This is one of those places that if I could give them 0 stars, I would. What was supposed to be a late lunch with my 15-month-old turned out to be one of the most bizarre, rude, simply unprofessional, and condescending restaurant experiences of my life. We went in, and the hostess was just simply unresponsive and just made us wait by the stand for a while without acknowledging that we were there. For that reason, we saw an open table and went and sat down, and to our surprise, the same hostess actually brought us the menu. After a few minutes, the restaurant owner or possibly the manager walked up to me and, with the most rude and condescending attitude and tone, told us that we couldn't sit there and to leave the establishment. The fact that they saw a 15-month-old with me and didn't help from the beginning and then processed to kick me out like I was an idiot to them blew my mind. I left because if you are a mom and have a hungry toddler, it takes every ounce of you to not fight but to walk away and find another place to feed your child. I did call back shortly to speak with the manager, and he totally denied what happened and said he was simply informing me that the table was "reserved" and we couldn't sit there. Well, if it was reserved, was your hostess that clueless that she actually walked up to us and brought the menus and she couldn't come and say, "Sorry, can I move you somewhere else? We have a reservation for this specific table." Needless to say, I will never return to this place. read more

Great service here, our waters were always full. I ordered the salmon entree and I was happily surprised with how much salmon they give you! Very reasonable for the price. I didn't really like the curry sauce it came with though, it was better without it. My salmon came out very very pink (I'd say raw even), but they were very kind and accommodating in taking it back to cook it longer and it was much better when they brought it back. I've been to various Lazy Dogs 4-5 times over the years. It has usually been the place for when we can't settle on somewhere while in the suburbs. It fills the role--and our stomachs--well. Status post two hours at Scheel's, we were famished but happy to see the Lazy Dog on our way out. I busted a U turn. Time to eat. The good: Duck bacon wontons offered a unique take on bacon and on wontons, with a cherry sauce so good we asked for extra to take home. Loaded tots were my favorite overall, crispy outside, tasty and mushy inside, simply done without a buffet of ingredients that don't add to the tots. The kids' cheeseburger more than satisfied my hungry youngster. I appreciate any place that pours Juicy Bits. The average: French onion soup was stocked with loads of cheese, but not much better than canned. Fries defy expectation. Yes, they are fried, but these oddly shaped potato slivers were mostly untouched after the first bite for each of us. The not-so-good: Clear understaffing kept our server busy and mostly invisible. She had tables in another room. Lazy managers? I felt for her and tipped normally, despite long waits for routine stops at our table. This Lazy Dog has done better for us. The concept's solid and execution usually makes it work well. Just not today. In writing this review, I learned that this Lazy Dog is part of a two-restaurant group, not the nationwide chain. I had my dog with me so I had to find a patio where dogs are allowed. I was at Scheels and the Lazy Dog was nearby. They took great care of my dog with a water bowl and allowed me to order an unseasoned hamburger patty for him. I ordered the chili Relleno bowl and chips, guacamole and salsa. The bowl was very good and the chili was packed with tasty cheese. My friend ordered the steak salad and a margarita. She said some of the steak was too chewy but tasted good. Both of us agreed the guacamole was good but the salsa wasn't good at all. Our waiter was awesome and although we thought the prices were high we enjoyed our meal and our visit. We love this restaurant and the food is amazing. That being said we went last night for dinner and had some of the worst service we have had in years. The server started by not greeting us for over 25 mins. They were not busy in the dining room. We finally asked for a server and she came over and again no greeting just "what drinks do you want?" We ordered drinks and an appetizer and salads and dinner because we feared she might not come back. The food order was not correct and after fixing it our waitress appeared irritated and disappeared never to be seen again. We finally again after being done with our food for 30 mins had to ask for the bill and track down our waitress. We came in for a midday appetizer. Upon walking in, the hostess just stared at us. No greeting, nothing. There were no seats available in the bar area, plus we have a young baby, so we