Juiciest 1" Monterey Burger $17 with side salad 5/5 10-2024

Come for the entertainment, and the good, mostly house prepped food, a bonus. This is our 3rd time, 2 Blues and tonight Santa Panchita salsa reggae ska $10 cover was the best!. Shows at beginning of week often have no cover and the surrounding boutiques and rock art gallery open on weekends have some great jewelry, hats, accessories and clothing finds. Come support live music and the Court Yes, servers get busy and waits can be a bitong sometimes for refills, etc but they try hard to do right by all With so many seniors in Tucson esp who enjoy MC specialty,Blues, it would be great for more low sugar NA bevvies wines, Kombucha, Seltzers, Hop Waters. Settled for a Diet RC for the night, the food is much more exciting. Hubby's $11 Old Fashioned was much better last visit, this one in tiny glass and barely a measure it was too sout from an unripe muddled orange. Melvin IPA $8 draft far better. Hubby had a very juicy and beefy Angus Monterey Burger, one of the best we can remember for flavorful beef, AND rare as ordered although missed the mushrooms 50c extra, $1 for Blue so watch those, and served with a side choice; got salad.. All dressings house made. Caesar and Blue on table were very tasty. Customized Mac n Cheese comes with 3 toppings, 3 proteins, Chix, chorizo, bacon, I got Chix mushrooms and roasted Poblanos. Pasta elbows were a bit over but I finished every bite! Previously trips had snapper sandwich 4/5 and Chicken Pot Pie 5/5. A Tucson must, historic 1930s movie backdrop and repurposed motor court, intimate setting for up close live tunes with a small dance floor and boutique retailers and some real good food

Best Halloween party in town. Full stop. The bartender here knows his stuff and has been here for quite some time. Cookie Monster approves.

I met up here with a friend who was here with the group a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. it was hot outside, but fortunately, the courtyard has misers on the patio, which helped a lot. It's also a shaded patio. I came later and the afternoon probably around 12:45-ish I ordered the macaroni and cheese after seeing someone else with macaroni and cheese you're able to add three things and I added chicken, bacon, and poblano peppers. My macaroni and cheese came out looking a little different than the one I saw previously and tasted a little bit bland. My vegan friend commented that they may have given me the vegan one instead on accident. This service was very distant and curt. I know that they were closing around 2pm, at which point he and I think maybe one other person started putting away chairs around us. We quickly left. I will say I did not feel welcome by the service.

It's Hit or Miss sometimes at Monterey Court. Saturday night was a miss. The opening act, Duolino, they need work. A lot of work. Headliner Sophia Rankin and her band.....what a nice set. Tight sound and Sophia has a great voice. A server did not show i heard. Service was slow and plodding. we continually had to ask for things. Good Reuben, bad pot pie. Worse service. We will be back of course but sometimes it is just a miss.

One of my faves for a night out. Music. Dance floor. Food. Drinks. It's all good stuff. Been here for some of the best local talent. And I will certainly be back for more.

4 stars overall 5 stars for the music 3+ stars for the food My partner and I love the unique, quirky space that is Monterey Court. They continue to host great musicians pretty much every night of the week. That hasn't changed. :) Since my last review, Greg, Kelly, and their team have made some positive changes that are important to share. The first is more coverage from the elements - you're still outside, but there is more shade and cooling/heat depending on the season. The next is service. Our recent experiences have been great with prompt delivery of food and frequent check-ins from the server. Finally, there are more vegetarian options available, including some specials! Throughout a trying year, Monterey Court not only looked after the safety of their customers, but also listened to them to further improve customer experience. If you haven't already, come give them a try!

Went to see The Garland Green Band for Sunday brunch. An exciting up and coming band from Tucson and Canyon Del Oro high school. The music was great and the lead singer had an exciting voice and the other musicians especially the drummer was very good. Food service was hectic. It took a while to get drinks and menus but the food came out quickly once ordered. It was alright, nothing exciting. They were short staffed and the server just worked the evening shift. It's nice to see live music again. They had mister to help with the heat. Parking is either along the street or a dirt parking lot to the west just for Monterey Court events.

