Oracle Park has lots of places to grab a drink pre-game or after the fact or whenever in the area . The place I like to go to on the under is Alchemist Bar & Lounge. This place is a great and interesting venue to hangout . I was here because GearSet the British company was holding a happy hour with open bar and a food buffet. It was a treat to be inside the Alchemist because it's a little different from the surrounding bars in SOMA. You will see curated items throughout the venue. They have some interesting things inside .They had lots of wine , bourbon, and a mix of cocktails. They also had tasty fried chicken sliders and the honey truffle grilled cheese . The service was superb and the atmosphere was electric. A good place to get your drink on and off. Alchemist Bar & Lounge is a place a few blocks away from" Cal Train "on King street and it's a place for adults to "entertain" grab some wine from "Spain", and drink some "champagne" Go to the Alchemist Bar & Lounge and enjoy something "edible "with their "shareable" and the layout " is unforgettable and " Incredible "

Came here after a Giants game and it was hoping. Despite how busy they were, service was friendly and our old fashioneds were well made. No food, but the atmosphere and vibes were awesome with a mixed crowd of all ages.

Large, airy, and cozy place, we were upstairs watching everybody having fun below.

This is a fun bar conveniently located across from Oracle Park and a block away from the downtown SF Caltrain Station & Muni stops, so it's a definite place to visit for a beer or cocktail, with surprisingly good bar food and excellent service. Whether you're in town for a Giants or Warriors game, Christmas shopping, or a holiday bar crawl, it's the perfect destination to either begin or wrap up your night. First, it's a nice spot. Very spacious, with high ceilings and nice, alchemist/steampunk decor. Felt sort of rustic yet modern at the same time. Lots of tiny bar tables, mixed in with some cozy leather couches & intimate booths. It's clean. As you proceed upstairs from an otherwise semi-seedy, busy, and questionable 3rd/King Streets, you enter a relaxing world that feels more like the 1800's than 2025 tech-dom. Door guys are cool. Hostess was amazing, friendly & professional, and she really hustled, doing everything from seating us, to getting our orders, to running, and even bussing tables. A one-woman show, and she deserves a big raise, or who know, she might be the owner. Anyways, 5-starts to her. She sat us upstairs in a little loft space that offered a commanding view of the establishment, and its patrons having fun. Definitely a younger & local crowd, I was probably 25-30 older than everyone else here, but no matter, I felt like I fit in very well. It's a fun place, with brick walls, mirrors, good music, comfortable tables & couches, and a nice central bar. They even have dueling video projection screens playing old B&W cartoons on the wall for that mesmerizing eye entertainment. People come her to party, drink, and celebrate! We were hungry after a long night in the city, so our focus was more on food than drinking. Tried the spicy edamame, sautéed king oyster mushrooms, and Mac & Cheese egg rolls. The edamame & mushrooms were very good, flavorful, well-seasoned, and came in ample portions. A bit greasy, but perfect for soaking up all that alcohol you are about to imbibe. The mac & cheese egg rolls were a little disappointing, only got two of them, cut in half to 4 pieces, more breading, fried to heck making them nearly too hard & crunchy to taste anything, and very little mac & cheese in the middle. The honey sauce that accompanied them was overly sweet and not a good balance of tastes, the egg rolls tasted better without the sauce. But the food was good, it hit the spot, and the portions were pretty big for just being bar bites. Alchemy is open late, until 2am, like most bars. It serves good bar food at fair prices, and with big portions. Service was excellent, fast, professional, friendly, and fun. The SF-local younger crowd really come here to party as I saw most of the well-dressed crowd doing tequila & whiskey shots all night long. The list/offering here are pretty small & limited, but the cocktail & spirits list is more expanded & diverse. I just stuck to beer & cider to wash down my heavy but delicious bar food. I was impressed by everyone that works here, especially the multi-tasking hostess/waitress/server/runner. Door guys even fun & playful as we exited, no attitude or aggression, unlike most door guys & security. The Alchemist is a great bar to cap off your long night exploring & partying in the city, or a perfect place to start your fun night. Location, service, decor, quality of food & drinks, fair pricing, and friendly staff will have me coming back here next time thst I'm in town. One of the better unpretentious & fun & friendly bars that I've been to in downtown San Francisco. Had a great time here eating, drinking, people watching, relaxing, and mingling. Nice place!

