We stopped in on a Sunday for a few drinks. They had a good selection of beer I really enjoyed their English ale. The bartender was great they were closing shortly and he recommended our next stop and where to go for food. (8/24/24) The beer was solid, but nothing crazy (the stout - "Mistopheles" - was the best of what I had). The location is small, and doesn't look like much from the outside, but it was still comfortable inside. I appreciated the couch option (very comfortable); it was a much nicer location to sit and read, than just a table or the bar. The staff was very friendly as well. read more

Love Moo-Duck. What an awesome, cozy brewery to have in E-town. Their live music is top-tier, beers are always fabulous, staff is always smiling and ready to help, owners couldn't be nicer...always a good time here. Warmer weather tends to make this place a little cooler as the garage door pops open and seems like more of a chill vibe. And can't forget the "kiddie korner" when you walk-in--a great distraction for the kiddos to keep busy whilst mom and dad get it in. Solid delicious beers. Fun environment. Friendly service. Easy to recommend. I went to Moo-Duck with my boyfriend and some friends we were visiting who live nearby. We visited several breweries around the area. We weren't sure what to expect at Moo-Duck. We also didn't know if we would come across a young crowd since it is a college town. The place was busy and there was a pretty diverse crowd and everyone was having a good time. We ordered a flight. We had The Remedy (American wheat with honey and chamomile), Love (Belgian strong with brown sugar and cherries), Big Beard 2.0 (a Belgian quad) and Oak Aged My Toes Are Cold (with coffee and vanilla). All of the beers were solid. The Remedy was unique and well balanced. My favorite was Big Beard 2.0. I love that they had such a wide variety on tap. We also shared some pretzels with cheese, always great with beer. They had board games and live music. There also was a mini disc golf in the back. Overall a great experience. read more

I was waiting at the Elizabethtown Amtrak station for my husband to return from Philly and as I sat there I saw this Brewery literally across the street. I texted him and said, "I'll be over there meet me at the bar" So off I went. The place was cozy and decorated nice for the holidays and they had a huge beer menu on the blackboard. It was pretty big I thought so it would be a great place to hang with friends and it looks like they often have live music. You seat yourself and order the food at the bar. I just sat at the bar and was greeted with a couple of bartenders and a food and drink menu. The menu was basic but they pride themselves on being a local menu and there were plenty of options that enticed me. I decided on nachos to share and I got them with cheese, jalapenos, and their house made chili which was phenomenal. I'm still thinking about them they were soooo good. The chili was kind of sweet like a bbq bean and it had chunks of meat. So yummy. I tried their wheat beer and it was perfect. No real bite to it, no bitterness, perfectly smooth. Wow. My husband had their dark sour which he enjoyed. I tried it and thought it was good but I like a lighter sour. We were going to try some other food items but we had to be on our way to do some Christmas shopping but I really think this place is excellent based on our short experience there and we will return! read more

As soon as we walked in we knew what to do and didn't feel awkward. We Ordered our food and drink at the bar. My husband enjoyed the chili nachos and I had the chopped cheeseburger. Both were delicious!! I do not like IPA's but my husband enjoyed the Hoppy Toad. I enjoyed the Purple Carp and Big Sit beer. We got a sampler which is 4 beers of our choice, then ordered what we liked the best. The sizes of the beer is 5, 12, 16, 32 and 64 oz. Scott Palmer was a one man and played music for 60s, 70s, 80s, current, as well as his own music. He gets and A+ from us!! read more

Came here while visiting some friends in Elizabethtown. Small place but very nice. Wasn't very busy for a Saturday night. The live music was good. We walked there so I couldn't comment on their parking availability, I don't remember seeing a parking lot but street parking didn't look difficult. The only thing I could complain about was the beer selection. I am used to WNY breweries that carry all sorts of beers from all sorts of other local breweries in addition to however many of the House mixes they carry. Moo-Duck only has their own beers, which is fine, but you have to know what you like or be willing to try a few things to find your own sweet spot. I enjoyed the 409 and a porter. We had a great time here and enjoyed both the food and beers. read more

