Spent a couple of days celebrating Valentine's Day and skiing with my bride. A smallish mountain but with very varied conditions. We skied all terrain. Conditions were partly sunny on day one and a snowstorm day two. We enjoyed the skiing. Not much on offer in the way of amenities. They did have a pub with some local beers. We spent Halloween at the resort. There was a special event for Halloween, Reaper's Revenge Halloween Costume Party, and had such a blast! The music was great. The decorations were so real! There were photo activities. There was a $5,000 costume contest. You can buy non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks at very reasonable prices. There was also pizza for sale. And the people attending the party were very chill. On a skiing note, we visited the resort and skied last winter. It was very nice, but a good hike to the lifts. Very affordable at $40 for lifts and rentals from Mondays to Wednesdays. read more

The Mon-Wed $40 including equipment rental is one of the best deals, and arguably the single best deal, available in the Pocono area. The trails are wide. The lifts are newer with most being quad lifts that move at a brisk pace. The parking lot is a huge opportunity for this resort. First, the surface is rocks and dirt and can get extremely muddy if the conditions are right, which happens to be most of the winter. Also, the parking lot is quite far from the lodge and lifts. The lot is also at higher ground so there is a fairly lengthy walk and stairs involved just to get from the car to the lodge. There are portable toilets in the lot area which isn't great but better than nothing. The skiing itself is fun. Plus, the town of Scranton is nearby so staying overnight allows one to enjoy restaurants and bars. read more

I went to a concert there last week. Let me start this by saying you can buy a BOTTLE of Jim Beam in the store for $13. They tried charging me...for a Jim Beam (single shot) and coke....$24.15. The "VIP" section could barely see the stage and was about 100 yards away. Will never go back read more

A great mountain in the poconos. This resort has long runs compared to most places in the poconos. They also have flood lights so you can ski until 9pm for an additional $10, it's a great deal. The slopes here are more advance compared to jack frost. Montage only has 1 bunny hill. Their 3 greens are probably 2.5x as long and steeper than jack frost's. We go skiing every year different resorts and I need to say it was the best experience I have had. Kids went to ski school and the instructor was great and very friendly. Thank God for this place because they make their own snow and the snow machines are going on all day. We went snow tubing and found the experience very pleasant. When you go into the resort, there is a restaurant if you want to grab a bite and plenty of seating area . Outdoors from the resort there are fire pits to warm up in between trips. The staff at the top of the snow tubing lanes are so helpful and they're cheery and always ready to help. The bathrooms are very clean. Very well organized and the staff is so nice. Would definitely come back to this place. I don't ski but the slopes look amazing and next time would want to try a go at it. read more

It's decent skiing for the location. $40 fixed price lift tix can either be a blessing or a curse depending on when you go. I love a classic fixed grip lift, but this mountain could really benefit from a detach lift (replacing Iron Horse?). Just returned from a trip to Montage. Overall, it was pretty fun by the end of it but would not recommend. Good diversity of trails, especially double blacks for experts and advanced. Trails were very icy up top and very much a hit or miss. Lifts were old and very slow. No lift ticket scan system like many other resorts now. Getting rentals was a mess, no tablet system you have to write down everything on a piece of paper and hand it to them. Had to wait about 40 min. What doesn't make sense to me is that they don't sell tickets by time slot or day, but time frame, meaning there could be a flood of traffic and they can potentially run out of ski or snowboard rentals. WATCH OUT. My friend needed a helmet and apparently he got "the last one." Not sure how that works when you run a business like this. Not the worst mountain if you're trying in a few good runs, but recommend you head on over to Blue Mountain Resort instead! Montage offers more stressful experience. read more

We snob tubed on a exceptionally warm day right before the pandemic and I can't wait to return. With so many odds against us we still had a blast. The children ranging in ages from 3,5 and 7 all had fun snow tubing and playing arcade games in the lodge. Our first visit was on a Groupon but I will return regardless on the deal being on or off this year. read more

Mountains are great, and most of the workers in the rental area are amazing, except for 2 girls that were helping my friends out with new skiis. My friend had to get new skiis because she was given skiis too short for her and they didn't give her the proper size of 140 and were very bad and stubborn, claiming that it would be a bad look if we got hurt, after telling her we are intermediates and have been skiing since we were little. read more

