion, deadlines missed, lost money, irate clients. All for a .98 cent plate. Also the "customer service" communication fiasco is beyond aggravating. Today I sat on hold (ignore) for 20 minutes and then got someone reading from a script that merely transferred me to another script reader and no resolution from the last three calls /emails sent to them. Their site claims a return call by the next business day. Uh........, NOPE. As I said, variety and price are the good points. Be prepared for lots of other issues when placing a parts order. Update 7-14-2017 Just received the latest order and once again, items are missing with NO email notification or on the shipping invoice. Twenty minutes on hold with a useless and repetitive loop of music(?) and suggestions to go on-line. Then finally a breathing person comes on only to tell me (so conveniently) that the customer service lead is out today. This order came in the same day I FINALLY got to talk to a real person in the AM about the first situation only to have it repeated that same afternoon. Update 7/26/2017 Still no response of any kind to a twp page letter and 5 call attempts. Their phone availability is 99% unanswered. I STILL am waiting for a single part on the original order of 60 items. 6 yellow CAT-5e jacks. Nothing in the snail mail, email, phone call, nothing. No response to the letter. I have been billed for the part but not received it. Oh, BTW, the original order in its entirety is STILL displaying in my cart and the order was placed on the 6th of July and I received all but one part. Very poor customer service i bought a power supply paid extra for overnight shipping to recieve by 10:30am. then told it wasn't avalible and I would recieve by Monday so I canceled and was told it was going to be sent back to sender which comes to yesterday where I recieved the item. They sent me a label to send it back which I am not supposed I had to pay more shipping for and was told I would not get a refund for very disappointing dont buy from them Edit was told after they recieved the product which they did from tracking number i was supposed to recieve my refund now they are telling me its going to be 7-10 days before they process the return and then another 3-5 for a refund so for a total of 10-15 days I have to wait for my money to get back on q product I canceled and they say they put in to return to sender which is false even when they sent me the label that was supposed to be for return I had to pay for it which was a grand total of 50 dollars alone in shipping. This is a horrible company. I ordered USB-C to lighting cable and they ship me a cheap cat-7 network cable. We all make mistake which is okay. The return process is so silly. There is no email or phone call. I have to go through a live chat, take a picture of the wrong product and upload to them through Gofile. It takes a PhD to do that. I took the picture of the product with the shipping label and sent over. They are still not sure that wrong shipping. I have to provide the part number and detail on the cable to prove them. It took me 40 minutes for the process. And we still could not get it done. Update: they did reach out to me, FedEx two cable and refund the $10. I am updating from 1 star to 4 stars read more

The sign behind the will-call desk offers a 10% discount on your next order if you write a Yelp review. It also says that if you have a negative experience, tell a staff member. Somehow I don't think I'm gonna get the discount from this review. First, all my experiences with Monoprice web orders and shipping have been great. They offer good solid quality items at great prices, and they manage to ship to Arizona at warp speed. HOWEVER.... I urge - no I implore - you NOT to attempt to pick up anything on will-call! It will NOT be ready, and they will give you a look like a cow looking at a new gate when you ask when it will be ready. I literally waited for 2 hours to no avail, having placed the order 17 hours earlier. Matter of fact, the nice giggly young lady who was helping me was no longer around after a while. "Where did she go?" "She went home." So much for "tell a staff member." I talked to two other customers who were also waiting for their will-call orders. The first one was waiting for $10,000 worth of cables, and they kept him waiting for hours. (He's not gonna give you the next order for $100,000, sorry to say). The second fellow customer had ordered a pizza to be delivered to the will-call desk, so he could have his dinner while he waited. After waiting months for it to go on sale, I ordered an expensive item from Monoprice on Black Friday. On Tuesday, I got an email saying they cancelled my order (with no explanation given) and asked me to reorder. But the item was out of stock on their site. I passed on several good Black Friday deals from other retailers to purchase from Monoprice. But since they didn't cancel until after Black Friday & Cyber Monday, I missed all the deals and would have to pay hundreds more to get the same item. I had needed a product that did not come up when I searched. I phoned them and they aimed me at a product that fulfilled my needs. I have also used their generic printer ink cartridges for years and the quality has always been consistent. I have a Brother ink jet that gets heavy use and the results with their ink has always been first class. A definite Five Star company! read more

Monoprice's has a terrible return policy. I purchased Monoprice Weatherproof Hard Case with Customizable Foam, 10" x 8" x 4" Sold by Monoprice Inc for $24.99. The measurements were not accurate and I needed to return the item. I went on their website to request a return. It took them 2 days to answer my email. I was told to ship it back on my own to receive a refund. It cost me $20.00 for shipping. They do not pay for return shipping. This is terrible business practice. read more

Over the years I have bought products from them but their RMA policy will screw you in the end. I bought a 4K monitor that was promoted by 9to5 and it arrived, I installed it and threw out the box thinking it will work. It was defective. One of the reasons I bought from them was overnight shipping. It took them 5 days to issue a RMA. I have never, ever, ever heard anyone say ... "That is one good looking HDMI cable, is it a Monster cable?!" Or "That's so tight, where did you get that wall plate?" Or even "Damn that TV mount is sexy, how does it hold up your TV so well" So when I'm looking for anything having to do with my electronics, the first place I check is Monoprice. I read that some people have had customer service issues, but for me I use the online chat option first and they always provide me with different options and are far more affordable then other retail options. I think you'll be happy with your purchase ... unless you're a brand name whore. And no one likes to be considered a whore. read more
