Are they trust worthy and do they over charge compared to market value? Well we have been shopping around for our daughters first car and her dream vehicle happened to be at Hamsmith Auto! A new Ford Bronco!! I can say that Hamsmith Auto Group went above and beyond my expectations and got us in my daughters dream vehicle for a very fair price! I know because we have searched online and pretty much everywhere for a Bronco! If you're like us when you walk around most dealerships, you dread that salesman speed walking towards you because at that moment you're just there to look and not be hassled! At Hamsmith's dealership it was so different, the owner approached us like a next door neighbor inviting you to a barbecue! They do have sales guys but they all put out that same vibe!! Very chill!! There is another big dealership here in Lubbock that if it weren't for one sales guy that I've bought from multiple times, I wouldn't go there ever because they have 10 salesman you have to walk thru to get inside and all starring me and my wife down like a pack of wild dogs! Anyways long story short, Hamsmith Auto Group just became a new favorite!!

WILL NEVER GIVE THIS DEALERSHIP MY BUSINESS and will urge my associates not to either…read more Its always ironic that life throws out little tests for you. Sometimes you pass, sometimes you fail, but it should always be a lesson to be better. To the moral of this statement.... I was in the market for a newer car, since my current car was about 10 years old, and I felt I deserved an upgrade. I searched around and found a few SUV's that I liked and went on the main Gene Messer website, which paired me with a salesman at their toyota location and we got in touch via email and text. I looked over their inventory and did not see anything I liked but saw one at one of their Sister Dealerships and the salesman told me "If there is a car/truck we have that you want, I can get it." I believed him. So I asked him to try to get that vehicle and I would come in for a test drive. Since this convo happened late Saturday, he said he would call the Sister dealership on Monday morning and have them bring the truck over. Monday comes.....he says he is working on it, but tells me to just come on out anyways and it should be handled by the time I get there. I figured it could not hurt, since I was already in that area, so I go. He sits with me for a few minutes, we make small talk and he keeps trying to show me other vehicles. I turn those down. He proceeds to tell me everything that is bad about my trade in and then gives me a low ball offer. I was not even concerned about my trade in because I had a large down payment. But then tells me the truck I wanted already sold. OK. So I get my keys and leave. I head to another dealership, where they not only give me 2500 more on my trade in, but also found another of the truck wanted with no issue. That salesman did his job and called around until he found it for me. Insanely enough, the original truck I wanted DID NOT ACTUALLY SELL. I had a friend call the dealership where it was and they said they still had it, and asked if my friend wanted to come in for a test drive that day. Nice, so my original salesman lied to my face, clearly did not want to work that day, and basically lost about $80,000+ in sales. How is that you ask? Well, I was seeing how my personal transaction would go, and if I came out happy, I would buy a fleet of about 4 or 5 trucks and a van for my company. Nice one Gene Messer Toyota. So, looks like they failed this test, and lost a potential repeat customer.

Then more issues with the vehicle a year later happen. Started Overheating, Alternator went out. Come to find out the Serpentine Belt snap that goes to the Water pump and alternator. So i then contact them and explained that i was having issues with coming up with payment that i was working toward also getting the car fixed. Which currently to fix the Alternator and get the serpentine belt and repair it the cost is roughly around $850. I then explain i did not have it to give me roughly another week to try and get that. Then they want to give me the run around say call our service department and pay them a fee to see what wrong with the car. Why would I pay a Diagnose Fee when I already know what wrong with it. Then I get a Text Message today from Virginia asking if i want to process the payment. I explained that am still working to get payment and try to get the car fixed. She then decide to be Rude. If your looking to buy a Car your best bet is to go to someone that has it to where Banks are the ones that finance for you as banks will work with you. Tejas Motors won't. After…read moreliving outside of Lubbock for over 15 years, for the most part in much bigger cities, I have grown quite accustomed to curling up in a ball and taking a beating mentally when gearing up to pay mechanics for work done on my vehicles. My heart sunk when I called a local mechanic shop that I grew up familiar with in Lubbock when they informed me that I would have to take my issue to the Honda dealership to get this specific issue resolved. The dealership?!?! I promptly went to my budget to see where the thousand dollar car repair I had in mind fit in. My phone call to Frank Brown started to put me at ease. Rather than hemming and hawing about what expensive services they likely needed to do to check things out and resolve the issue, based upon my layman's term description of what was going on, the customer service technician knew immediately what the issue was, was clear and to the point on what neded to be done and the likely cost and invited me to come take care of it. The team at Frank Brown is friendly and they work fast and effectively. The shuttle to and from work makes this a convenient task. Not only did I get them to resolve my issue, but they replaced my oil and windshield wipers and got me hooked up on my inspection report - a nice one-stop shop place to go. The real reason I am giving them five stars though, is that they put to rest my long-held notion that dealerships are not affordable alternatives. The oil change was on par with the oil change places in town and the issue I thought was going to be expensive was way less than I would have experienced in other parts of the country I have lived. The labor charges seemed far less than other places that I have seen. Finally, they ran an Airbag diagnostics due to an indicator that I had on free of charge.

