I could not recommend MBC enough. I had my third mammogram there and the experience with the team is unlike any I have had in medicine. From the moment you check in, you are treated kindly and as though you are a person- not a client. The team is thorough and compassionate and walk you through the entire process. The team member who did my mammogram was gentle and cheers you on the entire time "almost done, doing great, almost done!" I had the slightest wait afterwards to be in seen by the PA and the staff member who brought me into my examine room apologized for the wait, but also informed me that the results look great and the doctor would just be a few more minutes...this may sound small, but waiting for the results is stressful and it put me at ease. The PA, Kruti McDonald was absolutely WONDERFUL. She spent time listening and talking to me and didn't rush at all. She was thorough, knowledgeable and TOOK HER TIME-- again, made me feel as though I mattered, my concerns mattered and that she honestly cared. I really can't recommend MBC enough. read more

At one time, Montclair Breast center was consider the best for care. The practice is not what it had been at one time. Staff is not as caring. There is no longer a MD to read mammograms or bone density scans. Making appts is a nightmare. I paid twice because statements were confusing and incorrect. Having someone look into it is an even bigger nightmare. I can only hope they can return to level of care they once provided. read more

My anxiety was off the charts, and so I was almost a decade overdue for my mammogram. But everything about this visit was comforting and relaxing. The building is easy to find, and they have a parking lot. The check-in and wait was quick. There's a pen cup with breasts on it, and the pink pens are super cute. There's only one paper to fill out if you've done the online registration beforehand. Then you go to a room with a nurse and go thru some details (family history etc). She takes you to a small dressing room where you get into a gown and put your stuff in a cute, secure locker. Here's the only drawback: The gown ties in the middle so you have to clutch it closed or your chest will be exposed in the waiting room. Also, the gown doesn't have pockets, so there's no place to put your locker key. (I tucked mine in my bun bc I was wearing leggings that didn't have pockets.) NOTE FOR FUTURE SELF: Bring 2 pins, one to close top of gown for waiting room and walking around between rooms, the second to pin your locker key to your gown or pants (or wear pants or a skirt with pockets). Or wear one of those wrist/armbands with a small pocket (for running or hiking or whatever). I had a sonogram then a 3D mammography. The care was gentle and, well, caring. You get your results before you leave, so no stressing out waiting. 110% recommend MBC! PS: To the reviewer who didn't get an appointment bc THEY didn't call HER to make an appointment? Like, that's not even a thing. (Also, no friends, only 1 review, and created her account in January just to post this negative review, even tho she lives in San Francisco? Looks like her review is the bad apple in the bunch.) OH YEAH, I have to mention they took my insurance and I just had a $xx copay. When I first found this place I was worried it would be out-of-pocket and I wouldn't be able to afford it. If you're nervous, don't be. Just go! read more

I'm glad that so many others could get what they need at Montclair Breast Center. Sadly it is not my experience. Second appointment - After waiting 9 months for an MRI, and having MBC reschedule the appointment once, perhaps two times, today in a dangerous rain storm I was about to reach the center for my appointment just on time. I had intended to be so much earlier but the rain made my 1.5 hour drive to the center very dangerous. My phone rang in the car. Five minutes before my appointment, MBC said I had to reschedule because I was too late. I said I would come in anyway since I was arriving at the building, and do the rescheduling in person. I understand that a paper needed to be signed and so it was suggested to come in 15 mins before the appointment time (it took 30 seconds because I did it proactively for any future visits), they said I was too late to do it. But consider that I am a high risk patient who has patiently waited for her appointment for 9 months, working through the rescheduling, the difficulty in communicating with the MRI folks, and coming in at the appointment time in a wild downpour. Why am I so horrified that arriving at my appointment time lead to my appointment being cancelled by MBC? For my first appointment at MBC I waited for more than 45 minutes, perhaps an hour past my appointment time, and it wasn't until I said that due to needing to get my kid from school that I would not be able to wait longer that they rushed me in. I was only supposed to be there for a few minutes of record review, a second opinion, not a mammogram or any service. After the review they rushed through a mammogram because after because they found that my previous mammogram was done incorrectly. A lump was found by Harding but then found to be not a lump via the new mammogram. I do thank them for redoing the mammogram but the treatment by MBC regarding the much needed MRI is not ok. If I can be waiting an hour in the waiting room for MBC, in return, no canceling on me for being there at the time of the appointment. The lag with the MRI means that I'm now delayed by several months on my annual mammogram. I didn't get a letter in the mail about it and no one called me to get the second annual appointment set up, I suppose the step was to get the MRI and then be rescheduled for a routine mammogram, I guess... anyway, today was rather cruel at Montclair Breast Center. The MRI was rescheduled but I feel sick trying to navigate what the MRI folks might do next time. I will try to find another place that is easier to navigate and move on. As a high risk person, I need to not have to face this many barriers to get vital tests in a timely manner. read more

