Location: Penfield, NY Your job was to BALANCE and put them on PROPERLY! I have been back twice because when I drive over 60 mph the steering wheel shakes. I was told that the front was not balanced? WHAT? And that you did me a FAVOR and "FIXED" all of them? OH and by the way, what happen to my wheel weights. HORRIBE first time experience and last. I have mixed opinions about this Goodyear franchise. I came here regularly years ago because I found the staff to be honest and trustworthy. I stopped coming for a while, but only because I was getting free maintenance with Dorschel during my lease. I finally returned today. To my great disappointment, the staff suggested lots of unnecessary work which would have made my visit significantly more expensive. I reviewed the invoice with the receptionist line-by-line, crossing out things which he himself admitted were not essential: duct cleaning, a tire warranty, an expensive alignment plan which would have allowed me to get more alignments in the future, and more. I'm not an economist, but I know that these plans and warranties are unlikely to save me money in the long run. If they were, Goodyear wouldn't be selling them. If peace if mind is what you're after, sure. But that's a different story. When all was said and done, I had saved about $500 by removing these unsolicited extras. That's not a small chunk of change. I left disappointed, wondering how else they screwed me over. After reviewing the invoice with another person, it became clear that I also overpaid for alignment and the cabin filter. They charged me $95 for alignment and $50 for the cabin filter, including $10 of cabin filter labor. I have to give the receptionist credit for not fighting me on these adjustments. He even admitted that some of the work was non-essential. I can even understand that businesses are struggling right now, but that's no excuse to screw customers. Customers are struggling, too. It's disappointing to know that I would have spent an extra $500 for little to no benefit benefit had I not read the invoice carefully. I'm sorry to say that I don't think I'll be back. All of that being said, the work they do is very good, as far as I can tell, the staff is knowledgeable and professional, and the waiting room is clean, with free water and decent WiFi. They didn't poke me in the eye. My car didn't explode. So 2 stars it is. read more

Ended up here to repair a tire since my usual mechanic isn't open on the weekend. Scheduling online was simple and the employee was able to easily pull up my information (have had issues with that in the past with Dorschel). The staff were very friendly and my vehicle was taken back promptly. They found and showed me a screw that had gotten embedded into my tire and then patched it up for free. I was in there for about an hour total, which wasn't bad given that they had a full lot (and then some) of vehicles to tend to. This location also offers free water/coffee/tea and I noticed they had a specific box to put used Keurig pods in to be recycled - always a plus! Will definitely make this place my go-to backup mechanic. read more

I have been bringing my car there for the last 6 years and the team there is amazing! The manager is professional and always has a smile on his face. I've never been blind sided with a repair, and what I did need they broke down for me what was necessary. When I got snow tires on in the late fall I was in their shop within 2 days of calling. Quite honestly as a woman, I used to be nervous about what repair shops would try to sell me, but I have not had any bad experiences here. I have recommended them to others and have friends that now go there as well having similar experiences! read more

Checked my truck in while I was out of town due to a fluid leak. Not only was the gentleman condescending and arrogant, but he had a hard time identifying the fluid, missed easy fixes for the problem, didn't recommend simple but necessary repairs for long trips and spent his time and effort trying to squeeze $400-500 out of me. Where my bill should have been about $50, he neglected any sense of honesty and wasted as much of my time as possible. What likely didn't help was that I was a woman - and he obviously didn't like my visit with my "boyfriend" (husband of 9 years) and chose to take advantage of the situation by any means possible. I wouldn't consider recommending this shop to my enemy. An oil leak isn't fixed by a clutch fan and housing, nor does it make any sense to argue PCV valves with me. Obviously, one should consider starting with small problem solving ideas and work up to cover all bases. This place immediately jumped to the biggest, quickest fix they could wring out of me. I thought Goodyear was reputable, but not this one. I'd spend my money at a dealership rather than this place (and he overfilled my oil by half a quart, even though it wasn't leaking. What would have helped would be a transmission flush, but he didn't even mention it until his shop closed for the night.) In short, this likely the most irritating business I've visited in at least the last year, maybe more. I can't say one good thing about them except they fixed my leak - and they either don't even know how they fixed it OR won't tell a woman or her unappealing out-of-town "boyfriend". read more

