We went here for a silent clubbing party. We reached early, around 10 pm when the party was just getting started. We picked up our earphones and glow in the dark gear, it was a really fun and different experience. All the 3 channels are good and were playing nice tracks. The party was on till 2 am and the only drawback was that the staff in the bar was walking around constantly which was disturbing us from dancing in our group. This happened almost 4-5 times when they were moving furniture or themselves walking around in the crowd. I understand that they were bouncers and looking out for us, but it was way too frequent and disturbing. The club was getting a little hot, so we moved to the bar area which led to a patio which has some sitting. That was pretty nice as we could rest our feet for some time there, get some fresh air and then return to dancing. The silent clubbing concept was pretty good, you can dance to the music and still have your conversations without yelling into each other's ears. Will definitely go to this club again for a future silent disco event. The bottle service was also around $300 which included a bottle of vodka and mixes, including the tax and service fees, pretty decent for a group of 8 people or less. The club location is really great in the sense that you can have a nice dinner in one of the italian restaurants on the street and head to the club, also, after the party there is a pizza place right opposite to the club where you can have a midnight snack :) read more

This place was okay. We arrived and the lines were very long and the place was packed. One of the bouncers was pretty rude and not very helpful... we had a reservation for the night and he just said we weren't on the list and told us to just get in line. Not much later a different person came by and helped us right away and we were able to get in. Let me tell you, the place was only half full and the place felt like I was at my 24 hour fitness Suana The service is horrible here as well, they don't even poor your drinks for you. You have to ask for cups and shot glasses, and not to mention contantly remind the host to bring you more glasses, shot glasses, napkins and chasers. Came here to celebrate its one-year Anniversary along with a friend's fashion launch party. I arrived early to savor the complimentary treats i.e., drink samples, sushi, etc. I wouldn't come to this part of town for the clubs/lounges if it wasn't to celebrate a friend's party. It's classier than the others down the street. This spot has changed its name several times. Broadway is just too ghetto! The interior is chic and the comfy couches are a nice touch. If I could give this place a negative review, I would. It's Friday, St. Patrick's Day and it's crowded in this place and the wait is 20+ minutes which is WAY too much. We get inside after 40 minutes and it's crowded and hot and men are grabbing on me, and it's gross. Then my sister gets approached by a lady who works at the club and is EXTREMELY rude!! She is racist and nasty and called my sister a racial slur which I would not like to repeat because it made us EXTREMELY uncomfortable. I will never come back here. The people at the front were so focused on letting people in who had "reservations" but when I approached those people they did NOT have reservations. Inside and outside are two different stories. I'm not the first to notice that, and while I'm not bagging on the exterior -- it's fine, if a little plain -- the interior is just pretty distinctive so the disconnect is obvious. I was here for a private event, so I can't really testify to what you might find on a regular night, and even if I had come on a regular night I don't think I'm the best judge of some of their attributes: I'm not a drinker and though I can say the bar is long and prominent, I have no idea if they sling a good cocktail. What I can say, though, is that it's a memorable night. There's a long bar on the entrance, and then lots of booths near the back. You'll be tempted to call it retro, vintage, or art deco, but it also has a neon sign that says "Let's Get Physical" so it's kind of a hodge podge, with a little art deco sensibility. We had a karaoke night, and while I'm not the target audience for said activity in that crowd, I was glad there were places to sit and catch up with coworkers before we all flew out the next day. It was quite intimate for our group of about 120 people, but it had everything we could have asked for: -A bar with plenty of great options. -A room for a photobooth, which was actually on a patio and allowed for some fresh air. -A dance floor/b-boy performance stage. -A stage where much bad karaoke was peformed. Came here on a Friday for Battle of the Decades and it was certainly a long, but fun night. I'd recommend getting there early while it's less crowded and drinks are super cheap (a good spot for post-work drinks!). The music is on the louder side, but you'll be able to grab some drinks while they're cheap and more importantly, get a stamp for later, if you want to return. We left around 7pm for a few hours to grab dinner, and by the time we returned, there was a pretty long line to get in, but thankfully we used our stamps to walk right in. The bar gets pretty crowded as the night goes on and the wait can get up to 45 min to get in, so earlier is better. For me, the peak music was the 90s and 00s from 8-10pm. Surprisingly, when it hit the 10s, the DJ played less recognizable songs and only a few hits here and there, which I thought was weird. It's definitely cramped on the dance floor, but everyone was there having a good time, so it wasn't anything unusual. read more

Decades night at Monroe is always a blast, just make sure to not get here too early, otherwise there isn't much, or too late as there are way too many people. It's a good first stop, but since they stopped offering shots, drinks are pretty low in alcohol so take that into account, combined with the huge amounts of people it can be rough sometimes. read more

I'll say I love the concept of Battle of the Decades. 50's-60s music at 5pm, 70s at 6pm, 80s at 7pm, etc. Drink prices start at $1 at 5pm and increase by a dollar every hour until they get to normal prices (I think around 8pm, but don't quote me on that). The two things keeping it from reaching its full potential are the overcrowding and on the nights I went, what seems like an inexperienced DJ. I understand there's a lot of material to go through and not every song will be played all the way through. But, when the entire dance floor is going off on, "Tainted Love," ffs, don't cut it after the first chorus to seque into, "Fast Car," By Tracy Chapman. Also, there were a lot of moments of two songs that don't go together being played at the same time. While I appreciate the experimentation, it was hard to keep a groove during the more quicker moving song changes. Around 8pm, the sub is cranked to a point where it sounds like someone is blazing their car stereo over a song that you're trying to listen to. Finally, an hour of 80s and no Prince, 1 MJ song, 1 cut-short Madonna song? Blasphemy! Finally, the over-crowding. What is the point of eventbrite reservations when it gets to the point where you can't dance without hitting someone or being hit, constantly being pushed, etc.? At a certain point, it stops being enjoyable, imo. There should be a limit on how many people can enter. That said, this event is better than 95% of any other club events in the city. read more

