I don't frequent bars, but my hubby and I went to support a friend who is in the state finals for a karaoke competition. We're happy we arrived 45 minutes early, as parking is tight and not plentiful. The staff were friendly and greeted us with smiles and insights as to the event. The bar was closed for this event and tickets were needed for entry. There was plenty of seating, but the temperature was quite warm with an occasional blast of good air conditioning. The venue acoustics were surprisingly good. We ordered food-I had the mushroom burger with fries, and my husband had a patty melt with onion rings. Service was fast and friendly. Real underrated neighborhood bar not far from the Miracle Mile area. It looks kind of old and run down from the outside--almost like a gimmicky saloon--but once you open those doors, you'll be greeted inside a surprisingly modern interior. It has quite a few tables and a large dance floor. What I loved: I'm not much of a country person, but I absolutely love the cover band they have come through on Fridays. They sounded so polished, and there were so many people dancing! The bar has a small but well-curated assortment of craft beers, and there's a menu too if you didn't grab dinner before going out. What I liked: They make a pretty good burger, and this would be a fine place to watch sports if you squeeze in before the live music plays. I might be a bit too young to be Outlaw's target audience (This is Gen X turf), but I still had fun here and certainly look forward to coming back. read more

Went back to the Outlaw Bar and Grll. And got the same amazing experience. It's under new ownership and they are working on thier menu. I got the hot mess tots and they were great. To a serving of fries onion rings or tots they will add pulled pork nacho cheese and BBQ sauce. I'm a smothers potato lover, and this didn't disappoint. My husband had the nachos with chicken. They have a new recipe for the chicken they use and this was so tender and flavorful. We were also told about the new chicken wings they have that are so good they are entering them in a wing tasting contest. Will definitely go back. And you should give them a try. read more

Love going here for karaoke and food, while me and my family go mainly when Woody is the DJ is amazing at what he does, the other DJs have been amazing too. While service is a little slow at times especially when there's a band or it's packed as hell. You have to remember there is usually only one or two people working bar and the grill, sometimes 3. They don't sell good booze and/or they can't fry a potato. I wanted to like this place, but everything was God awful. Due to the wait staff showing up a few minutes after I got there I didn't know I needed to start a tab with my server. I tied to do so but I was told I can't do it due to system problems. I get we have system issues, but the servers didn't tell me what I needed to do to help them. I ordered a sandwich and extra crispy fries. They took significantly longer than an hour to get a Philly cheese steak out and can't fry potatoes long enough to be well cooked fries like I asked. Their beer is old and past it's prime. I wanted to work with them, but it was horrible. Also I was asked if I was an undercover police because I had questions about their old pale ale. Don't go unless you have a reason to go. We headed to the Outlaw Saloon for karaoke. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of talent! It had a full bar and on the other side of the building they had a band playing and people dancing. People were very friendly and we are looking forward to going back. . When you head up to the DJ to request your karaoke song, there is no book which is nice. So you can sing any song you want! Let me start off by saying this isn't my type of place. Although, it had a lot to offer. They had live music in the main part of the bar. One of the back rooms have karaoke. Which is where I spent most of my time. The owner came around and said hello. Which makes the customer service all that much better. Although, the clientele is somewhat diverse it tends to service older and Cowboys. My fiance isn't any where near a cowboy so it had only taken a few minutes for someone to say something rude. I went here on a Friday night and it was very busy. A lot of people were two stepping to the live band which starts at 9pm. The crowd is much older (50's+) a lot of whom are in cowboy hats and boots so wear yours if you have them. The music seemed slower than the songs at the maverick. The energy was also less than at the maverick. Come here if you want a more low key experience. Everyone is very friendly. They also have karaoke in the back room. This is a western bar. When you see "Outlaw" think old-west, not biker. You will find cowboys, cowboy wannabes, young, old, and everything in between. On the Friday's and the weekends, this is a dance place. Yes, there is pool in the back, but we are there for the live music and dancing. The outside is not inviting, but once you get inside it's the people and the owner that make this a place I return to whenever I'm in Tucson. So my review is based on these particulars. If you stay very long, there is a good chance the owner will find you and say "howdy" and chat for a bit. He genuinely wants you to feel at home and have a good time. And it's not the typical "hi, how is everything" and on to the next table. Wait service is surprisingly good for a place that becomes quite crowded after 9pm. Bartenders, too, are nice and very busy. Keep that in mind and don't be impatient. So the best parts are the live music and dance floor. We have seen two different bands there and enjoyed them both. Though, I have to admit that the Billy Shaw Jr. band would be well worth a cover charge if they actually had one (Outlaw's doesn't). Drink prices are pretty reasonable, though we have only had a couple of beers. I hear the food is good, but never ordered any personally. Be aware that this is a popular place for birthday parties and they may hold tables for those parties. The parking lot is crowded. Park across the street. The first time I went here, I really didn't want to get out of my truck. But I'm glad I did. read more

This is great place to go if you like great Live country bands and a mature crowd. No young college kids flailing around the dance floor crashing into you. Cocktail waitresses are always friendly and prompt. The neighborhood is a bit rough but they have plenty of security and door men. read more

Was in the area for business and saw this place. Looked like a typical old style tavern. Went in and was the same as was expected inside. Dark, but clean appearing. Very friendly, courteous and speedy service. Had an outlaw burger and it was honestly one of the best burgers I have had in a while. Well cooked and seasoned patties and fresh toppings. It is what it is... a bar burger, but a good one at that. Limited menu, but seems very reasonable. Will stop back again when in the area. read more

hi. i would have loved to give this awesome spot 5 stars. however it is friday nighg. most folks are feeling alright. that is such a happy, content beautiful feeling. then the song goes like this one bad apple can't spoil the whole bunch girl but he did. a real asswipe asshole. he doesn't have any children. great. thank god. he doesn't respect senior citizens. he is a white male with young mexican friends and he told me i found the love of my life my half cuban son in the trash ! that is some real rasict f'ed up shit! i verbally told his was off and asked a couple witnesses and innocent bystanders to please shut him up. even at that point his young friends were not on his side abymore. i got se c.f.hurry called out on me and got very nicely respectful asked to leave when that was my plan and intention when i walked out on the patio to breathe some fresh air after having had an excellent awesome time dancing and the band was out of this world excellent. the bartender is great. tbere is another seperate r99. with kareoke and that do is a genius and a very cool, well mannered young man. i love the place but one drink idiot ruined a 5++++ star rating and a fantastic awesome night. read more