said we'd sit in the main dining area. The hostess walks with us, we say- we'll sit here. She says nothing, then brings us menus. Suddenly the "executive chef" aggressively walks up to our table and says "You were told you're not allowed to sit here. You can't be here. This section is closed." Firstly, we were never told anything by the mute hostess. Secondly, we were there with our young baby and the "chef" was being incredibly rude, treating us like we were going against some unspoken rules and causing trouble. As if we were coming off the street wanting a free meal or causing a riot. It was completely unacceptable to be treated like this when we did nothing wrong. I was so upset to be treated this way, especially when out with our baby, so I called back to speak to the manager, and again the chef doubled down on his behavior. No apology. Last I checked a hostess should speak and use their words and say "this section is closed," which also makes no sense when it was the only seating available. Definitely won't be coming back to any Lazy Dog restaurant. read more

Very disappointing! We have come to Lazy Dog more times than I can remember, with family, friends, or just us 2. I know things are tough in the restaurant business. Prices keep going up everywhere. But when you charge as much as you do for the delicious 4 wontons (which used to be 5 wontons) and the 5 or 8 ounce glass of wine for the same old price (which used to be 6 or 9 ounces) and the tiny unfilled cup ( which used to be a full crock/bowl) of French onion soup, it indicates to us you are skimping on the food and drinks for more money. Also saw 2 couples compare the amount of beer that was poured into their glasses - skimped on the last 3/4 inch. We are so disappointed and are crossing the Lazy Dog off our restaurant list. Just can't recommend a place who skimps and overcharges for an average service bar. It used to be really great! Loved meeting people there but just can't anymore. read more

I have been to other "Lazy Dog's" and had good food and service, especially the Westminister location. I was happy to find this one closer to me in Johnstown. We were there at noon on 1/17/26. Lots of snow falling and not a lot of patrons. We were in the bar area eating brunch, watching the Avalanche game, waiting for the Broncos to start. It took forever for the server to take a drink order and to bring our drinks. She came back a good 30+ min to finally get the brunch order. The food was just ok, wasn't served hot. For the most part she stood around doing nothing but chatting to someone. I had to go ask the bartender to place a food order before she came to take the food order. We didn't get an opportunity for another drink because she failed to return again. My drink order was a simple shot over ice. Not brain surgery but it took so long to get it that my partner drank his and had to also wait to order another. I always over tip but she got 20% and I feel that was far too much. Also skip the apple crepes. You get one crepe that has a big spoonful of chopped apple out of a can. read more

A table nearby had a chipped water glass. My meat was good but my husband got the chicken sandwich and said it was tasteless. I'm not much of a review writer but I had to write this one! We came in last night and left around 7:30pm. We had the most amazing food and the most amazing server. I couldn't remember her name so I called to ask and the hostess let me know it was Marleene. She was so kind, personable, and attentive. It is not super often that I leave a restaurant and go "that was so incredibly worth every penny I spent" but we very much LOVED everything. The brussel sprouts were somehow maybe one of the best things I've eaten in a hot minute. So also credit to whoever was cooking last night! My wife and I went to Lazy Dog because some friends of ours sent us a gift card to the restaurant for lunch on Wed. the 30th of Dec. We attempted to use the gift card and our server said that the gift card wasn't any good that it was for another Lazy Dog company. The gift card has a Bison / Buffalo on the card. I asked to speak to the manager about this and told me the same thing. Upon returning home we entered the company name that was on the gift card and it showed us the locations of the restaurants that this card was accepted at, and guess what, yes you guessed it the location we were at should have taken the card. On top of this the manager who came out to talk to us was rude to both my wife and I about it. Now we have to travel over 40 miles to use our card since we will NEVER step foot in this Lazy Dog Location agian. read more

