He said around 45 minutes, which is usually the time frame for an oil change. My fiance and I went to breakfast and before a little bit before we left breakfast the car was already done. The guy working at this location (Don, I believe?) should NOT be working around customers if the way that he spoke to me is the way he speaks to everyone. I didn't predict that my car's headlight would decide to burn out today. I didn't have time to make an appointment, and this was the only time that I could stop in (I work 10 hour shifts) without running the risk of driving in the dark and getting into an accident or being pulled over. That's ALL I wanted to avoid. I even began the conversation courteously apologizing that I didn't make an appointment, and just wanted to know if I could get the bulb replaced. Well, he cut me off right in the middle of a sentence, barking in my face "I CAN'T DO IT RIGHT NOW, YOU'LL HAVE TO COME BACK." .... for real? Why even ask me "can you help me" if you clearly can't.... or won't?! OK I work in the customer service industry. I'm not insensitive to being busy.If he had just tried returning my courtesy, I would have completely understood, and perhaps, have returned at a later time. But I DO NOT appreciate being spoken to in the manner and tone of which he spoke to me after being a customer (one of his, as a matter of fact), for years. I think Dan is the manager and he has a brand of humor i've hardly ever encountered. he's really sarcastic and kind of rude in a joking way, but not. he's also got a story for everything. the last time i was there it was something about wrestling alligators and then there was something else about bears in pickup truck beds. i don't know. he also has this kind of look about him like you're not sure if he's just joking around with you or if he's serious. it might be a little difficult to deal with unless you're comfortable around guys who think they're funny and/or aren't offended easily. then there's this other guy who actually works on my car. i can't remember his name, but the last time i got my oil changed he called me like three times afterwards. in a row. the first one i missed. the second one he said he lost his credit card and was hoping it was in my car. but then as i'm in the parking lot of my gym with the driver's side door open and the back door open looking for said card he drops this beauty: "are you sure your boyfriend wasn't driving your car and found it?" at that point i knew what the game was...and i felt like an idiot for being on the ground looking for something that clearly didn't exist! i give him points for trying, but it was probably the weirdest attempt at a pickup ever for me. (tops the rittenhouse guy.) i told him i was the only one driving and i hope he finds it. he called me back about 10 minutes later, which was supposedly an accident. but he kind of just kept talking...and he definitely asked me out. i had to tell him i'd see him in april or in 3000 miles, whichever came first. but now i'm stuck in limbo. i really like taking my car here and i trust their service, but i don't want it to be weird if i'm not interested in dating my mechanic! note to girls who are considering this place: you'll probably get hit on if you take your car here. upshot: they always give me a discount without having a coupon, which HAS to be just because i'm a girl. last time they gave me the "senior" discount which was like 20% off. read more

First of all I have taken my car here a total of three times. The first time was fine and couldn't be happier. The second I went in for breaks and they said my breaks were fine. Less than a week later I brought the car back because I heard the break squealers. I needed new breaks; expressed my frustration that the car was just in less than a week prior and they said the breaks were fine. I just found out, by taking my car somewhere else that they put my tires on inside out -- either on purpose or negligence. I don't recommend taking your car to this establishment. Although they were mostly nice, they did not hit the deadlines they set for themselves and did not call to give me an update on my car when they missed that deadline. I honestly wish I could give this place zero stars. I have been coming here for a little over a year, and the customer service is always terrible. The wait time is also usually pretty outrageous as well. I had been looking past all that because their oil changes were fairly cheap but its just not worth dealing with their god awful customer service. A while back they fixed a windshield wiper of mine (with a ratchet that took all of 1 minute) and it crapped out on me during a snow storm. I took it back for them to fix it and not only did he tell me I had to wait an hour (No one else was there) but he wanted to charge me a crazy amount for a 1 minute job (that they already did). I ended up leaving and buying a ratchet and fixing it myself. Terrible service has lost a long time customer. Ill be sticking to pep boys now I suppose. read more

Monroe Muffler has changed their oil changes. Coupons for 19.99 oil change cost 40.00 because it does not include the filters anymore . They charge 8 dollars for the filter. They do not tell you that. I asked why it fost so much and they reply our fees went up. They lost customers in my big family. I will tell all my friends to go elsewhere. DONE read more

Ugh where to start w/ this place?! I've dealt with this place off and on for over 5 yrs. Now, I'm a car girl, and I know LOTS about cars, I know what will needs to be replaced, what shouldn't be replaced over X amount of time, etc. So some years back my usual shop monkey (at another shop) insisted a wheel hub needed replacement. I knew that was incorrect so I took it to Monro and the then manager (Brian I believe) gave me a second opinion and he confirmed I was right. I liked him and I trusted him. I still went back to my usual shop because I also liked the staff, aside from that one idiot. So fast forward. My boyfriend took his car there and it was in and out of Monro for months without the same problem being fixed. His check engine light kept coming on and they kept saying something else needed replacing. They put the car on the lift and suddenly the brake lines broke (WTF!). He paid to replace those. In the end, he paid $4k in under a year and still had problems. Regional management stepped in after we contacted them, only then the problem was fixed. I took my new, yet very slightly used car in for inspection since I bought it in NJ. Seeing that it looked brand new they just slapped inspection stickers on. They never pulled the wheels (they never asked where the wheel lock keys were) and they improperly filled out the back of the sticker. There was no indication of which wheels were pulled. So basically they just took $80 w/o doing anything. Also, they gave me an emissions exempt sticker when I should not have received on. The recent management here has made this place go down the tubes. The regional manager apologized and mentioned that the then manager was fired since inspection stickers went missing. We haven't been back since, not sure if this location has improved. We're not willing to risk it though. read more

Not only did they accept my proposal for a next day appointment, but they were able to replace my muffler and gasket within a half hour at a cheaper price than they originally quoted (which was already cheaper than a quote I got from another shop).