Come one; come all to the Moo- Duck Brewery!! As I sit here on a sofa at this stellar local spot, I cannot recommend enough the Support Local Platter & the Bacon Wrapped Pickels!! I'm not even a pickle lover, but the chipotle aioli dipping sauce is to die for. In fact, I was dipping my savory warm Dutch Country jumbo pretzel from the local platter in it too....but if your prefer mustard with your pretzel.... Try the horseradish mustard. Either way, you will experience a taste bud, happy dance explosion in your mouth. Heck, I'm not even a pretzel lover, but this combo was like no other. And the cheese.... Whoa! The local platter came with a local cheese called "Down on the Ranch" Cheddar by a local company named Jubilee Heritage Cheese. There is no doubt that we are heading to a local market to bring some of this cheese back to NJ !!! Oh, yeah? The BEER. I had the Mistopheles Imperial Stout. Yummy! It's not always easy to find a stout in the summer at local microbreweries, let alone a stout this rich & tasty, but Moo-Duck Brewery has mastered their craft. Come one; come all !!! read more

Love this place. It's right by the Elizabethtown train station, so you could take the train from Lancaster or Harrisburg, and have Amtrak drive you. (Etown, has also built a walking path that is .6 miles (10 minute walk) that conveniently stops at Funk Brewing in downtown Elizabethtown. How perfect is that?) The beer is just outstanding here. Mike, the brewer is passionate about what he produces, and he's a little bit of a tinkerer with his creativity. Bonus of this place, is that the guy who pours your beer, might be the guy who brewed it! Ask him what he did, and you'll get a well communicated, but not overly complicated answer/lesson. Again, how perfect is that? The beer is excellent, but it's light fare food that is locally sourced. My suggestion is the chili. It's an award winning chili that Mike's brother created. Very good. Cool place, mellow, no ferns, always great background music, and good people enjoying one of Moo-Duck's latest creations. Hard to beat! read more

Decided to stop and check out their beers after hearing some positive things. While I was not blown away by the quality the options were quite solid and they had excellent variety. Staff was friendly but did seem more content to chat with regulars than to hurry over and take our orders. My biggest complaint, and one I did not feel was worth dinging them on, was the food. From the pictures I thought there would be food options besides a food truck. This could have just been poor research on my end but I wanted to note it for others. There is also only one bathroom which seemed okay at the time I was there but I heard other patrons complain. I'll admit that the name drew me in, as I'm a fan of all things weird/surrealistic (not to mention I enjoy sampling craft beer). So I scheduled a couple brewery trips for a Friday afternoon, and put this place at the top of my list. My GPS (app on my iPhone) brought me into a parking lot near a train station and told me I was at the destination. If you end up there, just keep driving through the lot until you see Moo-Duck on your front-left, across the street. After you walk up a small ramp in front of the building, you enter a drab, concrete room with a smattering of tables throughout and an average-sized bar (15 seats maybe?) on the left. A sign listing beer and food options also sits just to the left of the bar on the wall. If there were decorations on the walls, I don't remember them. My buddy and I took a seat at the bar and each ordered a flight of four for (I think) $8. They had nine beers on tap, eight flagships and a small batch called "Orange Toad." There wasn't a single dark beer on the list, and when I asked why that was, the bartender told me they'd just ran out of their only dark (a stout) a day or two earlier. Still...no darks? Not cool. Their food menu was small, and I decided to wait until we left to find something else to eat. My buddy grabbed the sausage sandwich and said it was good, especially with the spicy ketchup. The main reason I was there was for the beer, and I found their options to be very hit-or-miss. Their IPAs -- particularly the Big Bru and the Summertime IPA -- were the best of the bunch. Most of the rest were on the "drinkable, but wouldn't get again" scale (a 3.5 rating on Untappd, for any Untappd nerds like myself), with the rest falling below that (coming in pretty weak/watery/unmemorable). Service was fine. Nobody was overly-friendly, but nobody was mean either. You got conversation out of the bartenders, provided you were the one initiating. Their merchandise is cool, and I love the logo. Had the beer been better, I would have bought a shirt. As it was, I decided to save my money for another place. This place is probably worth a visit if you enjoy visiting all the local/central Pennsylvania breweries. But, for me, I'm not sure I'll go out of my way to visit again. My first experience at Moo Duck on Thursday was great. I had a flight of the beers to try as many as I could. The beers were interesting and tasty. The menu is simple but has what I want with beer. My wife and I stopped in to Moo Duck on a whim while in the area yesterday and I'm glad we did. It's a cool little spot, nice decor and friendly staff. We got a flight so we could sample all of their beer (8 different ones), some we liked, some we could pass on but that's how you know. We also ordered the cheese and salsa chips. Best salsa I've ever had, fresh and full of flavor! And their cupcakes...delicious! All of their food is either made there or made for them from a local business which is really cool. Their prices aren't bad, I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

