I checked their website for an open time and booked an appointment. I was called to reschedule which I happily did. Then someone from the store called me to inform me that they were totally booked. I said thank you and informed them that someone needed to work on their website since it had open appointments and hung up. Previously enjoyed great service at a reasonable price. My last visit was terrible. Price for brake pads and labor outrageous. Never, ever, again! I scheduled an oil change and inspection and while completing it they found my brake pads needed to be replaced. When they called me to let me know I never asked for a price. (Shame on me) 45 minutes later I went to pick up my car and was charged $190 for brake pads and $160 for labor for brake pad installation.(45 minutes of work) OUTRAGEOUS! Came in w a coupon. First mistake. Always get crappy service when you're just doing an oil change and free tire rotation, even though I spent nearly $2k on tires there just a few months ago, and I'm not exactly an idiot when it comes to cars. (I do my own brakes and minor repairs, but save the dirty work for others.) Here's what happened: they stripped a lug nut (I can only assume they didn't hand thread it before taking the impact driver to it), blamed it on a crappy lug nut, and CHARGED ME FOR IT! I get it, it's hard to find quality employees, but at least own up to your stuff. Be prepared for a battle with the service manager when heading in there. read more

I'm going to just state facts in this review so that anyone can draw their own conclusion as to how you will be treated at this establishment. I took my 22 Sonata with only 20k miles on it to Monro Auto in Avon to check my brakes because of a shudder in my steering wheel and pedal. I dropped my car off for the appointment I had made and received a call several hours later that my front rotors were warped and needed to be replaced. I was told the price was going to be almost $700 for new front rotors and ceramic brake pads. This price is significantly higher than most places would charge including the dealer. However, I didn't really have any other choice but to let them do the work, so I gave them the go ahead. I then got a call a couple hours later saying they didn't have my pads or rotors in stock and that they had to order them, so I was going to have to wait until they could get the parts. I do have a full time job, but was understanding and made other arrangements. After a day and half of radio silence, I called them only to be greeted by a full voicemail box several times in a row. At this point, I am agitated that I am without my car and do not know what's happening. I called again and finally got an answer from a guy who was not friendly and seemed to be annoyed. He informed me that they couldn't find my parts anywhere and that he has to send his tech out to pick them up. Hmm. My car was ready to be picked up at the end of the day. The next day on my way to work I noticed that my steering wheel was still shaking and nothing had changed from before my service. I took it back and was told that it was a "manufacturing defect" and that they are going to order me new parts free of charge. 4 days later I got a call that they received my parts. They put them on for me, and I was able to pick my car up almost 8 hours later with the issues appearing to be resolved. This is until I reversed and pressed my brakes. Every time I do this, there is a loud metallic thud. I brought my car back to them for a THIRD time, only for the older man at the front desk to barely mumble something to me and send a tech out to listen. The tech heard the sound and put my car up on the lift and played with it for about 5 minutes. He got it down and informed me this had nothing to do with their service to my car and was a "driveline issue." When I said this issue started as soon as they gave me my car back he said he "didn't know what to tell me,"and this is where their involvement stopped. I then took my car to Vision Hyundai in Henrietta. I was waiting there for them to inspect the work that Monro had done on my car and not even 10 minutes in, one of the service advisors that was working at the service desk brought the "premium ceramic brake pads" that they had installed at Monro back to me and and tapped it gently on the corner of the drywall. The edge of this "premium" brake pad crumbled off. He then said that this is a semi metallic pad, not ceramic, and isn't even remotely the correct pad for my vehicle. The pad was moving around inside the caliper assembly. About an eighth of each pad wasn't making any contact with the rotor. They said that these things are major safety concerns. The tech said that when he removed the caliper, my "premium" pad immediately fell out on its own. He also said the rotors used were either never fully replaced or were absolutely bottom of the line garbage due to how rusty and beat up they already were. They even brought me into the service bay to let me take videos and pictures as proof. Vision did this all for me free of charge and left me with an invoice detailing Monro's willful negligence as proof for further action. The dealer also told me they wouldn't have even charged me much more than $700 for all new OEM pads and rotors for the front AND rear axel. My safety and well being were greatly risked in order to make a quick profit. read more

made an appointment, 10am, only 1 other car there on arrival, needed just an oil change, told 1 hour and will take it right in, said ok going to tops market next door and don't forget to reset the oil change needed display that they forgot last time, came back a bit over an hour and they hadn't taken it in, and in fact told me they were busy there were 5 other cars there now. we take 3 vehicles there and even have their drive card. not anymore they just lost quite a bit of business! took my keys back and left read more

