The food varies from pizza, soft pretzels, and the worlds best Belgian fries in the world. (I won't tell you where they are) Explore the bbq tacos and more. Men's U.T. basketball games are packed full of excitement. Expect approximately 9-10 thousand fellow longhorns in a perfect indoor stadium. The concourse has a repeat of bar, restrooms and food court. It's designed to a "no waiting for anything" concept! The beverage section has a "grab it scan it and go concept" no more waiting in beer lines, it's all self serve and fast!! Great center to see a concert but consider alternatives for parking! It can get costly if you can find parking on the street, if not.....don't be like us and end up paying $65 to end up at a hotel parking lot for about 5 hours lol. I didn't see any ramps but am sure or hopeful they meet ADA for wheelchairs accessibility or just for the injured! The halls are very roomy once you reach your lobby to your seats. There were bars on each floor so don't be like us and assume it's the only bar and buy a few drinks before climbing stairs lol. Love the venue, there is really no bad seat as they all allow you to see the stage and performers very well. The facility is very clean. There is no ample parking as most of the parking lots and street spots are reserved for UT permits only. The garage that is close to the event center is only for those who prepaid. The attendant did not offer any assistance/suggestions for another garage. We ended up parking several blocks away, in a neighborhood, after circling the center for about 20 minutes. Brand new and absolutely gorgeous!! Saw Earth, Wind and Fire and had a great time!! From the wide open area to enter, to super fast security, amazing choices in drinks (tequila bar) and food(Stubbs and fried chicken), no long lines! Fast and efficient!! Our seats were in the back and were excellent, seriously not a bad seat in the house (maybe behind the stage would suck) but all the ones with people had a clear unobstructive view and no projection screens...because you don't need them!! You can see for yourself!! Seats are good sized, enough room for your legs, I wasn't touching the back of the seat in front of me!!! Driving to the theater is a little difficult, give yourself extra time and look for more than one parking garage!! On the back side is 35, try to go in that way!! My wife dragged me to see Pink. The performance was actually excellent I recommend going to see her. This review is for The Moody Center venue. They should be ashamed to charge $250 for EACH ticket for what they call "seats". Very tiny. They felt ok at first but after sitting in them for hours I was in pain in my knees and back to the point that I wasn't sure zi would be able to make the trek back to the parking garage several blocks away. I absolutely will do everything in my power to NEVER go there again. read more

We have been here several times, for events such as UFC fights as well as music concerts, and we have always had a blast! The venue is very clean & spacious, the staff is friendly & helpful, and the events overall are very well ran & organized (there is usually not a big line to make it through security). It was great until I received a cancer diagnosis and could no longer afford the membership. As a result of cancer, I have lymphedema and axillary web syndrome that are incurable and require ongoing therapy for the rest of my life. When I reached out to let them know that we had astronomical medical bills to Texas Oncology and St. David's Hospital, they refused to refund our membership that we paid for a year in advance. Saw Barry Manilow last night at Moody Center. Doors opened at 6pm for a 7pm start. So, a much older crowd waiting to get in the venue in 100+ degree temps out in the sun for extended periods. Saw one lady pass out from the heat waiting in line. The security was searching just about everyone slowing things down. It's got to be worse than security at the airport. Do better! For the cost of everything to attend, the moody center can do better. It is a very nice venue but there are some logistics that don't make it great. There is very limited parking since it is on the UT campus. If you want parking expect to get there early. I went and saw Chris Rock there. The show started about 30 minutes late since they had troubles getting everybody in at an efficient time. This venue is nice. It's big but not where you can get lost or anything like that. Parking was $37 at the nearest garage. The seating is very tight on the floor! Booze was overpriced as most venues are. ushers were nice. Finding seating was easy. The best thing about this place is the food! The options are awesome. We "heard" Band of Horses and The Black Keys and I'll never purchase concert tickets for the place again. The arena itself is new, clean, and easy to navigate. I give the Moody a three star for not caring. We stood in line for about 30 minutes and when we were entering the building we were told that my 10 inch x 10 inch purse was TOO BIG and told us we need to go to I had a very small purse and they to us we need go around the building and didn't tell us where to go. We got there early because it was our first time there. We would have enough time to find our way to our seats and purchase t-shirts. My husband is disabled and cannot walk properly with his metal in his foot , but the attendants didn't care. When we walked around the building we stopped at the first entrance and were told that we need to go to the next door. By the time we finally entered the building and found the place where they sell T-shirts 30 min went by. Ladies, if you bring a purse, bring something super small or you will need to endure what we had to after getting in line. Another thing that was chaotic was the ride share. We thought that the drop off location was the same as the pick up, but it wasn't. Be aware of the bicycle drivers that have the two seater in the back. They wanted to charge us $100 for driving 1.5 miles. Get your ride earlier to avoid price gauging. Other than that, the Moody center has a nice layout. The balconies are very relaxing. read more