We visited the snow tube section for the first time and this place in general for the first time over the weekend. I wouldn't suggest this for anyone who has trouble walking or getting around the steep walk up to the snow tubing is not disability friendly, so if you are with family who wants to watch their loved ones Slide down on the mountain they won't be able to because we were told that unless you are skiing you cannot use the lift that takes you directly to the snow tube section. We went to one in Ellicottville New York, and it seems like that is where we will stay going . read more

The slopes were very icy with too many people for comfort when the conditions are that bad. No kiddie slope so I was constantly worried about hitting the many toddlers. No lock for your items so you just have to trust no one is going to steal your stuff. Was charged for a helmet I couldn't even fit (they only had xsmall but still charged me). When I brought it up to customer service one said "We dont do refunds." But the other one was very helpful and ran a refund for me. Ive found that most of their staff was helpful and just exuded positivity! However black people and asians beware... not of Montage but the people that go are disturbing. This is a ski resort but it's also a water park in the summer and a home of the festival called peach. So last year was our first time since the festival called vibes ended. My friend and basically sister flew in from Cali. I thought cool! Listen to music while going on water rides! Well we bought VIP parking ... you must be VIP to actually have travel up the mountain. So we had to drag everything up! Argggggg... and It rained the whole time! Almost the entire time! So bring rain boots :) The park is fun. My favorite was the zip lining and lazy river. The wave pool was great because it's right next to the one stage. That was fun! They also are dog friendly and have an area where the dogs have there own park. They are allowed pretty much everywhere but to have a small playground is cool. They also have a kid pool. Overall the mountain is great and scenic! I'll have to check it out this winter! read more

DO NOT GET RENTALS AT THE MOUNTAIN! They are old used and broken down for $45 on a holiday weekend for the full day. Get Rentals elsewhere and parking is a very far walk. The automated locker system didn't even work so you were forced to walk all the way back to your car or leave your items out in the open. read more

Came here for snowtubing with a groupon for 3. It was much cheaper to catch it through groupon than buying it at their ticketing booth. Snowtubing starts at 4pm+. Parking: lots of space, I did come on a weekday when kids we're on their school breaks but it wasn't overly packed. Experience: Guest booth gave us a lot of information as first timers and where things were. The staff here seemed to be young folks, but they we're nice and supportive. They do have a dining area and gaming arcade section but we didn't partake in that. The snowtubing section was a walk up from the skii lift and they had their own area just for it. Setup was nice and easy to manage. They did plow the snow again around 6:30pm to soften the snow so that it wasn't too slippery for the kids. Overall definitely would come back. read more

If NO STARS was an option would use... This is THE WORST resort. I don't even know how they stay open with the safety concerns and cleanliness of facilities. My daughter was on a ski trip and the lift broke. They had no Manuel override!! Was up on the lift for over two hours. Had to belay her and other guests down with ropes. She was terrified. Have called numerous times to try to get these students money back. No response or call back after calling over five times. That night They said can come back for free but none of them would visit this mountain again. read more

My friends and I (group of 5) decided to come here after hearing about their $30 ski for all deal. With this deal, you can ski or snowboard on any non-holiday Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. It includes a free group lesson and rental equipment, except for rental helmets ($15). Lockers here are $15 (does not accept cash), but a lot of people just put their stuff on top of lockers, under benches, etc. It was a pretty great deal, especially since most of my group has never been snowboarding. We ended up spending most of our time on the beginner hill and the intermediate hill. The great thing about this deal is that it's for the weekdays, when there's a lot less people, again making it perfect for those who are new. I would definitely recommend wearing lighter layers (especially if you plan on skiing or snowboarding all day), bringing water and storing it in a locker (you will get dehydrated), and renting a helmet if it's your first time (especially if you're a klutz like myself). It does get busier throughout the day, so I'd recommend coming early! They also do daily snow reports and trail condition reports on their website. I'm excited to come back and hopefully get better. read more

Don't waste your hard earned holiday time and money! We traveled to Montage for snow tubing, purchased our tickets in advance, and still waited in a line for 90 minutes. Then off to the tubing slope- lost 45 minutes of our 2 hour pass. Line on the tubing slope- 1 hour to get a tube. Customer service and the supervisor couldn't refund our money without the OK from "their senior management". We had never been to Montage and will never be back. read more

