Totally understaffed. My mom waits and waits. Staff can be quite rude…read more Cannot bring in food due to their requirement to keep kosher. The food they serve is inconsistent and looks unappetizing a lot of the time. Bad dinner equals no dinner. How much boost can one person drink? Their dishwasher is currently broken so it's been paper plates and plastic utensils. And nothing stays warm. Seniors very often look forward to mealtime as the high point of the day. Not here. We're moving her to Tapestry senior living in wickliffe this week. It will be a night and day difference for her. Unfortunately her time at this place took her back 10 steps in her rehab. My parents have lived there for about a year…read more My mom fell getting into bed early one the morning. She pressed her emergency button and it took almost two hours until someone responded. Luckily she was not seriously injured and was discharged from the hospital the same day. The executive director and I discussed this and the system has been tested and modified and her pendant will be checked. The dryer has been replaced once (with a used one from another apartment) and still takes hours to dry a single load. This is very stressful for her. After discussing with the executive director, the setup will be replaced and technicians will be in to check the installation. Maintenance requests are an issue. I am not sure if the requests are being entered correctly or are being lost or if there is an issue with how they are being communicated. The cleaning, dining room and front desk staff are caring and try to help. I am more comfortable after a discussion with the director, time will tell.

She was very apolgetic and she said all of my complaints have been reviewed with the staff and my mom would receive much better care. My mom was telling the staff that they didnt need to help her she could do it herself. She didnt want to inconvience anybody. The staff were sincere in their care and in their respect for my Mom's welfare. The food was very tasty: The many times that I visited my Mom over those four years, I also enjoyed the food. There were a large choice of activities, including music, cognitive, fun and physical. Every Jewish Holiday was celebrated. If I needed to one day live in an assisted living facility, Stone Gardens is where it would be.

There was no breakfast tray, anyways I went to the front desk to tell the nurses that my father passed away . Nurses were having a good time laughing . We went to the room were he was passed away. If you're considering placing a vulnerable family member here -- please think twice…read more My loved one was admitted to Grand Pointe for post-hospital recovery with advanced liver and kidney failure. I had full Power of Attorney and had made it absolutely clear that a specific individual was legally barred from contact due to prior abuse and interference. Despite this, that person was allowed into the building multiple times, including an incident where he tried to remove her from the facility without medical clearance. Less than a week later, she went into alcohol withdrawal during dialysis, required CPR, and was hospitalized with ethanol in her system -- something that never should have happened inside a controlled care facility. When I flew in from out of state to see for myself, I walked right through the front door at 7 p.m., no sign-in, no check, no cameras, no one stopped me. I spent five minutes in her room -- completely unchallenged. Her room was dusty, her belongings were missing, and multiple nurses were still speaking with the individual I had legally prohibited. To this day, I've received no apology, no explanation, and not even a courtesy follow-up after she nearly died. Yet the facility had no issue charging over $15,000 for her stay. This place failed at every level: no security, no accountability, and no respect for patient safety. Their negligence set my loved one back weeks in recovery and nearly cost her her life. Families deserve better than this.

I have been a member here since 2008. I have had physical therapy at least times for my neck,…read moreback, and general strengthening. The therapists are excellent. I have had both aquatic and regular (land) therapy. I use the pool for exercise. The warm water pool has benefits that regular swimming pools do not have. The pool equipment is provided and enhances the water exercises. I have also worked with a therapist in the exercises room in a program designed for me. LAC is my go-to fitness place. Don't know what I would do without it.

Every therapist that I have worked with has been competent and caring and I can recommend them highly. The pool is the real gem in the facility. It is kept at a comfortable temperature and has various depths to accommodate all manner of exercise and therapy. The management of the facility has done an excellent job of accommodating individual and supervised therapy in these days of social distancing.

My mother has been a resident in the Memory Care Unit of Governor's Village for about a year and a…read morehalf. The building itself is always clean, homey and well-decorated (non-institutional). Much thought has been given to creating a pleasant experience for visitors and residents alike. Garden areas are wonderful during spring, summer and fall for walks, bird watching, gardening. There are plenty of events, celebrations to meet various interests/abilities. They have just built a new addition which was handled in such a creative, thoughtful way -- residents' lives remained normal and calm despite construction. Plus, it is beautiful! Most important, I am thrilled with the level of care, concern and genuine affection/compassion the staff provides and exhibits toward my mother, as well as the other residents. Patience, understanding, creativity and sense of family are very evident whether a resident's family member is present or not. Nurses and caregivers have gone out of their way to meet my mother's needs and mine as well -- so I'd don't need to guess how she is doing. They share anecdotes of what she's said or done during the day; if she's happy, sad; ate well/or not so well; was up all night or slept well -- without my asking. This is very important to me as her primary caregiver. They are truly extensions of me and do it better than I ever could at this point in her journey. We are both blessed to have found such a wonderful place for her to live.
