I will say that place was actually a gem! Very impressed with the bar and the drinks.. Had their version of an old fashion called shadow woman ... for sure loved it!!! But I love how quaint the bar was with endless amounts of whiskey bottles from all around the world!! The bartender was awesome! Very descriptive and you can see he enjoyed what he does !! I'm coming back for sure !!!

Great interior space with TV for slideshow that we used and sound system to play your own playlist!

This place is great to have a party at! We needed a great venue for a 20th high school reunion and the Jasmine bar delivered for our 50 or so guests. Lauren and the other event staff worked with us to create 2 custom cocktails for our event, the food was DELICIOUS and presented so beautifully with a charcuterie board spread and pizzas. Everyone loved the flow of the space, selection of alcohol available for tastings. HIGHLY recommend it for date night, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, anything. It's a tucked away place that is still right in the middle of everything that downtown Louisville has to offer!

The chocolate dessert board is such a simple yet elegant dessert, and the chocolates were so delicious!

I really wanted to love my experience here, but unfortunately it was quite a letdown. Let me start by saying that they did a great job with this remodel. It's tucked back down the alley between Bittersweet Cafe and B.O.B.S. Diner. They have a variety of seating to choose from: casual tables & couches outside and several tables inside with a large screen tv that had the football game playing right next to a cornerside fireplace. We made a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday in September and there were only a few other people there on the ground floor and a small party upstairs in their private room. They also have a nice "cigar lounge" right beyond the fireplace that's also available for parties. We sat at 6:10, ordered around 6:20 and didn't receive our 3 cocktails until 7:02. I couldn't believe it. The host/server was sweet and said that the drinks would be coming soon, but as we sat and waited and waited and waited nothing happened. We almost considered just leaving. They give truffle popcorn complimentary which is a nice touch and was flavorful, but waiting 40 mins for a drink is wild. The drinks were fine - Manhattan was good, Jasmine Old Fashioned with Gin was nice if you like citrus (although I didn't think it was worth $22), and the THE DEAD RABBIT COFFEE COCKTAIL was so bland. All you tasted was the egg white. It was like drinking a cloud. The ambiance overall was nice, but the music playing was a bit odd and kind of put our group into a sleepy trance as we waited and waited for our cocktails. The bar area is nice, but just having one bathroom is a little strange. I always want local businesses to thrive and do well so I truly hope this isn't the norm and maybe we came at an off day, but I'd be hesitant to return based on this experience.

Stumbled upon this gem quite by accident. It's tucked away in a corner of downtown Louisville. The ambiance is great- there are several different seating areas to choose from, depending on whether you want a more speakeasy, intimate vibe (the bar), a classy lounge, or laid back with possible live music (patio). All of them are great, depending on what it is you are going for. The drinks are amazing as well. A little on the pricey side, but they're worth it if you enjoy a well-balanced craft cocktail. We also had the chocolate truffles as a late night dessert, and thoroughly enjoyed them. This will now be one of our favorite date night spots.

I went to the Jasmine bar with a few friends to try their cocktails, and we all loved absolutely everything about this place. First, the atmosphere: they did a great job with the remodel. The bar area is nice, there are plenty of tables with a fire place, and there's an area in the back with comfortable chairs and low tables. A small loft upstairs with sofas feels very cosy. The vibe is inviting, warm and pleasant, with a mix of old and contemporary touches; it's simply beautiful! The service was impeccable, our waiter kept checking on us. The food menu is limited to charcuterie or cheese boards, olives and nuts. We found the nuts tasty and perfect for snacking while enjoying our drinks. We felt so comfortable there that we ended up staying longer than planned and tried a few cocktails. The selection is impressive, and all the ones we tasted were delicious and beautifully presented in pretty glasses. I started with the Jasmine Martini which was lovely, with a couple of elderflower buds floating on the drink and a little branch of thyme attached to the rim. We all had a great time, everything was perfect. As I got home, I was already thinking of when I'd go back - hopefully very soon!

(There is also inside seating but we didn't try that). The cocktails are very tasty. I tried "Sex on the Snow" and I loved it. This cocktail is based on Gin with infused lavender and lemon juice. They also served some food. My kids had nachos and I had the German Style brats. My brat was served with pickled red onion and whole grain mustard. It was really good. They had a small row where they could fit some tables inside. My friend at I were sat directly next to the air conditioning machine. The tables were wobbly, there was water spilling from the pitcher, basically the whole time, and we were never offered napkins. Overall the theme was good, but I wanted to see more of the restaurant. The decorations were a little shotty and at one point someone stood on the bar to plug in the lights. There was a sandpit outside where the band was playing and swinging chairs at the bar. The first drinks that I got- the one in the coconut- was basically an expensive cup of ice. There was VERY little drink in here. After about two sips, it tasted like sweet ice water. I also ordered the pain killer which was delicious! We had a very friendly, but overall inattentive waiter. Again, we were shoved in the back corner so perhaps that's why.

