Very nice and fast service. We had a big table with family and everyone's order was timely and correct. Food was flavorful and I loved that the tacos have lots of cilantro! Tacos were really big too. Margaritas are tasty although I wish they were a bit more frozen. This isn't a big place but plenty of room for big groups and very accommodating. read more

Service was very great. Chips tasted a little bit stale, but salsa was very good. We ordered two different burritos, one was super tiny (Verde), and the other (California) was huge. The steak in the California burrito was really chewy. Also ordered a side of cheese enchiladas...they were really creamy, but the sauce tasted ike it was straight from a can. Amazing spot in a strip-mall. Traveling by on I29. We stopped in for a quick late lunch. Chips and salsa wasn't as good as I am used to, salsa being more like taco sauce. It did have great flavor and seemed like no heat. Son ordered a combination plate. Prices were more than reasonable. I ordered shrimp fajitas. The amount of food and the flavor blew me away. I have a great relationship with this place. They keep serving me good food and strong margaritas at a very quick pace; and I keep coming back. Not what I would think of as an overly authentic Mexican place but they give you really good portions for a good price. Chips and salsa comes with the meal and rarely disappoints. Most of the staff are friendly and have worked here a long time, they know how to turn it over. They even handled my somewhat ridiculous and semi-racist grandpa's order without a problem; it was impressive. My recommendation: The San Jose Special. I used to come here all the time until a similar place opened up really close to my house. The food comes out super quick and it's always good. Their margaritas are amazing. The only down side is a lot of the waiters don't seem to speak English well and the orders get messed up a lot. It's also REALLY loud in there because of the type of building they're in. And if it's your birthday they'll come sing to you with a guitar in hand! It's cute. read more

We are from out of town and I was craving mexican food. I googled "best Mexican restaurant in Sioux City" and this came up in the top 3. Really? Guess it's hard to get any good mexican food in that area so those there don't really know the difference. I ordered the steak, chicken, shrimp and bacon fajitas covered in cheese sauce. The steak was non existent except for tiny little pieces so overcooked it wasn't edible. The chicken and shrimp were fine however not a lot of it. The main part of the dish was raw pieces of bacon fat. The cheese sauce was a very small handful of shredded cheese in the very center of the platter. Great big pieces of bacon fat that they hadn't even attempted to cook I assume is what left the huge amount of grease on the fajita sizxling fajita platter. The refried beans appeared and tasted to be some cheap version out of a can. Don't know what was up with the rice but it was not good either I'm not even Hispanic and can make better fajitas, beans and rice. Such a disappointment. Only reason for two stars is the waiter and his attentiveness. read more

I went hear because of all the good recommendations that were here on Yelp. Well All I can say it was disappointing. I do allot of Mexican cooking myself and travel 48 states and eat ALLOT of Mexican food. First of all the booth that they sat me in was dirty, o'well I got over it. Lets get to the important stuff . "THE FOOD" This is a first for me to have Mexican food have no taste. Extremely bland. I had a combination plate. Taco,Chile relleno, chalupa, burrito, and a ground beef enchilada. The taco,enchilada and the beef burrito had the same ground beef for filling and had absolutely no flavor at all . The sauce over the burrito and the enchilada I could of sworn it came out of a can. Zero flavor. I saved the best for last, they Chile Relleno, which is one of my favorites if done right. I proceeded to cut into it with my fork,,,,,couldn't,,,Which is supposed to be cooked so that the Relleno is tender. I tried using the knife, and still couldn't cut through it. I called the waiter over and showed him, he was embarrassed, wanted to make me another, which I declined. Had them take it of the bill. They staff is friendly and the Service is quick, under 5 minutes for food. I think they should slow down and put more time in the quality and taste of the food read more

Very good mexican food. Lime Margarita on rocks was perfect for me, not too sweet. Had the pork burrito. Mole sauce was not as strong a flavor as others I have had but still very good. I had a craving for mexican rice and was not disappointed, very moist with a little spice. Guacamole was very creamy, not how I prefer it, but was tasty. Service was very fast and efficient, had chips and salsa like 10 seconds after I sat down. Lots of staff on hand on this Friday night. Lots of customers too, surprised there aren't more reviews on here. Knife with my silver wear looked clean but was very water spotted. I will certainly be back, hearty fresh salsa and easy drinking margaritas were a great find. read more

We order via Door Dash, so I don't know how much the restaurant is to blame, but our food arrived an hour and a half after ordering (we could see the driver had to sit at the restaurant for an extended period) and we were missing and tortillas for fajitas and only got the ingredients. I've been coming to this place for years. I've always enjoyed their food (fast and delicious). Either they are under new management recently or their staff are not properly trained in maintaining a clean environment such as washing hands, cooking/separating meat that's cooked/uncooked. I suspected my meal to be undercooked after I had already eaten half of it and shared it with my daughter. Was too late to do anything. I thought the red in the meat was a mixture of salsa or seasoning. I was very wrong. The following morning my two year old daughter and I woke up vommitting with chills, slight fever, and sever abdominal pain. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for under cooked meat if I ever do return. read more

today ended a 6 year ,12 day, 12 hour and 18 minute streak of not one drop of alcohol in my body. TRUE STORY AHEAD!!! i went to this restaurant and ordered an iced tea. it arrived at the table, and being quite thirsty i started drinking it. around the fifth hard pull from the straw, it occured to me that it was a long island iced tea!  i thought "really!?! 6 years ends on someone else's fault!?!" i was initially somewhere between pissed off and willing to laugh it off as an honest mistake, but my willingness to laugh it off quickly turned to anger and disappointment. when i explained to the waiter what had happened, his initial reaction was annoyance that he had to get me another drink, followed by he and the bartender chuckling in my direction.  no apology, no offer to pay for my tea or my meal (not that i would have accepted)... nothing.  a simple "sorry" would likely have turned it into a laughing matter. that was the maddening part, after explaining that i hadnt had a drink in 6 years, NO MERE APOLOGY!  that waiter, bartender and restaurant have earned my condemnation.  BECAUSE... what if i was someone who truly struggled, who had been through programs and was the type whom one sip takes them back?  what if i was somone looking for that one taste, that one excuse to throw it all away but battling everyday to keep from dying?  the waiter and bartender not only didnt even care, but thought it was frustrating or funny!!! i am one of the lucky ones because for me its been a choice outside of life or death, but it's not easy staying alcohol free. it's harder when it is shown that the world doesnt give a crap that you are trying to make yourself a better person or trying to stay alive like many people are.  whatever your situation, if you are strong enough to be sober, my admiration and prayers are with you. stay strong. your reason may be different, but you are not alone.  GOD IS GOOD. read more

Hated it! Ordered the chimichangas which are a favorite of mine and I was so let down! Shredded beef might as well have been brown zip ties, couldn't chew them to save m life. Tortilla was so hard I couldn't cut it with my fork, literally had to use a knife, after 3 bites I was done. When I asked the waiter to take it back because I wasn't satisfied ( nicely I might ad ) he was very rude, no apology, didn't take it off my bill, nothing. Will never return. read more
