They attempted to fix my tire sensor light, I had to take it back a week later..only for them to tell me there's nothing they can do and that I'd have to take my car to the Lexus dealer ship to get it reprogrammed.. they asked if I had a spare tire with a tire sensor in the trunk of the car which I did and they said there was no tire sensor on the spare tire which tells me that they didn't even bother to check the spare tire, I had to go through all this trouble just for the Lexus dealership to tell me that all they needed to do was take the tire sensor off the spare tire to fix the issue. ‍ read more

do not use them. I brought my Tesla in and they definitely have no experience with them. I just needed my tires and rims changed. they did. balance was all off and when I came back the next morning, they said that rim was bent. brand new rims. I gave them one of old ones, and when I drove away my balance was still off. I went straight to mavis by giant and they confirmed the balance was way off. long story I went in for tire and wheel change, I came out with a bent ri, unbalanced car, and 285$ for what the other shop said should be 161. I am filing a law suit and I will be filing with better business bureau. This will be resolved and I encourage no one to use Monroe. read more

Follow up to my previous review: Noah Millisock the tech forgot to put the cap on my engine after an oil change causing my engine to seize. I called Monroe and spoke with Noah. He told me he would file a claim. When I asked for paper work after not hearing from Monroe for two days he denied having paper work and said he sent it in with out making copies. When I called the claims department the claim was never filed. The claim was then filed and my engine was repaired. I was also given a rental during the repair. Bottom Line if there is damage to your car report it Monroe will fix it. Avoid using the Monroe on 5th Street Highway. read more

We Recently had break service done here. We had appointment for service and still had to wait another day till the work was done. They over book here and I have to wonder if it's all about the $$ money. I had a problem with the break another day so we had to take it back. They told us they checked it and now they want to tell us there's nothing wrong with the breaks. ?? Not understanding any of this now, as I know I had problems driving. I experienced the smell of something hot and burning and seeing smoke coming from the tire area. I drove some distance so I know this happened. So much more happened after discovering the problem and getting home.. that I'm not going to get into it all. I'm not a child and I have a safe driving record, so people don't crap on me! Be careful.. Do Not trust taking your vehicle here and feeling safe driving it afterwards ! paid for work that was never done! I had a problem with my check inlet light and had the work done to resolve the issues. I left the lot and light is still on.. I took my SUV back twice and still not resolved. I have my SUV now scheduled to be looked at by another shop. I also looked at the reviews on other platforms and see this is a consistent thing with this business. just awful read more

I was told the inspection I had scheduled in advance would be 30-45 minutes. I waited almost 2 hours. The shop is filthy and unorganized. The employees routinely ignore customers who are standing in front of them while they have private conversations and answer the phone. I will never use Monro again for anything. Took my car there for an inspection and some basic repairs. My car sat in the shop for five days, communication with the team was slow and unresponsive. Every time they said they'd call back and update me they never did, and I had to keep calling for more information. They made it seem like they were farther along than they really were, which led to the repairs taking unnecessarily long. Decent pricing but other than that I wouldn't recommend. read more

My wife, daughter and I have been going to this Monro location for years, due to location, and convenience of making an appointment. My daughter was there for an oil change. With the oil change they do things like check brakes, tires, etc. After changing the oil, they told my daughter she needed new brakes. Fortunately, she didn't have them installed. A week later she had a yearly inspection at the dealer. They checked her brakes and told her that the brakes were like new!! Our family will no longer use Monro for any of our Automotive needs. I wonder how much they have ripped us off over the years. You always hear about how automotive places try to take advantage of young women-here is a case where it actually happened. read more

I had a nail in my rental car tire and was leaking air quickly. I was on the way from the airport to visit my father in the Reading Hospital who had a cardiac emergency right before Christmas. Monro was able to quickly help me out under a very stressful situation. I explained the situation to the Service Manager Dave French and he was able to work me in to help me out. I give kudos to Mr. French and the Monro staff for doing a great job and quickly helping me out to get to the hospital. Thank you very much and I highly recommend Monro. read more

I took my car there to do a lot of work to it that totals over $2,000 in just labor. It took me complaining 3 days after I gave the ok to start the work for them to put it in 1 of the bays. We are on day 6 or 7 of it being in the bays and they have only worked on it for 1 1/2 hours and that was AGAIN after I started to complain. I told them that the car HAS TO BE DONE BY FRIDAY and I know for a fact that the mechanic that is to be doing the work is off Thursday and Friday. So there is a 99% chance that it will not be done by the time that I need it. read more

Been telling my husband for months that my brakes weren't right - coming back from vacation, he finally "smelled" the proof. I have been to this location twice. Once was due to a brake problem (left the emergency brake on in my car), the other was just today for a tire that was leaking. I walked in both times without an appointment and the staff was happy to help me, even on an extremely busy Saturday. They charged for what was needed and nothing more and price was very reasonable in my opinion. I believe they are fair and won't do anything extra without asking you first. If you are not sure about a price, ask first and then decide. They will make recommendations if necessary, but the customer is not obligated to accept them. For major services you could probably find a smaller company that charges less, but the staff here is friendly and willing work with what their customer wants. Have been very happy so far. read more