Everything about my experience here was wonderful. It's never a pleasant experience when you need to see a specialist for a possible health problem, however, everyone in this office makes you feel at ease and confident that you're in good hands. I was able to make an appointment at the referral of my doctor within 4 days. They are very thorough on the phone when gathering health information and, luckily, they're in-network with my health insurance. I was able to complete most of my paperwork online before my appointment. The office staff is kind and helpful. Dr. Borgos took me back on time and took a complete medical history before my examination. She was kind, compassionate, thorough-all of the qualities that make an amazing doctor. I received information from the radiologist while I was still in the office, which eased my mind immensely. I would HIGHLY recommend this practice to anyone in need. read more

They are warm, friendly, respectful and courteous. They understand the nervousness of the patient especially with first time mammogram. It's no uncomfortable.. it's simply painful! But so is the dentist root canal - but breast care is a necessity to your health/life. They make you feel comfortable and provide wealth of information to ensure you are on the right path to good breast health. At the age of 31, the prospect of needing a biopsy frightened me. I come from having a family history of breast cancer, so when it came time for an exam, I wanted as fast and as thorough of answers as I could possibly get. Enter: Montclair Breast Center. Let me tell you - I had a plethora of female friends tell me I needed to bring somebody with me for moral support. Against their judgement I went alone anyway, and you know what? I didn't need to bring anybody with me because of the level of comfort that the staff and the doctors here are willing to provide. (I'm also stubborn, but that's beside the point.) Dr. Elliott is just above and beyond compassionate and attentive. I had a very thorough exam with her. She explained everything we were seeing on the ultrasound and what to expect as well as what not to be concerned about. She showed me the differences between healthy tissue and any areas of concern as well as how they can be distinguished. Next, I was handed off to their technician Maria, who continued a thorough ultrasound, along with additional detailed explanation and clarity about the images captured and how they were labeled. She even brought me water to drink to addressed any concerns and questions I had for the biopsy I was about to receive. Dr. Quackenbush came in for final imaging and to perform the biopsy. She was so incredibly informative that I immediately felt at-ease. Her impeccable sense of humor had me laughing throughout - I don't know many people that can say they've been able to laugh their way through a biopsy, but I did. The entire team of doctors here and the staff are just amazing, and the finance department is so completely caring and easy to work with. I cannot stress enough how incredible this practice is. The only tears I shed that day were happy ones knowing I'd been in such good hands along with a provided sense of relief. read more

