I haven't been to the Rosemont Theater in forever, but I do recall it always being a positive experience. Parking?: Decently priced and close to the entrance Security?: Present enough to make you feel safe. The process for checking bags and being [metal detector] wanded was smooth. Merch?: Conveniently located in the main lobby, well displayed, and smooth to make a purchase. I had eaten dinner prior to arriving, but the concession stand looked to have decently priced snacks. The theater looks a little um, retro(?), but it was a gift to be in a beautiful theatre over a giant sports stadium. The sound quality was great, the seats were comfortable, and I could see Charlie very well, even if I chose to sit during a slower song due to the staggered, stadium seating. Traffic on the way there was a little slow due to a concert at Allstate Arena, the Chicago Dogs home opener, and Anime Central, but that was on me to be responsible and leave at an appropriate time. I had looked up the set list on SetlistFM so I knew there was no encore. As soon as that last note of "Changes" rang out into the air, I was a cloud of myself as I briskly walked to the car to get out of the parking lot, haha. What a joy to enjoy a concert and be back on my own driveway in 23 minutes!

Parking here can be a mess. We left home 2 hours before our show and were so glad we did. The drive from Chicago's West Town area and waiting for parking alone, took us over an hour. Once in the parking lot, we were fortunate to get a spot around the corner from the main entrance. Expect to wait in a long line for concessions, coat check, and the ladies restroom. Prices for drinks and snacks are what you would expect. However, the mixed drinks we purchased were definitely worth the price we paid. Our server at the bar had a "heavy hand" so there was plenty of spirits in the drinks. Definitely appoint a designated driver. Seats are comfy here and the inside of the theatre gets warm. But plan to sit very close to strangers if you don't have an aisle seat. I like the intimate setting of this theatre. Views from row E were fabulous. Being an amateur musician myself, I would say the only critique I have is that at times the instruments sounded louder than vocals, so it made it hard to hear the soloists at times. In all, a December concert here was a beautiful experience and a great way to kick off the holidays!

Table 12 for the win!…read more I was in Rosemont for a work trip, which usually means dull dinners, early nights and generally a bit Puritanical. Since we were in Chicago, I took my boss and coworker to the Tiki TIki next door for a shot of Malort. It's Chicago, after all. 1 shot became 2, 2 became 4, and before I knew it, the bartender was ushering us through the swinging door into Pete's once they opened. Fun fact: we were the first ones in and also shut the bar down. From the moment the pianists started, it was clear this place was on point. Even them doing introductions and giving the ground rules was done musically. All four singers were wicked talented, and rotated in and out through the night. On occasion, they came together and became a full on quartet playing instruments other than pianos. Vocals were amazing, the energy in the place was such that I didn't even realize the time until they did last call and the lights came up. The layout of Pete's lends itself to entertainment. Regardless of what table you are at, you have a great view of the stage and no one has their back to the performance. The atmosphere is covered with fun and bright signs all over and despite being a larger place, it feels intimate when your song is played and everyone sings along. The table service was also great. She never hovered, but we also never lacked a drink. The next best thing about this place, after the performers, is the level of crowd interaction. There were folks singing along to every single song, and at times it was the whole bar. A couple of times during the night, folks were running around the bar riding a horse's head (or maybe a unicorn) on a stick. Somehow, it all just made sense. Pete's turned what could have been another boring end of a work trip sitting in the hotel into a night full of laughs, shots, and having a hoarse voice for days.

The experience is in the name; 2 guys and a small band pick songs to play and the audience really sings out loud (and really loud sometimes). I knew some of the songs so I could sing along. The inside is very big, accommodates a lot of guests, seating is everywhere, huge bar, and I loved all the cute/funny decor everywhere.

The way that the whole park is set up is really cool. Imagine a football field in the center of it all, then all around that football field is a mixture of restaurants and bars that turn into dance clubs after dark when the kids are in bed. There is even a bowling alley called Kingpin. The restaurants found there offer different menus, and I'm sure that even for a picky eater, you'll find something for you. Adobe Gillas is catered towards Mexican food, the Sugar Factory offers American food with awesome dessert options, and the Hoffbraus is a German bar. Keep in mind that most of the bars here offer those GIGANTIC fish bowl drinks of liquor! Yes! Remember that football field I mentioned above? Well during the summer, it is a grassy field that you and the kids can choose to run around on, and during the winter, it turns into an ice skating rink! I believe admission is free and you can either bring your own skates or rent some there. Aside from all that I just mentioned, there's a comedy club located here as well. During the summer and the winter months, there are always some type of fun family oriented activities and events going on. Parking is usually free when I go and they have their own parking garage. But some dates may vary so definitely check their website to make sure. Definitely check out this awesome establishment! Oh and there is an outlet mall right across the street! :)

Sure, there's a two ITEM minimum. Get the pretzel and a drink, or two drinks, or whatever, I don't care what you get. You're there to laugh. The servers are attentive and the seating is comfortable (despite being a bit crammed in). The warm ups have been great. They are very interactive with lots of crowd work. They validate your parking and offer you two free passes if you can show them that you follow them on Instagram. So, free parking and free passes. Seems like a great night out to me. And you get to see some awesome comedy. My only detraction is that you're packed in like sardines, so go early and find a place where you won't feel too packed in. And they let you meet the headliners afterward. I love Zanies in Rosemont!

For comparison sake, I really liked the intimacy, vibe and look of nearby Rosemont Theatre for a smaller concert. There are plenty of local restaurants to dine at before a show. However, be prepared to wait in long restaurant and traffic lines to get in and park or exit a concert. Patience will definitely be needed. If you are using shared ride or getting picked up, walk to nearby Target or Ross Stores and get dropped off or picked up there instead. Although it was a Summer night, I am glad I opted for gym shoes vs. sandals, as the much used bathrooms had wet, disgusting floors and the Ladies room layout is very strange. There are two hallways of stalls but you have to walk back towards to stalls to use the hand dryers. Definitely not a well designed layout. But closed toe shoes are a must, in my opinion. For a concert (we saw Styx and Chicago) you can hear and see pretty well from section 101, Row H. Stairs can be challenging to navigate without a railing but ushers help light the stairs if it is dark. I have bad knees so I took the stairs very slow, so as not to trip...or spill my expensive drink either!