Saw the $19.99 oil change advertised on the street and called ahead to schedule a good time to go in. Got in the next day no problem and turns out it was a life saver- The oil change special included a tire rotation, and the guys discovered that my back left caliper was bad. I had literally replaced my back brakes a week earlier at a different shop, and Monro Muffler could tell that the piece was new, but was a bad piece, leaking my brake fluid. I returned to the shop where I had my brakes done, but they harassed me and refused to acknowledge the problem. I returned to Monro Muffler distraught, and they provided sympathy and offered any help they could give. I returned to Monro Muffler a week later, and they rechecked the caliper and confirmed it was definitely leaking. They did this at no extra charge! Luckily the brake shop replaced my caliper under warranty, but I would absolutely recommend this Monro Muffler location to anyone who wants to feel valued as a costumer, and know that their car is in good hands! read more

Im a very new teen driver, who had my first ever check engine light problem. I know absolutely nothing about cars, so first I went to an auto shop for a free check about the engine light where I was told it was a cylinder misfire, the next day I brought my car here, had a diagnostic test run and 3 days later was told it would be near $1000 to fix "everything" wrong with my car. After going over what needed to be addressed vs what should be addressed it was still near $500 (if not over). The worker who was telling me about the problems assured me if I took it to a car dealership I would be over charged and ripped off.... I took my car elsewhere (which ended up being a car dealership) and paid $165 to fix the one problem causing the check engine light. Everything on the list of "problems" were false and just a scheme to get more money out of me, and the diagnostic test that was run did not determine any specific problem that I couldn't have found out through google.. all the listed "problems" that needed to be fixed were generic to a cylinder misfire, even though I was told the diagnostic test would pinpoint the problem.I am very disappointed because I really trusted what the worker was telling me and he continued assuring me that they had the best prices, from my experience they do not and they are not as honest as they claim to be. Of course this could just be my experience and I hope no one else has been lied to and overcharged, but if I wouldn't have gotten a second opinion I would've been $900 overcharged. read more

Let me first start by saying that I have been a loyal customer to this garage for over 5 years. Every Time I had an issue with my vehicle, I brought it here since it was only a few minutes away. I am not a mechanic, and I know nothing about cars so I trusted their mechanics and all that they would tell me that was wrong with my vehicle. Every time I went, the bill was over 800 dollars. I would pay it since I needed my car back, but I always thought it was high. My trust for them was taken advantage of this week when I took my vehicle in to replace what they said was the left wheel hub and bearings. I was given another high quote, this time 1300 dollars to which I was very shocked by. He said I had BIG problems! He also explained how the last people to put tires on my car put cheap tires on my car even though I paid over 900 to install them...and the thing was, they were the people who installed them for me! When he said this I became skeptical about this quote, and finally decided to remove my loyalty to them and look around. It only took a few minutes and one other auto garage to find out that Monro has been ripping me off for 5 years! I took to another shop the info monro gave me and he first said that this is way to high for the repair they wanted to fix but he would take a look at it. Long story short, I paid 165.00 to fix my car which was about 1100.00 cheaper then what monro quoted me! I asked the mechanic why was it so much cheaper, and he had no clue either as to why they were charging me so much. Monroe was charging me for 5 hours of labor and the new mechanic said it only took him an hour and a half. I can only imagine the how much more this place has ripped me off over the years! And every time I am in there, I hear the mechanic spouting on the phone telling people that to fix their car, it would be over 1000 dollars. This place is a place that cannot be trusted! I was also told that I needed new brakes even though I just had breaks installed there! When I said this, he said oh well they aren't that bad, they are just a little low. To think that they do not know about the thousands that I dropped there was more reason for me to look around elsewhere. And I am glad that I did because I saved 1100 dollars! My wife's and my Mohnton friends recommended this Monro shop. They had purchased tires there recently for a fair price. Our 2005 Lexus SUV was on battery/alternator life support. We took it to Monro on Columbus weekend Saturday, hoping it could be repaired within a couple of days. We had to be on the road Columbus Day. Assist. Mgr. René was professional and candid in his "hope for the best" assessment. I promised to include new tires if the car could be ready on Sunday. The parts arrived, so I ordered the new tires. We picked up the car on Sunday afternoon. The only glitch, which got fixed this past weekend, was our electric windows not having been reprogrammed. Other than that, the price for labor, tires, battery, and alternator was reasonable, and the staff, headed by Mgr. Shawn Hankinson was excellent. This Monro shop is recommended! read more

Their motto is "Because you need to trust who's working on your car." Wish I could say this was the case with this location. I purchased 4 tires - they got lost(?) on the day they were supposed to be installed, even after reserving them for that specific day. After locating them and taking until 6:15pm to install (when I dropped the car off in the morning), I got the car back only to notice that the tires kept losing air pressure. After 3 days, one tire went from 32psi to 16psi. I took the car back in (another day without my car) but when I picked it up I was told from one tech, "he couldn't find anything wrong so he just put more air in the tires". I never received one phone call from them, I always had to call to see what the status of the car was - even after waiting until late in the day. Perhaps if muffler and brake work is their forte they should stick with that - tires and customer service clearly are not their thing. I am taking my vehicle to a reputable mechanic to have the tires fixed once and for all - even if they held air, I wouldn't trust the finished product from Monro at this point. read more