Hands down this is one of my favorite craft breweries. Servers are always nice. Samples are offered readily. They've made great use out of a limited space. Their beer selection is always changing while keeping their core beers always available. The food selection is limited but let's be honest, we're here for the brew. I would love to have a great place to eat in Elizabethtown but this certainly is not it & the beer is barely adequate. The setting is bad and there is no ambience but that could be okay if the food and or beer was good and or inexpensive but they are neither. We had 3 different beers. All were basically flat with no head. Two were drinkable the other was not. Menu is short which would be ok if food was good but it is not and it is expensive for what you get. I got meat and cheese which consisted of a styrofoam bowl with about 3 1/2 inch squares of a bland cheese, 1 1/2 inch square of sweet bologna (which was good) and 4 1/2 inch squares of something like mortadella I assume which were edible but not good. Lots of hard pretzels came with it as did a peppery sauce . I went home hungry . Others got the chili also in the styrofoam bowls with nothing in top and it was okay but too sweet . They also had a hot dog and sausage sandwiches which were simply on a holsom bread roll or similar . Edible but not good. Each couple's bill was about $20 which seemed like highway robbery. All served in plastic baskets and on plastic trays . I would feel bad for them but it seems like they aren't even trying and I feel like I was robbed . Don't waste your time or $. Sorry . Can someone please open a great restaurant in this nice town ! read more

The beer was good! I had "I am a Farmer..." which was a bitter beer and my friend had "The Remedy" that was a light wheat beer. The reason I am giving it two stars is the service. There were 7 customers (including my friend and I) with 3 bartenders, all at the bar. It was our first time there. I will be moving to the area soon and wanted to check out some places to hangout. The bartenders tended to the regulars at the bar but barely paid attention to us. What irritated me the most was that they asked if we wanted a menu for food and were waiting and tried to get the bartenders attention (they were too busy talking) for over 20 minutes. I love this place. The people are fantastic, and the clientele are real beer drinkers and aficionados. I've had beers at dozens of microbreweries, and the beer at Moo-Duck is the best I've ever tasted, whether it be King Slava's Russian Imperial Stout, the seasonal Moo-Duck Love, or a raft of others. I don't love every beer here (the honey-basil blonde is too medicinal for my taste) but I'd say I *really* like 80% of the different beers, and they're always changing, with amazing small batches. The price of the beer is cheaper than any other microbrewery I've been too, and the taste is better and fresher. The food is limited, but very good bar food, with the cheese-chili dog and the pizza paninni my favorites. Growler prices are also very reasonable. I can only figure that the people who have knocked their beers on Yelp are either Bud Light fans, or else tried a style of beer that didn't suit them. You're not going to get better or fresher beer -- and the physical aspects of the place are like being invited into the best homebrewer's private taproom. This place is the real deal. read more

Not the easiest place to find, but worth the effort. No I did not try the food, but the beer is banging. If you are a fan on micro breweries, check this place out, they are doing something right. I believe I had the Hoppy Toad. Highly recommend it. read more