I recently had my mastectomy surgery on April 23rd, 2019 at the North Fullerton Ambulatory Surgical Center in Montclair New Jersey. Dr Laura Borgos was my breast surgeon. I just cannot say enough good things about Dr Borgos. From the first moment I met Dr Borgos, I immediately felt so comfortable and at ease with her, especially after being diagnosed with such a traumatic illness. Dr Borgos is so kind, professional, knowledgeable, honest, understanding, and compassionate with excellent bedside manners. I trusted Dr Borgos with my life and to perform my mastectomy surgery. Dr Borgos delivered first class service and took such good care of me. I would also like to acknowledge Nicole, such a sweet and gentle soul who answered my many questions pertaining to surgery and who did all the surgery scheduling for me. All I had to do was show up on surgery day. Nicole took care of everything and always willing to give a hug when needed. Thank you Nicole for also holding my hand during those 4 dye injections prior to the mastectomy. You are a gem!!!! I would also like to acknowledge the staff at the Montclair Breast Center, you always greeted me with a smile and made me feel so welcome whenever I visited. My daughter was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer, and amazingly, they did all the testing in two days. They sent her on to MSKCC (Sloan Kettering), and her oncologist and surgeon both comment on how FAST and how good the testing was. My daughter is very young, 30, and the concern and caring of the staff was overwhelming, yet also matter-of-fact, sensing that she needed that approach. They were gentle, they all helped her keep her sense of humor, while giving her absolutely horrible news. They reached out to my husband and me, knowing how upset we were. They helped with the transition to MSK, and .... well, I just can't say enough about them. read more

I went to Montclair breast center because I found a lump under my breast. I read the reviews and was satisfied that I would be in good hands. I had a mammography, ultrasound and biopsy. I thought I could never get cancer not signs in family history. . Unfortunately they found cancer. I would of loved to stay with the center but they do not take Medicare and had to pay out of pocket for procedures. It was a hard decision that I had to make. I then had to find another facility where to go to finish the process. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat , but sad I could not continue with them. read more

:( SMH, I needed to make an appointment for myself and my daughter. My daughter wanted her very first breast exam to be done by MBC and I needed an immediate appointment b/c of breast pain. I had my surgery there so I thought maybe I could come in to be exam. I was then told I could not make an appointment, nor my daughter who never been to MBC, which was so sad for her b/c she had nothing to do with my issue. Sure there was an oversite during the covid shutdown which I immediately resolved the issue, so I can get in quickly. I called three different times and was finally told someone will be calling me back to set up appointment for myself and my daughter. I never got a call back. I was in so much pain, I had to be seen by another Doctor who reluctantly to see me but did, I was thankful the Doctor did. Sad to say, I never got the appointment for myself or my daughter. The two people I spoke to could careless, to call me back (two bad apples can spoil the whole bunch). With that being said, I give the two bad apples a negative 1.5 star so I had to minus a 1.5 star from MBC b/c of the bad apples I will have to give MBC a 3.5 or 4 star. Being honest MBC is great, the doctors are awesome and I do highly recommend. read more

I was very anxious when I went there. The staff was extremely helpful, calming with a touch of cheerfulness thrown in (but in a good way). They could tell right away that I was pretty scared and made efforts to calm me down. The doctors I met with were very approachable and explained everything as it was going on. They were very comfortable with all the questions I had. When a further test was suggested, the staff member met me right outside the changing room. I didn't have to wonder where to go or who to talk to. The only suggestion I have, sometimes I prefer to pay my copay right away at the beginning of the appointment, so I can leave in a hurry if something during the visit upsets me. This would be a helpful option. Easy to find parking in their designated lot behind the building. Easy to make an appointment. read more

I was referred these doctors from a friend who had a very complicated situation, like mine. I was young and scared, but knew I had no choice, but to go. The doctors, the staff, the facility and environment, all ensure a stress free, comfortable experience that is hands down simply the best! I have referred many friends who can attest to same. The entire team at Montclair Breast Center are caring, compassionate, dedicated, knowledgeable, and very professional. They take great care to ensure your visit is as pleasant and comfortable as possible. The office is beautifully decorated and serene. The MRI center is equally as wonderful. I have been a patient of Dr. Elliot's for 20 years, she is kind, personable, intelligent, gracious, and always spends as much time as necessary for each appointment to explain in common language all details of the visit and treatment if necessary. I have never felt rushed and have always known that I was in the best hands. Each and every staff member works hard to make you feel at ease and to know that they truly care for you.