All I can say is I think we've found a hidden gem of a brunch place. My wife and make it our mission to help support restaurants and small businesses during the COVID times. Restaurants that make the extra effort to do their best to abide by the guidelines to provide for us is a big deal. On my birthday my wife surprises me by taking me here thinking it was a part of "The Lazy Dog" chain since she had a coupon , well they aren't and although I like the other guys, this place we found to be pretty awesome. I always look at the Yelp reviews and that's what makes Yelp so great. I get to share our experience with you and if the restaurant has stepped up their game you get to know about it. We caught the brunch menu right in the last couple of minutes. I will stand by my statement our server was awesome, both professional and personal and knows and does his job better than most. The food was incredible! Seriously 5 star visit!! The Brussels with Pork Belly app was the best we've ever tasted. My wife rarely curses and she said these are "f'..n" good, I've never heard he say that about food. She order the pork shoulder Benny and no joke there's enough food for 2 and not exaggerating. I'm a biscuits and gravy connoisseur so that's what I ordered, but I didn't read the description and when it came out I was disappointed, because to a midwestern dude only milk gravy is recognized as gravy and only kind that acceptable on biscuits for sure. My husband and I came here for date night. Our server was super attentive. Atmosphere was chill, dim lit but colorful inviting vibe. The cocktails are incredible. I had the Yube martini this time. It's beautifully purple and tastes like a bubbly coconut cloud with a hint of champagne. The fries here are addictive. They're fat and spiraled and dusted with parmesian. They're literally the best fries I've ever eaten anywhere. The sandwiches here are all perfection and served on brioche buns. This is our new favorite date spot. This place is pretty good. The inside is your typical chain bar and grill which I don't mind. We went for lunch on a Friday and it wasn't very busy. We got really good service from our waitress as she kept checking on us and making sure our drinks were full. I had the poutine which was just awesome and I can't stop thinking about it. It was a pile of their own style fries, cheese curds, some awesome beef almost like roast beef, topped with brown gravy. The gravy had great flavor and the beef was nice and tender. Was just there on Monday September 9th. I left a $20 cash tip on a bill of $76.62. I correctly filled out the merchant copy of the receipt stating tip was cash in the "custom tip" portion of bill. I then wrote the total as $76.62 and handed the waitress a 20 dollar bill. I was checking my credit card statement today and see that I was charged $96.62 which means she added an extra $20 and got a $40 tip. We got here as soon as they opened, which also meant we got great service overall. We went seated promptly, which is no surprise since we were the 2nd customers to arrive. When they came they were crispy and the cherry Jam that came with them gave the wontons a nice sweet taste. It wasn't overwhelming at all. I ordered the Sweet N Spicy burger cooked medium with fries. And husband ordered Pork Belly Mac N Cheese with green chili. He said he would order it again. I have to admit that their green chili was very good. My burger was cooked well, and unlike other posters who said the bun was soggy; mine wasn't at all. Maybe it's because he had no other tables?? I did though accidently get a couple pieces of the pork belly that was very good. The fries were crispy and different. Meaning they were more curled fries. Not curly fries or straight fries, but like they got twisted in the cutter. Cons: They do not accept the Lazy Dog gift cards. Be aware of that. This place is definitely more upscale than the other Lazy Dog's. It's kind of laid back, but the atmosphere is totally different. The decor is more modern. My burger, though good didn't have any spice to it. A lot more on the sweet side. I wasn't fond of the jalapeño preserve. Probably wouldn't order it again. Also this place was very pricey for what we ordered. Recommended? Yes, only if your looking for an upscale version of Lazy Dog and ok with them not accepting gift cards. A friend from work and I stopped in on our way to Wyoming for some lunch to break up the drive a bit and take the chance to chill a bit before diving headfirst into the work ahead. I want to say we stopped in around 1:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon(this review is long overdue lol), and the dining area was pretty empty. We were greeted immediately after we walked in and led upstairs to their second dining/bar area to a two top right by the door to the stairs. A friendly young lady walked right over to say hello and started us off with a couple glasses of water. She gave us a couple moments to decide on drinks, and being the naughty people we are, ordered a couple lunch beers to kick off the day lol. We were both pretty ravenous