I feel like this place is hit or miss. We came the first time and thought it was great came back and it was ok at best we have come back a few more times and sometimes it great and sometimes it misses the mark. The meatballs are a little mushy and sometimes the cheesesteak is great and sometimes it's dry and blah. I would say try it but just be aware it is kind of pricy for what you get. The service here is also hit or miss sometimes they are so friendly and helpful and sometimes they are kind of rude and I feel like I'm in their way. I don't ever do this (which I guess breaks that record as I am doing it), but just found my experience at this Moochie's quite irritating. The lady that served me was nice, and I've always loved Moochies, but for whatever reason this time when I got my delicious sandwich to go and asked for 6 sauces, which I've done every time I've ever been there, a different lady took a look at me, paused, and then said, "I can give you 2, but I'll have to charge you for the other 4." Meanwhile, the patrons that sit inside can "have at it" with the Jumpin' Jalapeno Sauce (which is one of the differences that make this place great). Granted, maybe I should have paid, but it was just upsetting as I had chosen to tip too, which I regretted and always wanted to say "hey, take the tip I gave you to pay for those sauces. Maybe I'm being a bit dramatic here, but I haven't even sat down to eat my sandwich because of this. I won't be going back, and I will definitely be telling my friends about this. The food is still good, minus that they seem to use less meat on their Philly cheesesteaks, but I'm not sure of the logic or charged someone for extra sauces when you let them pour away at bottles if you sit inside. Just wanted to air my grievances on that one as it will definitely ruin my sandwich as two sauces just ain't enough. read more

This is one of my favorite sandwich shops in the SLC area. They're typically pricier than my other faves, but It doesn't detour me from stopping in every now and then. We had an ah-okay moment here. The philly cheese steak was runnier than I thought it should be, sauce was dropping out of my sandwiches when I held it vertically. It tasted fine though. The fry sauce was too heavy so to me it's not quite hitting it. The meatball subs were just messy. It also tasted fine but I wonder if it takes one to suck all fingers after finishing this to really say they finish it. We drive by this location all the time and finally decided to give it a try. My wife and I both got philly cheese steak sandwiches. We both thought they were good overall but they were a bit dry. Perhaps as they are frying the meat they need to moisten the meat with beef broth. OR perhaps serve a cup of Au Jus for dipping. The fried ravioli was good but it was not delivered with my order and I had to ask two times for the ravioli. The employees were nice and helpful. They need to fix some potholes in they're parking lot. To be fair we will go back sometime and try other food items. The meatballs look great. read more

Mooches is always money. Regardless of the location we have always has a great experience. We come for the Meatball Sub. The meatballs are always great and the marinara makes for a great bite. It is very messy. My wife tries to talk me into getting them to go so she can eat without concern of any onlookers. The marinara is great and you could but it on almost anything. We saw they are trying to put it on a salad. Huh . . . interesting. The Philly is always good but there might be better Phillys in the valley. I never complain though. We were craving a mean sammy on a Sunday afternoon (which means slim pickins due to the religious closures). We've had Moochie's on our to-do since hearing that they have the best voted sandwiches in Utah (and yeaah, the whole Guy Fieri thing). We ordered a 12" Meatball Sub ("Guy Fieri's fave) and a 12" Italian Deli with a side of Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. Clearly, our eyes were bigger than our guts that fated day! We picked everything up to go and drove 20+mins home. The Meatball Sub was a little cold when we got home, but I dove right into that messy thing. The first thing I said was, "Yeah, that's a good meatball". I actually think the Italian Deli was more of my fave of the two, but I was wanting some more fresh fixins (like lettuce, onion, tomato, etc.) -- so that's probably why. The Sweet Potato Waffle Fries + fry sauce were EXCELLENT. Fresh and crispy on the outside. 4 star rating because not the best meatball sub (or sandwich period) I've ever had, and it's pretty expensive to get those big ol' footlongs. Yeah, you'll get a big ole sandwich, with lots of meat, but it only tastes okay. The flavor must come from all the extras, that's why they provide plenty of them. The American cheese is melted throughout, which makes it difficult to open and put in all the fixins, like the various types of pepper and sauces. Considering how big my sammie was, this got frustrating. RE their seating area, they're almost always packed, so if you hava big bootay, like myself, I'd definitely try and snag a seat on the ends, cuz there's limited moving space, in the middle. I gotta say though, their FRIES are what's up!!! Paired with their jalepeño sauce or their fry sauces, you shouldn't miss out on those!!! I'm so glad this location finally opened. If someone would ask me to take them to a place known to Utah, and also is an American dream, Moochie's would be the place. The sign for "coming soon" was not soon enough. I'm just glad it finally opened. Here is the thing...if you haven't tried moochies yet, well what are you waiting for?! And start off with the cheese steak. I'd say always take the jalapeño sauce! Always! The sandwich is gooey, cheesy and delicious. Sometimes it's just extra gooey. Cheese steak not your thing? Well the meatball is the next one to go to. It's money! Lol. They do have healthier options if you want that. Of all the sandwiches I've had over the last several years, this place has served up some of the meanest and gooiest and most bombastic of them all. The meatball is the money, I think. Having had a few more things on the menu, and having gone back to the cheesesteak, I don't think you can wrong with either, but I think the meatball really edges it out. Don't neglect the other things on the menu, though. You would be surprised at how good some of the chicken sandwiches are, and the Reuben will give you a good run for your money. Also, today the fries were really holding their own. They have a few sauces with peppers in them and that will kick any fry or sandwich up to a new level. And last (but for sure not least) I gotta give them big props for the Birch Beer and the Barq's Red Cream Soda at the fountain. I dunno what it is about both of those, but they hit the exact right spot alongside a big ol' messy sandwich. read more

Unique salt lake experience featured on Triple D. Really more of good take away place rather than dine in. We ordered online but they didn't start making food till we arrived. When there, we saw approx 7 Uber eats etc. ppl pick up food. We got cheesesteaks, rocket chicken; parm chicken, fries, onion rings, curds and more. Great bread on sandwiches and top quality ingredients. Everything tasted great. I suggest go for the 12 in sub; taste good even the next day if you couldn't finish it. I recommend getting the sauces-the regular fry sauce and the jalapeño as well. Only 4 stars only because it wasn't truly executional but pretty darn good. In town for work again and was told Moochies was the place to go for Philly cheesesteak. Since I was within 10 minutes i went. I got the cheesesteak that supposedly keeps getting them voted the best! I switched out American cheese for provolone. I can't stand American cheese just to processed tasting for me. Also had them add mushrooms and the final result was really good. The meat was tasty but the onions could have used a little more time on the grill. They were still kind of crunchy. The melted provolone and grilled mushrooms was great additions. Great food! I love the fried raviolis and meatball sandwich! They are usually quick and quality.

My husband raves about Moochies so we finally stopped in together for a quick lunch. I ordered the 6" Philly with mushrooms and swiss. The flavor was very good and I also added the Freakin' Fabulous Fry Sauce to the mix for an extra kick. There were a few other sauces to choose form if you want to go mild on the fry sauce or jump up to the jalepeno version. The size of the sandwich was plenty and I'm not sure I could eat the footlong. There appeared to be plenty of seating for that day's lunch crowd, and there was a steady stream of customers coming in. If I didn't have my husband there with me to point out all the tips and tricks, it may have taken me a bit to figure out that I "wanted" to add the sauce to my sandwich.