1. The sound was ok. Not great. We could hear Kevin Hart ok but 2 of his warmup acts we couldn't understand at all. 2. Seat arrangement was absurd! I'd rather go to the Drum for a concert. At least you can get up to go to the bathroom without having to crawl over 15 people. 3. It was 100° outside & about 98.9° inside. Never cooled off during the entire concert. Really asinine considering this is summer in August in Texas. 4. Now monster jam was great but I got to say I was not impressed with the Moody center from what I had heard it was supposed to be bigger and better well I disagree the actual floor looked smaller the monster truck could hardly step in the gas and they new acoustic and sound really sounded bad so bad we could not even hear what the announcer were saying. The establishment was very clean and still had that new building shine to it. The pricing for beverages/ food were about the same at any other place holding an event (over priced). They have the option to do self check out at the little "markets" they had set up but was advised after purchasing my beverage that bottles were not allowed and we had to empty what was just purchased into a cup.... Didn't make sense to me but... ok I'll abide. The restrooms were clean and no wait wait which is always a plus. Now the issues that I did have would be the process of getting into the building. Maybe it was due to the big headliner (Kevin Hart) and everyone having to "check" our phones but I waited in line for a very long time (40+minutes). Plus side the show didn't start until everyone was in. My friend and I felt as if it was pretty warm inside. I thought I would have gotten cooled off before heading to our seats but it didn't really happen like that. Also the seating is a tight fit! And if anyone has to get up for any reason you will have to get up and cross your fingers that your toes don't get stepped on. I can't comment about the food but will be back for future events in hopes that it's a smoother process and to venture off and explore without rushing to my seat. read more

Sit in the section 109 Dell area since it's tickets only and they have all you want food and drink wise without having to go into the main crush of people. Getting out can be a bit tricky but the escalator gets you outside and then walk around the place. Overall Meh! It's a gorgeous venue but they don't treat you very well. POSITIVES: Gorgeous venue and sound system, went to see the eagles and the acoustics and visuals were amazing. We were on the second floor and it was still pretty enjoyable. NEGATIVES: Prices for water $5 and drinks $12 are ridiculous, but the most outrageous is they won't let ladies into the venue with small purses. They direct you to a locker truck where you pay $15 dollars to have your purse tossed into a large pile. It's a stupid system, I could have put all the purses into a large plastic backpack and entered so what is this supposed to prevent? I understand that you are preventing weapons from entering the venue but you should review this policy, everyone is already going thru the metal detectors go ahead and open up the purses and look in. There was many many ladies very upset they had to part with their handbags, pay $15 dollars just to have them tossed into a large pile in some truck. They won't let you outside once the concert starts, oh they have the balcony's and space to do it, but they decide not to. Lines for the bathroom during intermission were also insane and many people were rushing to their seats after intermission because they were stuck in the bathroom. Seats are pretty small and not very deep, you will be right up on top of the row in front of you and the people next to you. My entrance was seamless. It was almost as if I'd snuck in with ease, like a sleuth, using the shadows to my advantage. But it wasn't the shadows that overtook me, nay- it was the greatness of what I was apart of. Being inside such a glorious edifice, it was inevitable that this would be the night of my life. They basically rebuilt the Erwin Center with a few upgrades. The seats are small and uncomfortable and the structure is mostly concrete. The view of the stage is generally good, but very similar to the Erwin Center. The selection of food and drinks is great. I've only been to one show here so far (The Killers), but there was only one way out and it was down a singular escalator. Seems like a logistics nightmare if you had to leave quickly. Parking is extremely limited, and rideshare drop off will also be difficult, so I recommend parking in one of the state lots on the other side of MLK. read more