This place is a complete scam. My daughter took her car in for an inspection. She happened to mention that she was planning a road trip. Well. They failed her inspection saying that the car needed 4 new tires due to secondary rubber showing. I was nearby and stopped in. He showed me a very suspicious shadowy area on 2 tires. The guy was hemming and hawing about the explanation. I told him no. I don't agree and will have my regular mechanic look at it. My mechanic happened to have looked at it three weeks ago and had mentioned to me that her tires looked like they had about another year on them. My mechanic was out of town, hence the visit to Goodyear. There are also national comments on this company in general for their shady practices. I would never take another car to then ever!!! We have four cars in our family and we take all four of them to Goodyear in Penfield. Sean, the store manager, is very competent, honest, knowledgeable and accommodating. The staff at Goodyear are always professional and do a great job explaining the services that you are receiving in detail along with an upfront estimate of costs. Sean is the reason that most people frequent the Penfield store. We have bought all of our regular tires as well as our snow tires from Goodyear. The price is always comparable to other tire stores and I love the rebates that Goodyear has (an added bonus!). Getting four cars in to change tires to snows and back again is no easy feat but Sean always manages to get all of our cars done in a timely manner. We have had every service done on the cars from NYS inspections, oil changes, brakes and alignments. Goodyear's alignment package (6 alignments in a 3-year period) is an awesome deal. The service is great, the personnel that work at the front desk (Sean and Rob) are knowledgeable and easy to deal with and the techs do a quality job on each of our cars. The mechanics at the Penfield Goodyear store are top notch with years of experience. All work is done fast with quality and efficiency in mind and usually finished before the time that it was promised. Fast, honest and quality service is what I always get. I have never had a bad experience at Goodyear and would never think of going anywhere else for our automotive needs. read more

These guys are great! We got a flat tire nearby on a cold Monday night after work and they fixed it right away. Fast and good service.

My car was towed here after a blown out front left tire by a AAA tow truck around 4:30pm. I was greeted by Sean, the manager, who was willing to look at my car immediately even though he had other cars in the shop. He explained the problem clearly and offered a variety of services and rebates for those services without being pushy about it. The alignment couldn't be done the same day but he promised it to be done the next day. I got a call at exactly 9am the next morning that the car was ready. Once I arrived he explained the issues with the car and that the shop had rectified all the tire an alignment problems with the price we discussed the day prior. My 90,000+ miles car now rides like a new car and I would recommend this place to anyone even if they don't own a car because the service was that good! read more

I agree with the review above mine. I knew the minute I walked into this place I was going to get the run around. First of all the place was empty, a good indication that they are not doing any business and are going to try and take what they can get. I left my car to have a tire patched and went across the street to get some lunch with my son. I got a phone call that said they would be unable to patch the tire and because I had all wheel drive on my car I would need four new tires. Is this guy for real? He really must've thought I was born yesterday. I told him to put the tire back on the car and I would take it somewhere else. I took my car to Monro Muffler in Penfield where I always take my car, because I trust them. Their machine was down, but he sent me to Dial-a-tire in Fairport where they fixed it in no time flat! I would never take my car to Goodyear again and am enraged that this kind of "service" still happens in 2014. We are not stupid women. We are educated and probably know more than you! read more

I have been very pleased with the services provided by the Penfield Goodyear Service Center. I have purchased tires for multiple vehicles as well has having brake service and oil changes. The staff has been pleasant and professional to deal with. They have never been pushy or tried to up-sell me. The shop is clean and well maintained. I have dropped off my vehicle as well as waited ... either way, they completed the work in time that they quoted. read more

I switched to this shop after having a few bad experiences with another place in Penfield; My first apt was great. I had an oil change and inspection; they presented some things that required fixing but all were very small and affordable; nothing major or mysterious. They also had some suggestions for me, but were not pushy at all or nasty when I declined some of the things I can do myself (e.g. wipers). I think they did a great job with my car & I have not had anything mysterious happen since taking it in, as I did with the other place. I plan to return again! read more
