I would like to file a formal complaint regarding an experience I had with the head registered nurse, during the morning shift on Sunday, July 19, 2026. I am a stage IV cancer patient with several serious medical conditions that make it extremely difficult for me to care for myself. My wife is my primary caregiver, but she must also work, so while I am in the hospital, I rely on the nursing staff for assistance with my basic care. While my assigned nurse was on break, I called for assistance because my G-tube was leaking significantly, soaking the dressing and making a mess across my stomach. At the same time, my feet were severely swollen and extremely painful, making it impossible for me to get up or care for myself. When Nurse responded, I explained that the dressing needed to be changed because it was completely soaked. Instead of helping me, she appeared to want me to place another dressing over the wet, soiled one and leave it that way. I also told her that I had been vomiting and asked for an emesis bag. Her response was, "You are asking for too much." I was shocked and deeply hurt by that statement. She handed me the supplies and walked out of the room in what I felt was a very rude and dismissive manner. As a patient who is fighting stage IV cancer and has been told that I may only have weeks or months to live, I expect to be treated with compassion, dignity, and respect. Instead, I felt like I was a burden for asking for basic nursing care. I have always taken the time to recognize and compliment the excellent nurses and doctors who have cared for me during my hospital stays. They work incredibly hard, and I truly appreciate their dedication. This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to file a complaint because my experience with Nurse was unlike anything I have encountered. What concerns me even more is that she is a head registered nurse. Leadership in nursing should set the standard for compassionate, patient-centered care and serve as a positive example for the rest of the staff. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect those values. I am sharing this not only for myself but also for other patients who may be too sick, too frightened, or unable to advocate for themselves. No patient--especially one facing a terminal illness--should ever feel dismissed or made to feel like they are asking for too much when requesting necessary medical assistance. I respectfully ask that this matter be investigated and addressed appropriately. My hope is that no other patient experiences the treatment that I received. She then prescribed seven day supply of the sedative medication, I was informed that refills were dependent on virtual "pain-level check in " which would occur either Monday or Friday, between the hours of 8-5. I informed my referring PC that I did not want to continue with that agency and would seek another agency and for . I also informed the office staff who I would give a five star rating to. We're not for the fact that this morning out of the I got another call from Dr. Hwong said I'm calling to check on your pain level. I am relocating and I will be looking for another specialist. This is a very poor listener. And I noticed that the patients in the office were and shuffling around like the walk of the dead. I would strongly advise against using the services of this position. l

I asked see someone who specializes in Keratoconus and Scleral lenses. I was told that would be possible. I arrive for my appointment and first thing is they make it abundantly clear (with tacky printed paper signs) that they DO NOT see patients without a co-pay. Receptionist was rude, but hey low wages and $6 gas, I get it. But at least get some professional signs. I forgot my wallet and was informed they don't see patients without a co-pay. Period. They don't take any form of digital payments. I was able to use my digital credit card's virtual card number for the $50 copay. I sat down and waited and waited min for my appointment. They had no problem giving plenty of attention to the vendors who came in after me. Two vendors were led back to see their physicians without haste and both appeared to come in unannounced. I finally get called back, with no apology for any delays. I've been treated better in a line at a night club. After initial question were gathered, I was informed that I was only scheduled for a basic eye exam and NOT anything related to getting my prescription updated (even though I specifically stated that when I called), I would have to come back and spend ANOTHER $50 to see a different doctor who does not specialize in Keratoconus, but handles prescriptions. Both of my previous experiences at optometrist both doctors who specialized in my eye disease were able to examine my eyes AND fit my scleral lens prescription. Here it seems they want to milk you for all they can, so book you for 2 separate appointments. They did cancel my appointment, but I wasted my time taking off work and going here to sit around in a waiting room with 1 bar of cell service. Avoid. The customer service is awful. They do a great job at making you feel like a number. But that's what you get in America where our healthcare is a luxury to be rationed. If you are going to rob people for co-pays at least get some decent wifi so we can browse the internet while we wait patiently for our rationed health care. Trust the one star reviews, Waste of time and overly expensive with bad attitudes. Go else where.

Thank you to all of you, and also the 2 new nurses introduced to me in the operating room as I was saying hello while succumbing to the anesthesia. I remember laughing to myself as they wheeled me down the hall, and saying I felt like a famous formula 1 driver and they were my superstar pit crew! They know how to help you relax and have a little fun before and after the procedures. I've had four different surgeons. They were all top notch. The facility is clean, busy and full of people who care and try to make your procedure as smooth as possible. I rather enjoyed the chatter amongst the staff. It showed me that they enjoyed their job and their co-workers. It was a true team experience. I highly recommend any of their Monterey facilities.