I have never encountered such rude and unprofessional behavior from an employee. My husband and I were trying to purchase tickets for the Hot Wheels Show for our two sons, one of whom is in a wheelchair. Our 11-year-old son has been eagerly wanting to attend this show, especially as he is going through chemotherapy and could really use the joy it would bring. While on the website, we were confused about the handicap seating options, so we called the provided number for clarification. The employee who answered the phone was immediately hostile. Before I could even ask my question, he told me to "never call this number again" and hung up on me. My husband then called to inquire about the handicap seating, and the same employee answered. When my husband tried to ask for more information, the employee abruptly stated that tickets started at $40 and then hung up on him as well--blocking our numbers afterward. I am truly shocked and appalled by this treatment. It is beyond me why such an individual would be handling customer service, especially if they clearly have no interest in helping people or providing basic service. How can a business maintain its reputation with employees like this? All we wanted was for our son to have the chance to enjoy a show during a very difficult time in his life. I sincerely hope that you address this situation, as no family should ever have to endure such a negative experience. read more

Hmmmmmmkay so the closet parking to this event space cost us $55 for one night...I'm sorry but I've been to other major cities downtown areas and haven't had to come close to paying that price especially for only a few hours of parking. I will say once we walked up towards the entrance another employee guided us towards a side entrance where there were no lines so we were granted access pretty quickly. Once inside we were directed to the quicker route to find our section which wasn't too far and close to restrooms. Now I will say the bathrooms were clean and plentiful. There were plenty of available options for food and drinks however the lines were long but moved steady. However the price for one beer and a drink were $30 please pregame and Uber prior to coming or hey drop the money lol I don't think my drink was worth the cost though it was a simple Jack and coke and resulted in mainly ice and coke. The beer had to be poured in a cup so you don't even get the entire can. I did like our seats because we were directly in front of the stage but the screens were a disappointment because they were not clear. They reminded me of the silly mirrors you see at a museum or circus that makes you appear taller with wiggly legs. I will be sure to prepare for parking if I decide to attend another event and will prob eat before or after due to not only the lines but prices. The Moody Center was a lovely experience and one I look forward to enjoying experiencing again. The facility itself is beautifully designed, aside from the aesthetics, which were stunning, the pedestrian traffic flow is genius. The concert we attended was nearly sold out, however, at no point did we feel crowded, rushed or bothered. Not sure who designed the Mood Center but they need to do more public facilities in Austin and Texas please! The selection of food/beverage provider were also incredible, it was so nice to see quality products offered and not the standard low quality, sugar filled carnival style food and drink providers typically offered. The seating was nicely done and well spaced. The only fly in the ointment is the sound, it needs tweaked. During the concert there were a few times it sounded off, almost as if it was bouncing off the back part of the wall that was parallel to the stage. It was weird at first and I wasn't sure what I was hearing but it was not good. It seem to improve as the show went on but it was noticeable at the start. Im sure they will be able to add some equipment to fix this sound issue so it is 5 stars from me, well don Moody Center very well done. read more