After looking it up and discovering this isn't a first occurrence at any Monroe Muffler, I've decided this is worth the post. Whether it was done intentionally or not, I'm not sure, but I'm now delayed for my vacation 2 months later after an oil change. While finishing up they ended up putting my plug in so tight it stripped when a real mechanic tried removing it, resulting in extra costs for a new pan, plug, plus labor. I guess you can consider the one star as being given for their friendliness, but it's definitely not for their work. read more

We were driving from Greece to south Florida... and while driving down 390 on a sloppy, salty morning the WW Fluid sprayer stopped working. Tried to trouble shoot but it wasn't anything obvious... and it was much too dangerous to drive as is... stopped at a car dealership right off the highway and they directed us to Monro... I am so happy they did. The men working there took our van right into the bay and in a minute they diagnosed and fixed the problem (a hose had become detached)... we were back on our way in 10 minutes and the charge was more than fair. Scheduled an apt for my front brakes to be done over the weekend while on vacation. Schedule the appointment on a Thursday to be dropped of sat 7am then picked up right before close on Sunday as I needed a vehicle Monday morning. I arrive at 430 Sunday for them to tell me THEY HAVENT EVEN STARTED WORKING ON MY CAR. It had been backed up and lined up as if it was ready so I was shocked. After a letter to corporate (and no response) I figured I should update my experience at this Monroe for everyone to BE AWARE. DO NOT SERVICE YOUR CAR HERE. Pay the extra money at the darn dealership or find someone you can TRUST & rely on. Long story short they did the $360 job in an hour which I had to wait for. read more

I've never written a bad review before, but I feel this is necessary. I will never go to a Monro Muffler ever again.  I have had the worse experience and there customer service is horrible.  I had brand new tires put on my car back in December 2020 at Monro Muffler.  When I went to get my car inspected on 2/25/22 I was told my tires will never pass.  I haven't even had these tires a year and a half yet. I put roughly 18,000 miles on these tires, and they have a warranty for 40,000.   When I researched the tires I found out they should never have been put on my car because there not compatible, and they admitted to this on the phone.  They also said I okayed the wrong tires.  Who would okay the wrong tires, and who would even sell someone tires that weren't compatible?  They also told me the manager who use to work there was fired for this exact reason.  They wanted me to bring the tires back to them so they could inspect them(I also provided proof of tire rotations that were done during oil changes). They told me some of the tires were fine, and they didn't all need to be replaced.  However, the two tires were worn so I could keep 2 out of 4 of them.  I have an AWD car and can't have different tires on my car because it would put unwanted stress on the AWD drive train which can damage it and cost me more money.  They also said they would have passed the tires (they never would have passed anywhere else).  I didn't have them inspect my car because the last time I was there (just a few months ago for a car headlight bulb) they told me I needed new brakes.  When I went to get my brakes done at a local garage they told me my breaks were fine.  I got a second opinion and was told again my breaks were fine.  I do not trust this company, and the reason I'm writing this is to help others not get scammed by them.  I feel as though I was taken advantage of because I'm a women, and don't know much about cars. I gave them an opportunity to make this right, and they refused to help me.  The only thing they care about is making sales even when it's not morally correct. I'm hoping writing this review will help others not go through what I have gone through with this company. read more

I had called and was told to drop my car off at 10 am this morning and pick it up around 3 pm and they could do the oil change I requested. I made arrangements to get a ride so that I could drop it off and change my whole schedule for my only day off only to be told when I was at the counter that they were overbooked. The nice gentleman at the desk said that I must have talked to Marcus yesterday, and that he's been telling so many people to just drop their cars off and they end up overbooking for the past year it's been going on. I wasn't at all mad at the man at the desk since it wasn't his fault and he had a lot of cars to get done that day and I've been in his shoes time and again. I usually have my brothers, who are both mechanics, do all the work on my cars since I trust them, but when they're not available I had called Monroe Muffler 3 times this past year and each time this same situation has happened. I'm very displeased with the service there and will not make the mistake again of giving them a 4th chance. read more