Ambiance: it's located in Mission Bay Area, stylish decorated lounge room, good for large group hangout Service: very impatient and lack of professional knowledge, couldn't even make the cocktail drink taste right Food & Drink: lackluster choices on their menu Woodbury Burger - ** Double Beef Patties, American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles and Aioli, served on a Brioche Bun with Fries, not a place for burger Napoletana - *** Moleto Tomato Gin, Yellow Chartreuse, Benedictine, Honey, Passion Fruit, Thyme, Cirtus, fruity taste Vivid Dreams - * Pisco, Creme de Menthe, Ube Condensed Milk, Honey Ginger Syrup, Lime, weird combination and tasted awful Fieldwork Sour - ** canned beer, very sour taste Price: generally overpriced drinks let alone the poor quality, not worth $50+ per person

Nothing to complain about here. Nice quiet spot to get a drink before a game at Oracle Park. We made a reservation but we didn't need it. The drinks were good. Prices were a little high. Ambience was nice, a little spartan, but the brick is great and they're showing these weird movies on the walls which was cool. I think it's probably better at night than during the day. Servers were friendly. Bar snacks were good. This might be our new go to before games. Also, you can rent out the upstairs which would seat maybe 15 people at the most for a private party. Also, it looks like a reasonably good spot to rent out the whole space if they let you do it.

Came for drinks. Really well done. Loved the vibe and the drinks were great. Cool menu. Great service. Will come back for sure

The Christmas experience was immaculate. We came on a Friday night around 930 with reservations. The waiters were attentive and happily ready to provide recommendations. What blew me were the actual drinks. I was surprised with the ube drink and the popcorn drink as they were well balanced. I don't like to hype things up very often but my lordt this place was bangin

Was early to a nearby yelp event so I decided to grab a drink at of one the bars and found this little gem. I was loving the spooky decor and the vibes of this bar. That had tons of option for their cocktail & happy hour menu. They also had a variety of food that they sell here as well which I have yet to try. I ordered the Starstruck as it was part of the happy hour menu. The bartender was super nice and chatted with me a bit and made sure I enjoyed my drink. I really liked the overall atmosphere of this place and would stop by again!

Came here on a Saturday early evening to grab a quick drink. Located upstairs the cute lounge/bar was pretty huge with a nice vibe. I do wish they played better music with live DJ. You can self order via QR code or server can come and take your order. We ordered some appetizers but our drinks we're all so good. My favorite was my espresso martini and my husband also love whatver the bartender made him. Def a cool spot to grab a drink!!

A great place to kick it by the bar or lounge with a group of friends! Cocktails are unique and satisfying. Make reservations for a table just in case if you go on a Friday/Sat. Service is faster than the average and servers check-in with you. Overall good vibes and dark sinister decor. Projects animations are also fun to watch while drunk (lol). Will come again to try more drinks and food! Vivid Dream Cocktail - 3.5/5 - Well crafted and nice picture. Ube flavoring was mild while it had a more minty profile. Future Dystopia Cocktail - 5/5 - Thai tea flavor was there, reminded me of boba. I'd get this one again for sure. Fries with cheese & bacon - 5/5 - good quality fries, cheese, and bacon pieces. Smack!