at this point in the day, so it didn't take long to decide what we were going to eat. My friend started off with the chips and queso, and ordered the club sandwich and a crock of french onion soup to settle her growling belly. I decided to go with their wild mushroom flatbread pizza and added a side salad to get in some greens. We sat back after the waitress took our menus and proceeded to waste away some time chatting about life. Easy peasy. The appetizer came out pretty quickly, and it looked yummy! The cheese was steaming, the chips were warm, and our eyes were gigantic with wonder. First bites were not as impressive as the dish looked, though, unfortunately. My friend mentioned that the queso wasn't too flavorful and reminded her of the old school cheap velveeta nacho cheese. I was somewhat indifferent to the dish, but did agree that the queso didn't seem super fresh or homemade. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it, either. It just wasn't something I think I'd eat an entire plate of, let alone order again. The chips were pretty decent, though! Lightly salted and crispy. While we munched on the appetizer, chatted away, and sipped on drinks, it seemed like our food came out lightning fast. Everything looked BOMB at first glance. The soup was steaming, the flatbread looked nice and hot, my salad looked refreshing and crisp, and my friend's club sandwich looked piled high with fresh ingredients. My friend enjoyed her soup and said it had been seasoned well and had all the right bits and pieces a French onion soup should have, but she wasn't too keen on her club; she said that the ratio of meat to greens wasn't impressive, and the bread was tough and tasted a bit stale. My flatbread was decent, albeit not as warm as I'd expected it to be. The flavor was pretty good, but it would have been much better if it were hot. The salad, though, left much to be desired. It was ALL arugula, and had a more intense flavor than I'd hoped for. The veggies with the salad also left me a bit disappointed, as the amount served with the greens did not balance well when the salad was mixed. I'm glad I got some extra vitamins from if, but I wasn't really impressed, unfortunately. Overall, service was good (regardless of the fact we were the only table in our section at the time), drinks were good, and food was just okay. I've never been a huge fan of chain restaurants, but I'd expect more consistency between each location, so it was a bummer that this wasn't super great. Burgers overdone, Brussels sprouts portion size is that of a fruit cup and they want $13. Menu says corn nachos and they were wheat tortillas, and my gluten intolerance is now flaring up. Visited on a Sunday where they have Brunch but also allow ordering from main menu (good for us since we aren't much for brunch). We started off with avocado toast (hippy toast as the waiter/bar tender jokingly called it. A very unique variant of it where it had tomato, mozzarella pearls, and a drizzle of balsamic. Entrees were: Macaroni and cheese - a very cheesey layer since this is a baked version. The Shed burger with fries - the pablano is nicely roasted along with a tasty topping of short rib meat. The fries are not standard and definitely recommend getting them. The BAAT burger with Cole slaw - burger was cooked nicely and a good combination of toppings, slaw was good with an unexpected item of dried cranberries but fries where stolen by this person. For dessert we had the strawberry cake which was moist and a lighter dessert to have. Service was good, the waiter was friendly and was attentive until he was handed a party of 8 in addition to the tables that he was handling already. I don't blame him, just a bit of a challenge with current staffing in restaurants. Will be back to try other options in the future. read more

Lazy Dog is a fantastic American Casual Dining Restaurant. Their menu is exquisite, everything on there is made freshly to order. The service is awesome. We've been there twice now and we loved it each time. They have a nice beer selection, as well as wine and cocktail list. We tried their Holy Shishito Peppers, which was unbelievable good. The Lazy Dog Chicken Sandwich was fabulous. We also tried their Brussel Sprouts which was freshly and delicately prepared with Pork Belly. We did the Shed burger, which was amazing. It was done just right. Its easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. We also got the Hipster Toast, which was nice, but not a lot of food for what you pay. The Gatherer Salad with Blackened Chicken was OK. I wouldn't get it again. The challenge with keeping such a large menu is always to keep the standard of food the same, and Lazy Dog excels at it. Tip: This is not part of the Lazy Dog chain you can find in Boulder, etc. They are a locally owned business, which is even more fantastic. read more