Not a good experience. Went about a week into New Years. Found it very difficult to get to the parking lot. Getting off the turnpike, a sign for Montage Mtn misleadingly detours you through a bunch of strip malls with restaurants, movies, and shops. Past that, the first sign you see has the Montage Mtn logo on it and looks promising but it is actually a facilities access point, not for customers. Eventually found the unmarked "official" parking lot. Mountain conditions were without a doubt HAZARDOUS. Checked website beforehand and it was very misleading. Slopes were extremely narrow and had rocks, mud, and ice because so little snow. Snow makers were on full blast on the "open" slopes + heavy wind gusts. The combo is a painful and unsafe experience. Stings your face and freezes and blinds goggles. My partner was a good sport about the whole thing, but it was a very avoidable waste of a day and put us in unnecessary danger. I'm lucky the only thing I lost that day was the college price of $25 per person. read more

Extremely disappointed in montage mountain system. I have never been to a place so cheap. On their website it allows you to buy a $10 ticket for the water park so we bought one but when we got here they said $10 day was yesterday and they cannot honor it. I pulled up the website and showed them it allows you to purchase a $10 ticket for any day and they said that's a glitch in the system but they will not allow us to use the $10 ticket and we have to buy a full price one. We were in PA visiting family and they have season tickets.. small park but lots of fun. The main food court could use some work, we go there early and they were preparing food but we noticed the days before pizza and sandwiches to re sell which i thought was gross. This review will be hard for me to do, so bear with me. Our cabin is situated 10 minutes from Elk, so in my mind, for PA skiing, Elk is the gold standard, and it would be asinine for me to drive anywhere else, especially after driving upstate from Lancaster. However, as my beloved Elk has blackout dates where they do not honor the PA Ski Passport for 4th/5th graders (SHAME ON YOU), we looked to take our family elsewhere while staying over New Years, and Montage turned out to be an incredible value... as in, if we had done what we did at Montage, it would have cost an additional $230 to ski the day at Elk. And that, my friends, is nothing to sneeze at, and is worth the consideration of driving the 35 minutes from Elk to ski Montage more frequently. Talking points? Here we go! The Good: 1. Parking: Actually close to the ticket window and lodge. No shuttles, no bridges. Unfortunately, 4 flights of stairs...but overall, nicely close. 2. Prices: We purchased our tickets online through Ski PA Association website for $38 for adults, $21 for one of our sons. Ticket was good from 9 AM-10 PM. That's some serious skiing at a great price...about $3.50 per hour! Son #2 was free, and son #3- first time skiing- $85 for rental, ticket, and a 2-hour lesson...Elk would have been $180. We added on another afternoon group lesson for $40. Not bad. 3. Ski School: Good facilities. Rentals for ski school kids are in the ski school building, which is nice. The beginner area has its own magic carpet conveyer belt, and has good security for checking kids in/out. Instructors were informative, funny, and patient. Unfortunately, 7 kids in a beginners group was a bit much, but no avoiding that one. 4. Lodge: Nice layout. 48 picnic tables in the dining area, bathrooms near entrances for those of us in ski boots, plenty of food offerings, and a nice-looking bar/restaurant with a commanding view of the mountain. A cool wrap-around deck with multiple fire-pits allow you to enjoy the view without completely freezing. 5. Trails: A wide variety of trails kept our sons entertained today. Boys liked the terrain park, older son tried the diamonds, and I enjoyed watching him completely humbled by the double-diamond run with moguls. Gotta keep those pre-teens in a state of humility every so often! The Bad: 1. Snow. Mother nature hasn't been kind to PA skiing, and Montage is behind the curve this year. Lots of unopened trails meant that all the skiers were condensed and the snow-cats were trying to level out two more trails during the day. 2. Bathrooms: That faux-whitish wood vinyl flooring doesn't do well with wet ski on the three longer beginner/intermediate trails. Our day at Elk two days prior revealed the same percentage open, but square foot-for-foot of made snow, Elk is bigger and has produced much more snow. The cannons were firing, however, boots. Poor choice of flooring. My ego can accept falling on an unavoidable sheet of ice lurking below a massive jump...but on a bathroom floor? No way. The UGLY: 1. WATER. There is no place to access drinking water in this establishment. Nothing, unless you want to stick your head under a faucet in the bathroom. We brought in our own lunches, and when I went into the food court to get a few glasses of water, none of the fountain sodas had the "water" tab, and when I asked the cashier, she wanted to sell me four paper cups at $.50 apiece...yes, to fill in the bathrooms. "PSSSHHHHHH", says I, and storm off. My wife, tired of hearing the kids moan for water, goes and buys two Aquafinas and a Brisk tea for $8. PSSHH. Thievery. Unheard of. What is this, Guantanamo? Give the people water, say I. Set my people free! The Verdict: Tough call. For nearly $230 less, I have to think long and hard, though the decision might be clearer and more logical than I want to admit. If my wallet can convince my loyalty- and it usually does- then Montage will be seen more frequently. With good snow and everything open, this would be a hard bargain to beat. However, one more visit with poor snow may cause the battle re-ignite..and there certainly won't be any free water provided to put it out! 3 Solid stars...on a return visit with better conditions, that will be bumped to a 4. If I could give negative stars, I would. First, Montage doesn't want to miss out on any extra money and the tubing hill was OVERFLOWING with people...in the middle of COVID. With the extra money they're raking in, you'd think it would be smart to buy some new rope for the tubes in order to make carrying easier. In two hours we only got four runs down the hill. Second, there was zero authority taken from staff when people would line up on the closest slots instead of insisting on moving down to the empty slots further away. Third, we paid $50 for a two year old to go tubing, thinking we could put them on our laps on the way down, and wasn't told until the TOP of the hill that we, and I quote, "Just put her in her own tube and push her down." This baby is just under two years of age. You would think when we asked about her riding with someone when buying the ticket we would've been informed that she can only ride the kiddy hill....WHICH IS NON EXISTENT. THERE IS NO KIDDY HILL. Absolutely terrible setup ran by teenagers. Wouldn't waste the money ever again. read more