The security at this bar was beyond rude--like rude. We arrived around midnight (as I'm writing this review), and the bar wasn't even full. My group included a tech developer, a nurse, and a professor--hardly the kind of crowd causing trouble. When we got to the entrance, my boyfriend was handing over his ID, but the security guard wasn't paying attention. My boyfriend stepped toward the door to look inside while the rest of us stood waiting. Suddenly, the guard looked at him and yelled, accusing him of trying to sneak in. Seriously? My boyfriend sarcastically responded, "Yeah, I'm trying to sneak in--I'm 45." Instead of realizing how ridiculous that was, the security actually had the nerve to reply, "How am I supposed to know that?" After handing over his card, my boyfriend was then threatened by the security guard, who said, "Be careful." Excuse me? It's 2025--we're on the brink of war, the economy is a mess, and people are choosing to spend their money going out instead of just ordering DoorDash and drinking at home. And this is how paying customers are treated? Are you crazy? Here's the reality: people don't have to go out anymore. If this is how your security behaves when the bar isn't even full, I can only imagine what happens when it is. I get it--maybe this guy has no power anywhere else in life and saw this as his moment. But he picked the wrong audience to flex on. I've been to bars where the security is really, really nice - The Felix in tenderloin is super nice and knows how to do his job and deliver customer service and all their bartenders are nice and when we went there it was full. Ask them to help train your security or hire theirs.

This is a cute place, when you walk in, go through a hallway and walk upstairs. My friends had some of the cocktails which were really good. I had the Old Rasputin Stout which was strong. There are a lot of loungy tables and chairs, perfect for a group setting, try to reserve if you can. Great large bar area too. We tried the calamari which were too dry in my opinion, super crunchy and not chewy at all. Would skip. Come here for the vibes if you're with a group of people.

Ask the Community - Alchemist Bar & Lounge

Do customers needs a reservation for happy hour drinks or are reservations for food only?

Hello there. I went there before a Giants game so we got there early, maybe around 5:30pm. It was super crowded. I did have a reservation and we were seated in the bar area at a cute corner table.

Is there a dress code? Looking to come here before a giants game

No dress code. Come join us before and after the game.

Hi, I have a small dog. Can I bring her in ? I already have a confirmed reservation with you!

Dogs are allowed outside at Alchemist Cocktail Garden. Otherwise service dogs are allowed inside Alchemist, but general pets are not allowed inside the lounge.

    Is it 21+ only?

    Yes

Are you currently offering happy hour? If so, what days/hours?

Currently happy hour is from 5 to 7pm on Mon to Fri. When the baseball season starts there is no happy hour on home game days

Do you have heaters in the outdoor seating area?

Yes we do. All tables have heaters

To reserve the top do i need a deposit?

No, when my friend reserved for us they did not need to provide a deposit.

Can I just go for cocktails? If yes, do I need reservations for a Wednesday night party of 2?

Yes you can just order cocktails. Parties of 2 can just walk in. If you would like a reservation, you can make one at alchemistsf.com

What kind of music do you guys play?

We play everything from old school, motown, swing, daytime disco, hip hop, dance, rock, R&B. Depends on who is picking the playlist that day.

What time does your happy hour start and end?

Our current happy hour is 3pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Good place for a birthday party? Do they reserve a space for a larger group? If so, how much does it cost?

Hi Nina. Alchemist is a wonderful place for a birthday celebration. Our expansive lounge area can accommodate groups large and small. One of the things we miss most during this time are all the wonderful people that celebrate with us. Our outdoor… Read more

Does this place have good mocktails?

We do. Come try one of our non-alcoholic cocktails or ask the bartender to make you a refreshing mocktail.

Is this a good place to take a date on a Thursday? Are you able to talk to each other without screaming?

Yes, Alchemist is a great place to take a date. We've had many first dates here that turned into marriages, and we've even attended those weddings. We've even had several proposals happen within our walls.

    Do they have an elevator?

Yes we do. It's for ada use only.

    Is there a dress code?

Nope, there is no dress code.

What food have they got here?

Currently our bar bites menu consists of things such as tater tots, garlic or spicy smokey fries, spinach artichoke dip, brussels sprouts, sirarcha deviled eggs, fish tacos, carnitas tacos, buffalo chicken nuggets, and baby back ribs.

    How is Alchemist on Thursdays?

Thursday is a great night to come out. Usually not super crowded but still lively. Can't go wrong with a Thursday.

There are two rooms, one in the front with a puzzle theme, and another in the back with a Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings) vibe. Staff was friendly and took time to explain the clever menu to us!

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good!