Last year, the bartender basically poured us like 3/4 drinks for free after our time. This year was much of the same. You make reservations for a time, it's like $5 each and you get a nice table. However, the website doesn't allow for single reservations. If you go in nice as a single, on a quieter night, you can usually grab a table if one is left inside. Or, they have a ton of (chilly) outdoor seating. The whole place is decorated to hell; it's pretty awesome for small town living outside Boulder. There's plenty of pictures to be had. The glassware is amazing too, lots of designs great for the photo. One hiccup- you're paying for the glitz. It's $8/shot and $16 for each drink. But, they're tasty and generally get the job done. Let me just say as well, the guys working tonight were beyond awesome. Two of them were working both the bar and front of house, and basically just going non stop for hours. Good for them. Both were costumed and very! friendly and didn't show any signs of frustrations. The eggnog shot is awesome, smooth and sweet and gets you going. I've had the Cricket (green minty drink), the Elf-int Around, a mulled wine type cocktail, and the Jingle Balls Nog. Each was great in its own way. I think if you stick to these three, it won't be too crazy. They have almost a dozen options-you pay for it, but to be honest, it's fun to spend a little extra on some holiday cheer!

On a Wednesday night recently, with a few friends, we decided to try Miracle on Main, the pop-up…read morebehind Bittersweet. The place looks festive, all decorated for the Holidays with thousands of lights, candy canes, trees and reindeers. There are individual heated greenhouses, and plenty of tables under two big tents. The atmosphere is over the top kitschy and fun. Since we were a group of 10, the greenhouses were too small so we were seated under one of the tents. We had made reservations (there is a mandatory $5 fee going to a local charity) and were ready for the cold, with coats and blankets, just in case. We were surprised that it was far from full, we actually were the only ones parked under the big tent, just a few greenhouses were occupied. We enjoyed the cocktails, not cheap at $14 each but tasty an strong, all made specially for the season with flavors such as nutmeg, marshmallow, vanilla... The menu is limited, focused on cocktails with a few wines and beer, a couple snacks. I had the Christmapolitan (with vodka, elderflower, vermouth, spiced cranberry sauce, lime, rosemary and absinthe mist) yummy! The popcorn was disappointing though, it came in a bag (like the ones you pop in the microwave, except the package was more like Holiday wrapping paper). It definitively was not fresh, tasted a little stale. After a while, despite our coats we were getting really cold and asked our waiter if he could switch on the fireplace next to us. Too bad, we were told that it's for show, the regulations don't allow them to use it. There was no heat under that big tent and it was getting chilly. Overall, that night, despite the decorations, our group felt a little lost under that huge tent. I bet it feels totally different when it's packed, but during the week it was a little dead. There is a 20% discount for groups that they forgot about. When we asked about it, it became impossible to get checks separate per couple. Supposedly the system is not set up for it. When we left, our impression was that when you include the mandatory $5 reservation fee, it's adds up to an expensive drink that's not really worth it. And we were cold! Once again, it might be a very different experience during weekends. If you want to get a souvenir, no worries, it's all setup for it, you can buy glassware and gifts. This was not my idea of a fun evening, and I don't think I'll go back.

After sitting down, about 10 minutes went by without anyone acknowledging me. I eventually had to wave someone down just to ask if I could get a drink, and the response was that they hadn't seen me there. Later, when my drink was empty, I had to wave someone down again to order another. When my friend and I decided we wanted appetizers, we once again had to flag someone down to place the order. This was on a Tuesday night and there were only about 6-7 people sitting at the bar, which is a pretty slow night for them. To be fair, once we did receive our drinks and appetizers, everything was excellent as usual. However, the service throughout the night felt inattentive. I stayed from about 6 PM until 8:15 PM, so it wasn't a quick stop, it was a full evening, and the lack of attentiveness stood out. The roasted beets with pomegranate molasses were fresh, tangy, and perfectly balanced. And the charred beef tagliata? Chef's kiss. Cocktails were just as impressive. It's actually quite easy to miss with Teocalli having way more business just one street down. It's got a lovely interior with lots of wood and a nice rooftop patio. Walking in, I wouldn't think much of it. The menu is relatively simple with some appetizers, salads, hot dogs, sandwiches, and some other things. Where this place shines is their bacon, and by extension their sandwiches. Multiple people I've gone with have said the JGBLT is the best sandwich they've ever had. It's certainly up there for me, just behind panino I've had in Italy. It's nothing complicated, but each part of the sandwich is so well done that the finished product is understated and overwhelming. So good. It's also the perfect portion, every time. It doesn't seem to matter how hungry I am when I come in. They have an excellent beer list with lots of things to choose from. The whiskey menu is absolutely insane, and the whiskey flights are necessary to digest it. A small thing that is really nice- their sodas. It's not just coca cola or Pepsi products- they have craft sodas, which are really excellent. Additionally, you can get their non alcoholic cocktails for the same price as just a soda, which is lovely. The daily specials are always fantastic and a good way to get something unexpected. I will be extremely sad when I have to move from Lafayette, as this restaurant is one of my favorites in the world.