Everything is made differently with less flavor and finesse. The lettuce wraps used to be standout now they're dry and under seasoned. It's also presented differently which made for an awkward dining experience. I remember being blown away by the katsu chicken sandwhich the first time. This time it was gross. It was not fried like katsu but more so like a battered chicken breast. It always was not pounded flat into a uniform piece of meat but was more so a badly butchered breast that fell apart when you ate it. It was dry, under seasoned, fried way too hard and was stringy. I'd come for drinks and completely pass on the food all together. Not worth the high price tag associated with it. Karaoke DJ was stellar!!!!! Kept the party going and was so fun!!!!!

It is dark inside and usually I do not like going into establishments that do not have windows. At 530 pm on a Saturday night, the bar was half full and there were a few tables with people as the band was setting up for later in the evening. We ordered drinks and some appetizers. Perhaps our waitress was just having an off day, but there were a few errors. I specifically asked for our appetizers to come out prior to our main courses as I like to enjoy the small plates before the main course. I want to sit down, taste the food, enjoy a beverage and the experience, and not feel rushed. The main courses came out almost as soon as the appetizers, and the tables are small (there was just my wife and I), and it felt cramped when everything came out. The appetizers were quite good and were the highlight of the meal. The Devils on Horseback (Bacon Wrapped Dates stuffed with Herbed Goat Cheese) were flavorful, but would have been better baked then deep-fried. The Spicy Korean Style Meat Balls (House made Garlic Ginger Meatballs served with Baby Bok Choy and a Spicy Korean Glaze) were excellent! I had the Sonoran Perfect Manhattan. While the drink was ok, I think using the word "perfect" is more of an aspiration. The Kara-Age Chicken Sandwich (Japanese-style Fried Chicken sandwich with our Asian Slaw, on a soft Brioche Bun. Also available "HOT" style with Sriracha) could have been better. I asked our waitress some questions about the food and then pointed out this is not what was described in the menu for example it was supposed to come with Cajun fries, and these were just plain fries. She explained that they were down a cook. I was going to have another drink, but we just decided to leave. Perhaps they just had an off night; it happens. I think this place has potential, and I'd like to experience it more positively than I did.

If you know a guy with a garage band who does decent covers of dad rock, he probably plays here on Thursday nights. Every now and then, you'll still see younger artists and crowds, as well as frequent karaoke. The sound system is great, and the new paint job, especially the mural gives it extra character. If you can bear the consistently loud environment, the small menu carries some hearty bar food. I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich, but the wings are solidly above average. If you want to dine while enjoying some entertainment in a welcoming, unpretentious environment, you can't overlook Big Bad Wolf. I hope it sticks around!

Yelp alerted me that it's no longer a food truck, but a bar and grill now. It had taken the place of the old Rockabilly Lounge. I had never been to the Rockabilly, but Big Bad Wolf is a pretty interesting place. I would probably label this as a dive bar or possibly a biker bar, but don't be fooled. They have live entertainment every day, open early and stay open late. There's plenty of parking in the back. There are also 2 entrances--the back is where the motorcyle over the entrane is and there's also a front entrance. The stage area is pretty large. There are 2 pool tables ---no cost to play. They also have a smoking area in the back which has some tables and a small horseshoe bar type area--no bar though but you can take your drinks food etc out there. A TV to watch sports. Now why you might want to try this--- very friendly staff, around 20 beers on tap, and exceptional bar food. I had the Big Bad Wolf which is a pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw served on a hamburger bun with seasoned fries. My brother ordered the Cubano which he said was awesome--pulled pork, ham, pickle and cheese. We shared a basket of loaded fries which come with real bacon pieces, cheese and diced jalapenos. We also wanted to share a plate of wings. The wings and sauce are exceptional. Wings are pretty big and crispy -- no breading. They have a late night happy hour reduced pricing on drinks. Overall we were very impressed. A place to go for great comfort food, watching sports on the TV's or just chilling to some music. I hope they do well since I'll probably look them up again the next time I visit the Tucson area.
