I'd actually call it more of a bakery cafe with various breakfast and lunch offerings. I bought three things. A four-pointed throwing star of a strawberry cheese pastry, a guava pastry and a chicken empanada. They were all good. The pastries weren't too sweet and had nice texture. The empanada had a shiny, crunchy outer shell that looked cool. The chicken filling was meaty, well seasoned and actually had a few raisins. My food was better than I had a right to expect for a bakery I just wandered into. I may go back to try a sandwich next. Four Stars.

We were welcomed and the service was very friendly and interactive. We ordered a custard, a cinnamon roll, a guava pastry, a creamed shrimp pastry and some Portuguese rolls. The custard was flaky like my favorite croissants and the filling was slightly warn, smooth and not overly sweet. My wife and I both liked it a lot. The guava pastry was very good and better than another I recently had in the area. I often think the guava filling comes from a jar, but I didn't think that today. My son said the cinnamon roll was a 9 out of 10, but could have used a touch more cinnamon. The creamy shrimp pastry was savory, delicious and light. I'm looking forward to using the rolls for sandwiches. I'll return again for the friendly service and great pastries and perhaps a new discovery or two.

It's a good bakery, stuff is always fresh and the flavors in each of their cupcakes, muffins, breads, and other misc bakery items is present and forward. They know that they are good, and charge accordingly. Given that there's no direct competition in a 10 mile radius (and I would argue even past that 10 mile radius the pickings are slim) the price is justifiable for the quality you get. As someone who treks a lot around the state, I find that there are many bakeries that do similar if not better items for comparable if not lower prices. But to ask someone to drive 30-60 minutes just to get something a couple bucks cheaper that's tastes about the same? It's a hard sale. I will say that Luanne's is the best in that area of the state, not including the small boutique places that are well off the beaten path. I still come here for the view and ambiance, but I don't order much of their food.
