Stayed at Loveland's Best Western Plus for a week and ordered take out twice from Monroe's. First order was really good, had the French Dip. Second time we splurged & ordered 2 of the Colorado Ribeyes. When you order a steak medium rare and you get it well done AND pay $29 it doesn't promote a lot of confidence in the kitchen staff! Had ordered the artichoke spinach dip that came with rock hard pita chips that could break concrete! No problem, we'll eat the celery & carrots that also came with it. NEGATIVE! Carrots were so dried out they were cracking, and the celery was rotted! So much for the appetizer! They offered to remake the steaks, comped the appetizer & offered us free dessert. Round 2...steaks were AGAIN cooked well done! This was a re-do so one would think extra effort would have been made...NOT! It was Saturday evening and by the time we had sat down to eat again it was 9:00. Called them back but they were already closed. Okay...so we'll take them back Sunday...NO CAN DO, closed on Sunday! Doesn't open until 4pm Monday. Husband takes them back for a REFUND this time only to be told "they've done all they can do" REALLY? I don't think you even came close! If you're going to charge people $29 for a steak THEN hire kitchen staff that knows how to cook them as the paying customer requests! There's a HUGE difference between MR & WD and if you can't cook it accordingly then you should not have steak on your menu!! Since you find yourself in the position of "doing all you can do" then you leave me no choice to "do all I can do" and that will be to dispute the charge with my financial institution! For a business that operates in the food industry, hospitality & customer service Monroe's needs a refresher course ASAP! Staff was pleasant but whoever made the decision to not do the right thing and refund the steaks that weren't edible after the second time & the steaks were brought back to you uneaten, then I'll do the honors of exercising my opinion on every social media platform I can. I just ordered over 100.00 in delivery from this joint, and they literally called me to charge me separately for extra ranch. A 25 cent charge. I tipped 15 dollars. If you can't let 25 cents of ranch go, you can't have my business. Enjoy my money Monroe lounge - you will never see it again. So the food showed up. Unfortunately, my 2 star review can longer be upheld. Cuban sandwich was dripping, the Loveland Philly was so salty it is literally inedible. Ranch ramekins after all of that we're only 1/2 full, and the breading on the chicken fried steak was so soggy it was easily piled up with a spoon next to the chicken. It ended up in the trash, and I had to make dinner because everyone was still hungry. Fries were actually pretty good. 1 star for good fries. read more

We went out for a night of karaoke with friends and were pleasantly surprised by the nice sound system and very professional karaoke host. The atmosphere was nice, yet relaxed--families were present at the beginning of the night near the end of the dinner, and later the lounge transitioned to a more classy night crowd scene. We like to dabble in sophistication, but when someone suggested we head over to Monroe's Lounge, in the Best Western Hotel we shuddered! Best Western has a bar? Or better yet- a lounge? But being professionals (and thirsty), we went for it one Saturday night and the place was packed! We quickly realized our notions were way off base and settled in for a great time. Atmosphere: The lighting in Monroe's is dim and inviting, with candles lit on every table, on shelves, as well as above the bar. When walking in we were impressed with the large half circle bar that creates a focal point. The lounge is small but cozy and still provides plenty of seating throughout. The crowd was mixed with out-of-towners who were staying at the hotel, a handful of locals and a few hardcore drinkers from a wedding party, but all age groups included. Service: Service was great considering the place was packed and there were two servers and a bartender. The staff definitely went out of their way to make sure everyone was well taken care of. Drinks: The bar is fully stocked and has a well-rounded selection of micros and domestics. The wine list was a nice compliment to the drink menu, which featured some classic drinks, as well as some originals. If you do go for their happy hour, they offer two for one drinks on beer, wine and cocktails. Food: Monroe's menu is impressive and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the chipotle chicken sandwich and the black and bleu burger during our visit and both were served on tasty brioche buns. read more

