If you are looking for a great night of music then grab tickets to the next show at the 04 Center! Tonight I was lucky enough to have first row seats to amazing storyteller BJ Barham. It was absolutely an incredible experience and I highly recommend you check out the upcoming shows. Here is a valuable tip - the Secret Sisters are playing in May so hurry up and order your tickets! The venue was very nice - it is a church so the acoustics are great! Ordering tickets was very easy - I always appreciate being able to add tickets to my apple wallet - that way sharing tickets with friends is easy and check in was super convenient. Security was extremely welcoming and vigilant throughout the entire show. Parking was free and very easy to navigate. I would recommend getting to the show when doors open to grab your seats (no assigned seats but VIP is the first 7 rows). Getting there a little early gives you enough time to check out the merch table and grab a drink. The bar staff were nice and open to our suggestions - they currently only sell Austin East Ciders and it would be great if they add the sour beers from Vacancy or St. Elmo's into the mix. Overall a wonderful venue for an intimate musical experience. Be sure to submit a survey on their website to share what artists you would like to see perform - you could win tickets to an upcoming show of your choice!

I forgot to check in while I was here, but I attended the Hulvey concert at 04 a few days ago. I had no idea this place existed, but it was a quick drive for me. I was a little worried about the parking situation but I got there 30 minutes before doors opened and was able to park in their lot (for free!) easily. The one con was that everyone has to line up outside before the show in the blazing sun. There is no shade. So I sat in my car until I saw that they had opened the doors to go inside. While I was waiting in line, Hulvey actually came out and interacted with everyone who was standing in line, which was pretty cool. Once I got inside, I scanned my ticket and then they had a merch station and a snack station. I didn't buy merch but I was thirsty so I headed to the snack line. They had lots of canned drinks for sale at a reasonable price - $4 each. They also had some small bags of chips for sale. There are two levels to the venue - Downstairs has chairs and then a pit area at the front, and chairs in the back. Most people sat in the chairs until the show started. I didn't go upstairs to see what the balcony situation was, but a lot of people with kids went up to that section. My con with this place was the lack of visuals - there were 4 tv screens in the main level, but the show was not projected on any of them. I am short, so while standing in the pit area I literally couldn't see the artist on stage. I couldn't see anything from the seats either. They could have broadcasted the show on the TVs so that everyone could enjoy the view. Leaving the parking lot was easy. No traffic and I was in my car and on my way home within 5 minutes of the concert ending. Overall a nice cozy venue but projecting the video on the screens would have made it a 10/10.

    The 04 Center . It's a church that's used for concerts . They even have a bar .

We had vip tickets too see The Last Bandoleros & Their opening act Lisa Morales & Nuevo . The o4 center is a very intimidate venue which I just loved . We had front row seats . Both bands where amazing . We drove from Converse ( San Antonio Area) too see The Last Bandoleros. They were just amazing . I love their Tex Flex style . Lisa Morales & Nuevo was an added bonus . The O4 center has a bar but the downside is that one Margarita cost $15.00 . Guy behind us added an extra shot & his margarita was $20.00 . I saved my money too buy The Last Bandoleros merchandise. I highly recommend attending this venue for music events just because it's so small & intimate. Seeing The Last Bandoleros was definitely worth the drive . Staff also was very friendly.

Great location next door to Matt's El Rancho S. Lamar. Terrific sound system. Great talent on stage. Plenty of free parking. Friendly helpful staff. Convenient bar and merch table. Clean restrooms. Checks all my boxes. I'll keep coming back.

As a first-timer enjoying a show at this venue (the entertaining Scott Miller and the amazing vocals of Bonnie Whitmore), I was quite impressed! It boasts an intimate ambiance, great sound and lighting, a cozy bar set up, plenty of parking and welcoming staff. There's really not a bad seat in the house. The 04 Center is housed inside a 1960s A-framed church and it's such a cool use of the space and acoustics. Ticket prices seem reasonable and there's a VIP section (the first few rows). I'll be back!

It's a great venue... a church rents out or raises money with the space, regardless it is a great place to hear music.

This place is an Austin institution and one of the best places in the city to experience live music. This historic venue has been a local hangout for great music since the 1950s. The club was dimly lit with lots of stickers, graffiti, neon signage, paintings and interesting artifacts. While it has been a long time since I have been to the Continental club, it still felt truly Austin and very unpretentious. In the Continental Club you are literally I feet away from the live music. A dog was sleeping on stage, which made the place feel homey. The club is small and intimate, exuding a super personal persona. In addition, the sound quality is excellent for such a small venue. Tonight we listened to Hot Club Cowtown...they sounded folksy and a bit country western yet enjoyable to listen to. Folks were boot scooting, so maybe more country western. Mike the doorman was super personable and helpful. He happily provided the WIFI password and was super engaging. In addition, it is important to note the cover was free until 9 pm. Without hesitation, they both pointed me to Donn's Depot. They were absolutely right. From the moment I walked in, the place felt authentic. Not curated. Not trendy. Just a room full of people genuinely enjoying one another. The bartender was friendly, the regulars immediately welcomed a complete stranger to their table, and before long I was swapping stories with some of the kindest people I've met in a long time. Murphy's In-Laws were fantastic. Their musicianship was outstanding, and after I asked about a James Taylor song, they dusted off Steamroller--a song they hadn't played in years--and performed it like they had played it during warm-ups. Definitely not for the "first time in 15 years." They threw in "Shower the People" for me afterward! Donn's is one of those local favorites that is unforgettable because it provides moments you can't plan. One thing to know before you go: they don't serve meals, but they do have complimentary popcorn (which was great to discover if you haven't eaten anything prior to liquor)! What stayed with me most wasn't just the music. It was the hospitality. A stranger (who overheard my desire to hear Steamroller) quietly paid for my song request. A table of regulars pulled up a chair and made room for me. No one asked why I was there by myself. They simply welcomed me and nick-named me, "San Antonio." From a mic. If you're looking for polished nightlife, this may not be your place--but you probably need to go anyway. If you're looking for authentic Austin, genuine people, excellent live music, and an evening that reminds you how kind strangers can be, don't miss Donn's Depot. Keep Austin Great, y'all!

Literally, the depot has a caboose for a restroom! Going on a Friday night, we paid the $10 cover and it was a little crowded, but there were a few seats at the picnic tables in the wrap-around patio and I managed to step on only a few feet on the small dance floor, dancing to Donn and his Station Masters playing honky-tonk soul, western swing, and rock and roll covers.