I bought a car from here a while ago after doing extensive research on a specific car in their lot…read more I was promised several things that never came to fruition. I was told that several maintenance items have definitely been done and was told I would receive proof but then after asking for absolutely any kind of proof during signing the salesman fumbled and got very upset that I asked for proof, they said they did the work but could not prove it. I asked about items that I knew were due (timing belt after 7 years) and the salesman continued to confirm with me that it was after 10 years even after I asked several times saying I researched it online and viewing the suggested maintenance in the handbook for the vehicle. I also had an additional salesman come in later in the negotiation for the vehicle asking what it would take for me to sign for the vehicle then and after I bit of thinking I came back with a number that I could reasonably afford and they were upset that I I would counter their offer. They have just as much ability to just say no to my offer as I do theirs so there is no reason for them to lose their temper or make any insults towards me or my previous vehicle. They might have quality vehicles but I can not say the same for the people so just be sure to do your own research and trust very little of what they say because at the end of the day they do not care about you as much as they do your commission. Finally my last complaint is with the service department which I'm not completely is warranted. Online it is highly suggested to have an entire kit done for the timing belt whereas after asking their technicians it was suggested to only get the timing belt and nothing else looked at. I feel like this is a pretty risky option especially since something like a water pump costs an extra 100$ and could be changed easily during a timing belt replacement and is typically suggested. I just suggest being careful and looking at other options before committing to a business that is intending on you returning as soon as possible.

Everything seemed up to date and they are required to show the vehicle driving in a video. Besides the broken bumper and cosmetic damage. I didn't think it was a bad car. After winning the bid and contacting the seller, David Miller, to set up a pick up date. He told me the vehicle was running "hot" when they drove it to get it registered. I asked if the a/c was broken and didn't understand what he was saying because it was very vague. I told him I was coming from 5 hours away. He said he recommended getting it towed. That's all he said. What the hell?? After bringing my family of 5 to Lubbock to pick up this over heating vehicle. David Miller was nowhere to be found. How convenient. Instead a lady who could barely give me any eye contact made me sign 10 pieces of paper saying I wouldn't sue them in court plus the title stuff and this is without actually even seeing the vehicle first. Obviously something was amiss. We realized it was a lot worse than they said when she finally took us to it. It wouldn't even start, and when we jumped it, smoke was coming out of the engine immediately. We could barely load it up onto our trailer without worrying if it would blow up. After getting it to my local auto shop, the bad news came, which I figured with the treatment I received. The whole gasket blew up, very recently too which cracked the engine because somebody kept driving it. So I'm not sure if I actually bought a decent car and they messed it up the three weeks they had it, or if I just got totally screwed from the get go. Obviously I signed a contract that I wouldn't sue them (which I take full responsibility for, I should've waited to do the paperwork before I got to the vehicle). I have sent two e-mails asking for any options I might have and have yet to receive a response back. Duh to me. All in all, DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE HERE. They are the perfect example of an untrustworthy, money grubbing, very shady car dealership that does not care about hard working Americans trying to get by. There's $5,000 that I will never get back. I hope they can sleep at night knowing they steal from their customers.
