In terms of care, I would have to say that this lack of communication does not speak well in that regard. I have no idea what I am to do next because I'm pretty sure my insurance won't cover a second sleep study. :-( Update: apparently all offices are now closed and nobody is able to return calls or messages. Truly amazing. Do t get sucked into this scam.

He doesn't listen, instead lectures before even asking how I'm doing on the program, if I'm having issues with meds, and how I'm sleeping and when I shared my physical side effects from a new prescription he "doubted" that they were the cause. Even though when I went off them, the symptons stopped. What's that about? When I tried to switch to another provider at the center, it was denied because I was already Dr. Maheri's patient. What? This center has loss the core understanding of concern for patients. And when I tried to share my experience. No one from Montage wanted to hear it. Too bad. From the admistrative manager to the doctors, their focus seems to be elsewhere.

While the procedure was performed correctly, her demeaning behavior and lack of warmth made the interaction uncomfortable and upsetting. It was disappointing to encounter this level of unprofessionalism after a strong initial impression. I hope the institute addresses this, as the skill level of their staff is evident, but respectful and compassionate communication should be consistent throughout the patient experience.

She's one of the top docs of any type that I've ever seen. She's extremely thorough and really takes time to listen as well as do a thorough exam. Her annual exam includes an EKG and pulmonary function test. I've had numerous appointments that have lasted over an hour. She's also very proactive -- I've had a hip issue for years that my two previous GPs ignored, and she helped with a couple of treatment ideas and ordering imaging, which included a pretty epic battle with my insurance company. I will need surgery to fix it, but she's the first doc who actually listened and helped me address it. I've also seen her for several other issues, including Covid, gut issues, rheumatology, and anxiety. She's been knowledgable and compassionate about them all, and her referrals have been solid. Be aware that there is a concierge fee. To me it's extremely well spent: it buys me long, thorough appointments (1 hour plus) and phone access outside office hours. I once called with post-Covid breathing issues after hours, got the doctor directly, she reassured me I didn't need to go to ER and saw me the next day at 7:30 am. I can text and get a response on a weekend. Fee is 1/10 of what it would be in Silicon Valley. If you are a person who only sees the doctor once a year, might not be worth it.

She had a nocturnal seizure whilst hooked up to the CPAP machine, and when he reviewed the tape he told the medical assistant to tell me he wasn't concerned about it. What? This doctor suggested we get an $800 CPAP machine, and even mentioned that her chin was too small, and maybe she would need reconstructive surgery to fix that. A pulmonoloist doesn't read for seizures, so if you are having a sleep study because you think you might be having seizures, I would look elsewhere for help. Find a neurologist who specializes in sleep.

A good friend also just had a study and had the same diagnosis as me. I think everybody who shows up at a sleep center for help sleeping has some apnea, so everybody gets a CPAP prescription. It's a racket in my opinion. Up to a half of people who get a CPAP stop using it. I did, didn't really need it and it was a pain. It needs to be kept clean and some parts replaced for maintenance. Some people tolerate it well and it helps them. They didn't tell either one of us the downsides. The medical supply people are very aggressive. Follow the money. For the follow up visit after the study they put him with a freshman physicians assistant, not the doctor. They just want to schedule you for a machine after a short explanation that is lots of jargon and confusing. That was not very good and she cut the meeting short at noon because she had a meeting. Hope she had a nice lunch. I found the staff who did the study to be friendly and efficient and they took good care. But the study itself is a very unnatural sleeping experience with all the sensors and wires and such that are connected to you.

I recently visited for an exam, a cleaning and a fitting for an oral device to treat my sleep apnea and snoring. Dr. Atraya is a certified practitioner for oral sleep apnea devices, including Medicare coverage for patients that have been diagnosed. She had fitted me for an oral apnea device 5 years ago, and it has served me well. I was ready for an upgraded device so I returned to consult with Dr. Atraya and begin the process. All of the staff and Dr. Atraya are practicing very careful procedures during COVID-19 to sanitize all office areas. Dr. Atraya and Anna wear face shields. There are additional shields placed between the doctor and patient, and between the hygienist and the patient. There is an aerosol suction device placed right next to the patient's mouth to vent exhalation to the outside of the building. Dr. Atraya also let me know that the office is regularly sanitized with a UV light technology. This really is a family dental practice- everyone takes good care of the patient; they inspire confidence in my dental health.