Went there for Camp Bisco 2018 and it was a blast. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, food vendors were delicious, the view on the mountain is amazing, and the water park is so much fun. They also have a zip line which looks like a blast! For a festival it was still a pretty clean place and overall spectacular atmosphere. Definitely recommend Bisco, it was a lot of fun and I'd even go back to Montage just for the water park and other fun activities they offer read more

Montage mountain is a ski resort during the winter and a Waterpark during the summer. They are mostly known for their ski resort. There are multiple ski slopes ranging from beginner to experience. As far as I know it's one of the only ski resorts in the area. During the summer they have a waterpark with a couple of rafter rides they have a wave pool and a little kid pool. During the summer there's also a zip line that you can go down from the top of one of the ski slopes. Overall montage Mountain is a nice resort I don't know if I want to spend more than two days here but if you're looking for a place to ski I definitely recommend it here. read more

I've snowboarded at Montage a few times. It's a small ski resort. There are not a lot of trails. Each time I've been, it was never super crowded and I've never had to wait for the lifts. The lifts are really slow though, especially the lift for the greens. This most recent visit was during their annual Montage Mountain Festival, where they have dj's, live music, pond skimming, and raffles. Usually at this event, they have free ski if you wear a costume or $20 lift tickets, and they had advertised that for this year too. Even news and tourist websites advertised the free costume skiing, but then Montage got new management who got cheap and changed their mind. However, they did not notify any of those websites to correct the pricing on the lift tickets so everyone assumed it was free ski like always. They knew those sites were citing free ski, yet they did not bother posting on their own website or facebook event to let people know that they should disregard all other outlets and that it's actually regular priced lift tickets. One person even asked on facebook about pricing, but no response from Montage. That is terrible business practice from the new management. They were banking on people to show up because of the usual costumed free ski. The lady in front of us at customer service had printed out a webpage about the free ski, but they didn't care to honor it so she and her group left. Who knows how many others felt bamboozled and just left. It was pretty empty that day. Not a good look for Montage. One good thing about Montage is that they do have a pretty decent bar area and live music for a ski resort. read more

Brought my 13 and 14 year olds for the first time today to the water park. It was a very nice fun day the slides and pools looked well maintained, lines were short so we got to easily go on all the slides many times!! The food was a bit lackluster but it is late in the season so maybe that had to do with it. All in all this was a great visit and I would recommend it to anyone. read more