Friendly staff and good food for a decent price. Portions are huge. They delivered to our room which was nice. Would recommend it if you want a tasty meal but don't want to leave the hotel. Only downfall is their menu doesn't show any kid friendly options, which was confusing because they did in fact have a kids menu- it is something you have to ask for if you want small portions for the kiddos. Stopped here after a long drive From Jackson, WY, stayed at the Hotel very centrally located at I-25 and US 34. Was very tired and hungry and did not feel like searching Yelp for a place that would deliver food to hotel. The desk clerk suggested Monroe's, the place had plenty of seating with a good crowd. They had live music by a local singer very nice relaxing music. We were greeted by waitress Dana, with a warm welcome and a very friendly smile. This made the whole day a lot better. We had Fish and chips with there homemade kettle chips and a french dip sandwich with a bottle of wine. The prices were very cheep and the food was very good. We are so glad that we found this hidden gem. Great food! Friday night is 12oz prime rib cooked just the way you want it. I will admit that the reason i am not giving Monroe's 5 stars is because of their service. Not so great. But they make their own ranch dressing and everything is pretty much homemade and I absolutely DREAM about their veggie side dish. It is almost enough to make me forget that the service is sub-par. UPDATE: We have since decided to not come to this place anymore. They changed how they made the vegetables, the meat served was losing its quality and the service continued to fail. The meat we would order had so much fat that there was a pile of fat we'd have to cut off our serving that was almost equivelant to the amount of meat left on the plate. They screwed up so many times on our orders that the manager was comping us dessert every single time we would visit. We just got tired of all the screw ups. We are not hard to please but I believe that if I am paying for food then I should come the way I ordered it. We recommend that you skip this place if you're thinking of stopping by. read more

The best thing about a hotel besides the basic clean room and hot water is a bar...And if they have food even better. Monroes has by far better then average bar food. When there I usually have lamb. Its been made right most of the time. First time rare with mint, ok. Second time rare with nothing, yea!!! 3rd time well done with Either anise or sambuka. That time the kitchen manager came out to see what was wrong. Needless to say she knows what lamb should taste like and made it herself and it was perfect Patrons there just are not hotel guest but locals too, wait staff is friendly and prompt with both food and drink. The food was good. Philly Cheesesteak and bangers and mash. My parents ordered the prime rib, which is what brought us in on Friday. They were hopeful to have good prime rib based on reviews however it was overcooked as the focus of the staff was on the regulars they knew instead of pleasing new guests that they could've made into more regulars. We liked that it was quiet and kids not running all over the place. We could actually have a conversation instead of yelling over music and lots of noise. In my opinion this is one of the best kept secrets in the Loveland/Ft Collins area. My wife & I eat out a lot and we are always trying different places in this area. The amount of very good tasting for $9-12 per plate pricing is outstanding. We had the fish & chips and the alfredo which were excellent. The service was quick although it was Saturday night and not very busy. They had live music playing and it was very relaxing. Our waiters were quite comical and ensured every table was taken care of. We watched another table enjoy one of their bugers. It looked good. For being so close to the Centera Mall I can't believe more people don't drive across I-25 and try this place out. Absolute worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. Made reservations for our 9 year old daughter, my wife and I for 7pm on Valentine's Day. Showed up approximately 5-10 minutes early and we were seated immediately. And that ends our evening with this restaurant. 25 minutes later of sitting there and not even so much as getting eye contact from anybody working in the restaurant we decided to leave. The gentleman at the table next to us had to get up twice from his dinner to go get more drinks. Food here was very good. There were problems with the orders and the bill that have the potential to make you forget how good it was. We had three parties at one table. All three orders came out wrong. One person ordered chips and received fries, one couple had two orders of wings one BBQ and one Asian zing, both came out Asian zing. The waiter (one of two we had) said he would bring out a BBQ at no charge. One person ordered a bowl of soup and got a cup, one person ordered a house salad and got a chicken salad and the steak salad came out without the blue cheese. Then the checks were wrong, we gave the waiter the corrections (yes we were charged for the extra wings and every ticket had items from another's party on them) and he fixed the checks and brought them back still wrong. Waiting 45 mins to pay your bill due to their errors is unacceptable. But the food was good. read more

Actually, very surprise with great food and service. Mark, the restaurant manager, was very friendly, had lots of suggestions and shared his vision for the restaurant. We had their Friday night Prime Rib special which was excellent and enough to share for two. Mark later brought out the chef, very impressive, for a small hotel restaurant. We really liked him and he also shared his thoughts on the place. He was very personable, he complimented his workings with Mark and also had high regards for the owner. Honestly, my vision, a place that cares what people think, they are creative, a step above with their food and an overall spunk for wanting people to enjoy themselves and relax. I wasn't able to stay for entertainment, but will be back ,as I know it will an another sincerely good experience. Really a great place for anyone that wants good food and a place to relax. A real surprise and a place I can't wait to go back to. Seriously, stop by as you won't be disappointed.