I've been looking forward to checking out this venue, and I finally got to when Kendrick Lamar performed recently. I was pretty impressed with it. Everything is fresh and new, and I was really happy with the food options. No lines were crazy long. The staff was really helpful with finding seating. The sound was really good and the view was awesome-- I was on the second level. I'm not sure how the rideshare drop off area works, we were dropped off in a weird spot, I didn't see any signs for it even thought Lyft had a specific spot on the GPS. We saw Billy Strings last night at Moody Center. It was my first time attending a show at the venue and I really enjoyed it. The setup feels kind of like an airport, with all the self serve drink stations. I also felt like there was a diverse selection of reasonably priced food options as well. The Moody staff was friendly, helpful and quick with their processes. We opted for the pit so we could be fully immersed in the show. I'm a cerebral type and need the smells along with all of the other sensory aspects working in unison, that's how I roll. Billy and his band of exceptional musicians took us on a 3 hour journey through a nonstop story of pure string induced hypnosis. They out performed the audience's expectations and left us all completely satisfied and exhausted to be frankly honest. We parked a few blocks down the street at the hospital. So, the cherry on top of the night was the $6.00 parking tab, best price in town. read more

I got to check out the Moody Center for a Kid Cudi concert. The venue itself is beautiful. It's clean and modern and the signs do a good job guiding you around the venue. Check in lines were super quick. There were no lines when we arrived to the venue right at 7 but passing the doors later into the night, there was quite a line. I'd recommend getting there sooner rather than later for events for this reason. They just had phone scanners to scan our tickets on our phones. Quick and simple! The biggest annoyance and frustration was if you order any drinks that come in a can or bottle, they pour them into another plastic cup. I'm sure they do this for safety reasons to some extent but honestly just blown away at the waste this produces. This is obviously not only this event center, this is an issue at most events, but I hadn't seen it done to this extreme before (e.g. bottle of water is poured into a plastic cup. Whereas most places just remove the bottle cap). read more

If you lose any personal items at this venue expect to go through hell, get ignored, and be treated like an unimportant idiot. If I could give them negative stars, I would. My phone fell out of my pocket mid concert and I was unable to find it again during the concert. It was an extremely full house and impossible to navigate, so I figured I would come back for it in the morning. Upon reflection, that was a stupid choice, but, hey, you learn. The important thing to note here is Find My iPhone noted my phone was at the moody center, and stayed there for over 24 hours past the event, with battery still, and did not move until it eventually I had to connect my phone to a new phone and it lost connection. I went first thing in the morning first thing after the event and was told essentially to go home because they don't even finish cleaning the venue until 48 hours after the event. I should have not listened to them, and demanded I be able to search the venue. I came back the next day and was again, not really meaningfully helped aside from "mmm yeah we don't have it and they haven't finished clearing out the venue". Despite them literally having an event that night. And me showing them my find my iPhone still pinging there. That day I received the "official" email saying they didn't find my phone. The next day I went in yet again because I just wanted to see if they would let me look for it. It shows it's there. They would not let me look, said "oh well we have events", etc. and went on a whole thing about how their cleaners are really good and then told me, but they will still look for it in the following events. I asked them if I could speak with the general manager -- they told me they would send them my info and have them reach out. Crickets, nada, nothing. Hear me out, I've been told throughout this whole process that they will still look for items after the initial 36 hours and it's likely I could still get it back. A few days later I emailed them to check in and see if they had found it. I included a picture that I had recently found. And I got an email back saying they didn't find my phone "as our team members verified for you last week.". As they verified for me last week? What?? You literally have been telling me this whole time that I should keep my hopes up because they might still find it at other events. So, why are you being rude to me about this for checking in on it?? I almost never write bad reviews. I cannot stress this enough that I am usually an incredibly forgiving customer as I have worked many times in customer service and I know it's miserable, but dear lord... I just can't with this. I will never, ever, ever see anyone at the Moody Center ever again. read more

If you attend an event here, consider arriving at least an hour before your event to find parking. This is a lovely place. It really is. It's a sad sad shame that you can't get to it. We were trying to get to Jurassic World tonight, and I don't know what's going on between this place and UT security, but they had every SINGLE entrance and ability to park here blocked off!! We missed over half the show because of this and literally sat down when intermission began. AND we drove two hours to get here. I will not waste my time coming here again for anything.
