Their waterpark is only open from 11 AM to 7 PM when basically every other waterpark that I've ever been to is open at least 12 hours a day. When the waterpark is closed, there is nothing else available in this place. Food is almost impossible to come by and if you do, you will wait an incredibly long time. The waterpark is small and crowded. Almost all the restaurants are closed until five if they open at all. Our room which was over $400 a night was not what I expected in the bathroom looked like something that you would see in a prison with the drain in the middle of the floor of the bathroom no designated shower or bath area it's just a shower curtain which had molded all over the bottom of it, over a tile floor. Our garbage had someone else else's tissues in it and our shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all empty. This made me wonder what we waited till 5 o'clock for because checkout is at 11 and check-in is at four. That's five hours for their staff to clean the rooms. I think that that is enough time if you were properly staffed which they are far from. It was the worst resort waterpark I've ever seen or been to. The manager, sabrina is elusive. I asked for her when Daniel was at the front desk when we were trying to figure out when our room was going to be ready and he couldn't find her and then the next morning I called down and got Sabrina on the phone, but she put me on hold for forcing me to go downstairs and then wait for her yet again. This place is so poorly managed. The only good thing I can say is that the employees were nice. And I think that that says a lot because they're constantly hearing how horrible this place is and they all know it. This was also the most expensive waterpark we've ever been to. Please save your money. This place is an absolute rip off, and you will be sadly disappointed.

That said, the reason I booked this place is that it's 15 minutes' walk from the bus and it was half the price of the other available hotel. If I ever return to Monticello, I'll stay at the more expensive hotel. It's got to be better than this place. The room doors are wide open to the street, so any bugs or rodents (or people) can get in. The doors don't seal shut, so even with the door closed, you're going to get flies, moths, mosquitoes, etc. I was hoping the wet floor and open door meant that they had just cleaned my room, but it didn't dry overnight, so I'm guessing the water is coming from below? Or maybe it's that there's not enough ventilation to dry the floor? The tub was missing its finish, there's no way I'd stand in that. Some of the power outlets and one of the light switches worked. The bed linens were stained and had actual holes in them. The wifi worked weakly some of the time. All in all, I felt uncomfortable in the room, and I didn't feel safe leaving the room. I wish I'd thought to check Google or Yelp reviews before booking instead of just relying on the happy Expedia people. What room did all of those 10/10 people stay in?? The one star I'm giving them is partly because I requested a fridge and they brought it to me and it worked (once I plugged it into a working outlet)! It did leak all over the floor. Also because they generously allowed me to leave my suitcase in the room next to reception until I could check in to the place I was staying the next night. All in all, I cannot in good faith recommend staying here.

Went to have a bite to eat at El Gatos and then walked around the casino for a bit. We came back at 3:45 to a line out of the hotel front door to check in and one employee checking in guests. We finally got to check in after 4. Went up to room which was not very clean, no laundry bag, etc but we were in a rush to shower and get to the show. When we got back, I informed the guy front desk that the bathroom was not cleaned well. He said they'd put a note in the system. Next morning at check out I spoke to the girl at the front desk of the room and the vomit on the 4th floor in the hallway and it looked like someone tried to clean it up; but it still smelled and there was still remnants of it. She apologized and said someone would call. A few days later someone left a VM on my husband's phone that they would credit us the $25 resort fee. I didn't think that was acceptable, so I called back and spoke to Libby who was very nice. She said she would have another manager call me back, but over a week later, no one has called back. Pretty disappointing experience.

The people staffing the windows are reasonably courteous. And here's the really great thing about this bus station: they take credit cards! No kidding. The Short Line terminal at the Port Authority is strictly cash. Want a schedule? They'll give you one, no questions asked. There are places to sit down, inside and outside. Is it well lit outside? No. Would I hang out at this place just for laughs? No. It's a bus station. You get in and get out. It serves that purpose.

True to his word, we booked the car in the morning and he gave me a very competitive rate. Didn't tack on last minute fees. Done, texted confirmation number. Gave me name of my driver, Allison, who touched base 5 min later with her cell number. Super prompt, funny and friendly, riding with Allison was a pleasure. A key thing to note: take your cues from the client. She didn't start chatting until I did. I'm from New Orleans and work in the hospitality industry there, handling conventions with 10,000-30,000 in attendance. I book about 250 private car service for clients a year. There are a few key things that are expected from a private car service that are unbendable: reliability, communication, cleanliness and polite manners in drivers, who understand it's not about them it's about the client. Likewise from a client: tip the driver and tip in cash. If you get good service, show it by tipping more than 20% of the fare.