Celebrated my birthday here on a Friday night. From my initial inquiry, all the way to the end of the night, everything was awesome. Sarah helped me out, and answered all the questions I had. It was super easy to book a table, and their prices are very reasonable!!!! The hosts of the night were awesome, and they always made sure everything was good. First of all, the photos on Yelp are a little misleading. I thought that this was a bar lounge kind of thing that has that fancy vibe like Great Gatsby. It's a club! A super crowded one too. It kinda seemed like it was even over the capacity. However, we got a table so my experience was pleasant as we got our own private space. The decor of the place is super cool though. Loved it! The best part is the music!! The first half of the night, the music was super amazing. All the throwback songs and 2019 hits were super fun, before it became a series of songs that I just never heard of. Who wouldve thought that I would be clubbing to Bad Guy by Billie Eilish or Bye Bye Bye by N Sync or even Harlem Shake? Hahah. With the arrival of Monroe, there is officially a place for all tastes in the hood. Monroe's look? Pretty slick. A trendy blue wall, massive mirrors, tasteful chandeliers delicately dropped from airy ceilings. Check out the photos. The drinks? Ah, there's the bit of the rub. The brunette bartendress was awkward behind the bar, throwing together a sad version of a cocktail on their menu. She told me there's another bartender who is the mixologist. So, in the meantime, they have an inexperienced person manning that menu? tsk. The vibe? It was pretty quiet at 7pm Wednesday so I can't say. This is now my favorite club in SF! If you want a happy go lucky time with cheap drinks and great music, I recommend to come here when they have their Battle of the Decades event. It's every Friday. No cover charge when I went, but I did arrive around 7ish p.m., so not sure if that made a difference in anything. It basically works like this: $1 well drinks and beer at 5:00 p.m. - 60's music $2 well drinks and beer at 6:00 p.m. - 70's music $3 well drinks and beer at 7:00 p.m. - 80's music $4 well drinks and beer at 8:00 p.m. - 90's music (my favorite!) $5 well drinks and beer at 9:00 p.m. - 00's music $6 premium drinks at 10:00 - 11:00 p.m. - 10's music Bar is cash only. Bartenders are really fast with service. I recommend when you first come in, to go to the bar by the dance floor as there may be less people there ordering drinks. Monroe is kind of small, but I did not feel cramped. Crowd was cool, drinks were cheap, and you're guaranteed to have fun! I come with my friends most Fridays for Battle of the Decades- where at 5pm they play 60s music and drinks are $1, 6pm they play 70s music and drinks go up to $2 etc etc. The staff is so friendly and fun, and the after work crowd is always in the mood for a good time. Before my recent trip to SF, I looked on Eventbrite for something to do on a Friday night. I found out about the decades party and thought it would be interesting. My friends and I got there around 6 and started ordering drinks. I ordered 5 drinks ( 2 cranberry vodka & 3 whiskey sour) during a span of an hour and half. The drinks tasted nice but really watered down, I didn't feel a thing. My friends and I moved closer to the DJ booth half way through the 80's set list. The DJs switched from time to time but all 3 or 4 of them were really great. The playlist was great, my body kept moving. I probably burned through all the calories I ate earlier. They didn't have a "drink menu", so you just order whatever the bartender can make. We both just ordered a vodka sprite (super heavy alcohol pour, which I wouldn't have minded if I was trying to get drunk lol, but it was hard to drink honestly). The music playlist was really fun, great for dancing. A major downside to this place was that they didn't have air conditioning and because it was SUPER packed, it was a bit unbearable. Sarah Dunn was exceptional to work with from a planning perspective - she was thoughtful, responsive, calm and organized. She helped organize every aspect of the party, including personalized menu and drink selections. Also the bartender (Dan) on the day of the events was incredible -- the drinks were fantastic, and he was able to keep rolling out drinks for our pretty large party. We had a singer & jazz band play during the party, but nearly half our party stuck around after 10pm because their house DJs killed it. Lastly, the venue itself is gorgeous and unique -- I definitely recommend it for a private event, as the space has an incredible vibe to it :) read more

Simply the best. I booked Monroe SF for my 60th birthday party and it was perfection. The venue is gorgeous with a highly sophisticated, expensive and classy vibe. I hired an outside caterer and management worked beautifully with them. Payam also recommended the world's best DJ, who texted me before the party to make sure we were on the same page re: music. We did cocktails and food, followed by a two hour dance party. It was simply epic and I spent the whole of the next day fielding texts and emails and calls from people telling me about their fabulous time. Payam was lovely to work with. So every hour, the drinks go up a dollar until 11pm with the happy hour from 10-11pm are premium instead of well drinks. 5-6pm / $1 / 60's music 6-7pm / $2 / 70's music 7-8pm / $3 / 80's music 8-9pm / $4 / 90's music 9-10pm / $5 / 00's music 10-11pm / $6 / 10's music* The music isn't poppin' until later in the night, but worth going early just for the cheap drinks. This place is actually pretty cool. They play a lot of throwback songs from Latin to pop. The only thing that's an issue is that they will play the full song. At one point you get tired of the whole song playing, that's something that knocked a star down. Other than that people are chill. I've gone there twice on a Friday night and let me tell you it's full of drunk techies, but hey they're fun. One last thing, the venue is really nice. Super modern and elegant.
